Gaming The SM RedCafe League

Oh dear, and shortly after your transfer bans are lifted you've got two away games in a row which won't help. Are you losing money after each game or just away games? Given the amount of debt you're in I'm assuming it's after each game.

I make circa 120K per home game, and lose around 350K per away game.

Transfer bans arn't important to me, as I'm perfectly happy with the squad I have to challenge for promotion. This whole season financial plan is based around achieving promotion, If I can do that I shouldn't have any worries.

That plan is very... what's the word? So much could go wrong with that. So I'm taking it that you aren't going to be doing anything in the upcoming muppet window?

Yea, but they shouldn't already be playing right?

Correct.

No risk, no reward Damo... If I can beat your lot 3-0 away from home, I can't see why I can't push for greater things.

I've no need to get involved in the muppet window... my squad is currently strong enough as is (the ratings hit that Elia and Leon took have seemingly had no impact what-so-ever), and will only become stronger when Van Wolfswinkel increases shortly.

I seriously doubt the majority of people in our division will be able to improve on what they have drastically anyway... at a stretch they might be able to bring in 2 or 3 players that have a point or 2 higher rating then they currently have, or just bolster the squad in general. You'll probably the busiest of us all I imagine.

What's with these coins? I've got 77 got some notification about gaining them for signing in every day.

Thats pretty much the same situation as me AN.

I lose about 150k per week, which is why i've been going for the cups to try and balance my books. At the moment thanks to the Cups i'm about 120K in the red, but I don't really care as i'm going for the playoffs and will hope that my squad pulls me through :)

I can always pull the plug on my loanees if I need to reduce the wage bill in anycase.

It's a new way of buying the gold stuff like gold management and custom game worlds. The owners of Soccer Manager have implemented it as a way of earning more money for themselves (costs more to buy the coins than it did before coins were implemented) while at the same time having it as an incentive for the average joe to be loyal to the site and recruit more to the game.

You can see what your coins are awarded from by going on this link and clicking on 'SM Shop History'. I get 3 coins for logging in every day.

Omar did you go through the tutorial when you signed up? You should get 75 coins for that.

I'm not sure if i went through it tbh, but as i have only 3, i guess i didn't.

It's the business model of success I'm sure you'll agree!

Regardless, come the start of next season, if this seasons start figures were anything to go by, I'll break even through seasonticket sales. Leaving me room to do some swaps at the very least....

That is true. I've got a few plans but nothing too ambitious. I've talked to RS a while about my plans but what I'm doing has changed since I last spoke to him. I've got a few players in mind and if I get them then I should do fine without Cahill and my squad should be fine in most positions. I was planning on bringing in a new goalkeeper but I'm not going to do that anymore.

I only get 2 for signing in everyday. Bloody fascist against Spurs the cnuts.

I only get 1 coin for logging in. Possibly because I've already paid for gold membership and they realize they can't get any more money out of me.

Can't reward the scouse too much, they'll get above they're station.

At the moment I can say the only position in my squad I'm 100% happy with is the right back slot. Piszczek first choice, Jantschke second choice and Nagatomo can play there too though his main position is left back. All of the other positions in my squad either need a little adjustment or a huge face lift.

Tell you what... you beat a man 3-0 and suddenly he's unhappy!

I'm happy with every position on the park, but then I believe in my players...

Pfft I believe in my players too but if you were me and saw the spreadsheet I've got open you can understand what I've said and the plans I've got in a week or two. I'm happy with most of my signings, but a few I can improve upon.

Im happy-ish with most of my squad, but my early signings were shite, and I hope to trade them in a few weeks:devil:

I'm not very happy with my squad. I fecked up my early transfers big time. Especially my defence, i have a decent midfield and a good attack, but defence is just not good enough. Now i don't even have money for transfers, only player exchanges possible now.

How much cash have you got? Your squad is thin, but it's not bad by any stretch...

I've got -895k. The problem is my defenders, i should have gone for higher rated defenders. Also i had got some average players paying cash for them for no reason, i thought 85 was a good rating, but only later i realised i needed something around 88, but till then all my money was over.

Well, I hate to break this to you, but you can't do any exchanges either. Once you're in negative funds, you can't do any transfers what-so-ever... regardless if they're just exchange deals or not.

You'll have to sell someone before you can do some swaps, but with your squad as thin as it is, I can see that being tricky enough as is.

No transfers at all? OMG.

What are the negatives of having a negative balance apart from you not being able to do transfers? Can you go bankrupt? Can your chairman force you to sell?

Oh shit... forgot about that

i'll be ok Damien, I have a cup game and 2 home games which should put me in the green ready for the transfers! I'll need to act fast mind!

I've got two home games on the 20th and 24th followed by 2 away games on the 27th and 31st. I'm fine financially but I'm hoping to time it so the income from the two home games can help finance the purchase of a player, then after that some of my current transfer bans will be lifted so I'll be able to sell some of the players I won't need anymore to put me back in the green if I'm in the red by then as well as finance some more players.

I'm not sure you can really GET in the red in Division 1. The TV revenue is too huge.

That was my thought too to be honest but there might be one or two clubs with high wages and low capacity stadia. Even with that the TV revenue is massive like you say, and the ticket prices is about £3 more per ticket than Division 2 clubs which helps.

FAO: Milwall/Ipswich.

Do you still need Nelson/Gomes? If not I'll re-call them and sell them. If you do no worries you can keep them until the end of the season or up until you need them.
