Gaming The SM RedCafe League

Boom! My reserve left back has gone up 1 to 87, which now means I have 2 88's at RB, an 88 & 87 at LB, and an 88, 2 87's and an 84 at CB.

Boom! The very foundations of the English football league received a shock to the core today as Middlesbrough's reserve LB gets a ratings increase of 1!

Exactly Cider... exactly.

Considering all my players ever seem to do is go down or not get any ratings change at all, getting one is a welcome change.

I'd probably only lose 4-1 to you now, such is the drastic change that has taken place.

Did pretty well in the Portugese update. Bought 78 Atsu, few days later he's 83, also got Andre Martins who went from 78 to 82.

Thing is, I don't know much about the long term potential of these players. Just bought them 'cos I knew they were playing well currently and due a rise.

You just gotta follow their progress. Every couple of weeks or so I google through all my players and check how they've been getting on. It's really good motivation for studying football tbh; not only do I know about tonnes of players I'd never have heard before, but I know a fair whack of them in considered detail also. I've never been much of a follower of football outside England before but I've taken much more of an interest via this game.

I did that a bit at first. I agree it can motivate you to take more of an interest. It's like a little project trying to find the best youngsters before they're snapped up by others, can be quite fun but challenging as well.

I had 2 players go up, Maicon up to 89 and Nolito up to 88. Got quite a good team now if everyone is fit,
Ibisevic (88)
Pandev (90) Coutinho (87) Nolito (88)
Albelda (88) Pazienza (88)
Kadlec (89) Maicon (89) Mensah (86) Maicon (89)
Enyeama (87)

Only position where I'm missing cover is center back really, considering Mensah is out for a while I have to play Jara (86) in there but he's primarily a defensive midfielder who can play defence as well. Now why this team hasn't been performing in the league is beyond me.

Also I accepted Arsenal's friendly request

Gone full strength tonight, let's see if the results are still random as feck.

Oh right, friendlies don't count or matter anyway!

Well true but I'd like to see a positive result in them as well :). Currently unbeaten in 9/10 in the league, much better then at the start when I was sat in the relegation zone.

Lost again, suprise suprise. Back to sticking the youth out in friendlies.

Got some nice names in your team Big-Red, I laughed well too much at Fanni & Bjelland.

I finally rid myself of the poisonous Mario Balotelli to Genoa for £14.6m which allowed me to go shopping. I spend the cash plus a little bit extra on four players:

Younes Belhanda (22) Cost: £12.4m
The African player of the season, French league's young player of the season and runner up only to Eden Hazard as the league's player of the season should need little introduction, yet he just got one and it's impressive. 89 rated Wing/AM he's Mario's direct replacement and has a possible real life move to real life Manchester City on the cards for the summer.

Lennart Thy (20) Cost: £1.4m
Werder Bremen's starlet CF is one of the most exciting young players in Germany at the moment with many experts predicting him becoming absolute world class and leading the national team's front line for years to come. He's only 79 rated but that will undoubtedly shoot up next season as he gets more time on the pitch and goals to his name.

Danny Da Costa (18) Cost: £1.1m
Another German, Bayern Leverkusen's attacking, 78 rated RB is a genuine star of the future. Tall, fast and with deadly vision and passing accuracy the fullback of Angolan decent is expected to challenge Vedran Corluka for his position in Bayern's defence next season and receive a promotion from the German U19 to the U21 squad.

Marco Verratti (19) Cost: £1.3m
Seriously undervalued by Spurs manager Levo91, the 76 rated CM/DM from Serie B's Delfini Pescara is expected to be a key player in Italy's Euro 2012 campaign. Also expected is his move to one of the top Italian clubs this summer.

That's my 40th transfer in this season; not bad business I'm sure you'll agree considering all it cost me was a 90 rated known troublemaker.

Ya Verratti was a great purchase. I logged in to see 7 news updates. Thought something serious had gone down, players injured and pissed off or something, but I was greeted by this:

"Spurs have bid for Verratti
Man City have bid for Verratti
Man city have withdrawn their bid for Verratti
Man City have bid for Verratti
Man City have withdrawn thier bid for Verratti
Man City have bid for Verratti"
ffs

I was considering making a bid but I'm waiting for a certain player to be added in a league update :) Thomas Wils has gone up +3, deadly stuff.
