Gaming The SM RedCafe League

Defeated Wigan 4-1. 3rd straight victory

Finally dished out a hammering.

Sheff Wed 5-0 Macclesfield, still 3rd unfortunately.

I just looked at the stats for my game... weirdest thing ever.
Brighton 1-2 Peterbrough
43 possession 57
22 total shots 6
12 shots on target 6
6 corners 7

How did I with much less possession manage to get 22 shots, 12 on target, yet only score 1? Then he with 57 % possession managed 6 shots, all on target and 2 goals !
Ridiculous game at times.

Do you play with an "attacking" mentality? You tend to shoot a lot from range with that style.

It was on very attacking that game because I was trying out a lot of different tactics in hope of finding one that works, so that is probably why but in general even when I put it on normal I still get loads of shots without many goals. I haven't scored more than twice in a game yet in fact.

ya the mentality thing is a bit dodge. I'd only use Normal or Defensive myself, and I still create a good few chances. Attacking is just forced shots from 20-25 yards apparently. Handy to use as an in-game tactic though, say switch it to attacking with 60 minutes on the clock if you are losing to try sneak a goal.

My new signings have arrived and I've added some players to the loan list who will probably be of interest to some of you if you'd like to take a look.

Reminder for those in the cups that player conditions are taken into account and reduced.

My starting 11 for Tuesday mainly consists of those who won't be starting on Thursday anyway - there are still three names in the lineup that would start on Thursday but I might change them. This'll be where it gets interesting for those with thin squads and injuries.

I'm playing Kidderminster Harriers at home so should progress.

My bids in Cider. Guaranteed game time.

Does that make any difference in the player ratings in this game?
Guaranteed game time for a loan player means nothing in this game.

I made a loan bid for a player I was interested in before, only for ciders chairman blocking the move for the same player a week or 2 ago :(

Makes no difference at all but I think cider is quite strict with his loans and will only really loan to somewhere where they will play.

As for me, personally I don't mind whether they get a lot of playing time or not. The two main reasons for loaning the players out that I have is to get them off the wage bill and help out those sides who have been short of cash and struggling to sign players.

In the league Iturbe has played twice with 1 goal and 1 assist, and Sala has played once with 1 assist. I'm happy with that, and if I do get any injuries I have an understanding with those sides that I can end the loan with their approval.

With my current luck I'll probably be knocked out by Rochdale...

Yep that's my reasoning to give out players on loan too. Btw do we have an understanding that if I suffer an injury crisis, I can call back Shaun Derry?

I does actually, it means I can assess his performances, as well as increasing the player's profile in-game should I wish to sell him in future.

well to be fair he wont get too many games with me cider. He'd be rotated with Kerrision, so reject my bid if you wish.

Have them updated the Ratings yet?

French league is pretty much done. Italy is still being done but a lot of ratings have been updated. Through a quick glance at the ratings done so far the only players of mine from Serie A that have got a chance of changing are Nagatomo and Inzaghi. I think both will change but the former will go up and the latter will go down.

After that it is the English and Spanish leagues.

Bollocks game. I think I'm going to abandon my approach at rationally selecting players and tactics before each game for another approach which clearly has more merit: do nothing and let the game sort it out itself. I'll probably log in once every ten games to make sure I don't get sacked

i think you have to login every 10 days or so.

If you feel like that, you may as well quit and give someone a chance to get involved.

I've sent CASTAIGNOS to Bournemouth FC and INSIGNE to Rochdale. Still got plenty of hot, young prospects available for loan if anyone is interested.

Frustrating, at this rate I'll win the champions league and be relegated to division 2.
