NoPace is officially the unluckiest guy in this round, he wanted to change his 1st attempt to Rivelino, would have been a brilliant pick.

Oh, Rivelino is blocked! Well, my bad research strikes again, didn't even know that he was available in this round. I was toying with the thought of picking him from the WC bookings round.

Because there aren't a tonne of left wingers in the round as good as Rivelino?

And Rivelino can play left wing. One of the biggest reasons we would have got him is that he's an exceptionally good, flexible player. I'd happily play Rivelino in a number of positions which helps as this draft keeps throwing up surprises.

Damn, didn't expect that to make it through here with that pick. Happy I am not going in the last round in this one.
 
Absolutely delighted that Rivellino got blocked (surprised it took round 2 though). If I didn't have Zico already, I'd have been all over him.
 
I find it odd that no one went for an already picked player this round... looks like people's research was all over the place
 
There's still atleast 3 top class players, that may or may not have been picked already...

@MJJ has been MIA for a while now. He missed the deadline for his second stage pick of this round. There's only a few hours left before his third and final pick is due. Would either of you gentlemen be interested in stepping in/assisting him until he returns(if he does at all)

I'm sure he'd rather the assistance instead of a sheep :)
 
MJJ's team would be a complete write-off if he gets another sheep, in-fact as it is if no one else gets a sheep in future rounds, he will be a lame duck first round opponent.
 
We need someone to be able to fill in for @MJJ - even if he will be back, he won't survive another sheep. And if he won't, the team with that many sheeps won't be interesting to anyone. So, maybe we ask someone to have their pick ready and submit it in case he misses the deadline again?
 
Didn't know Rivelino was eligible this round. How did other managers research this round? Was a tricky one. I managed to find a list of foreign A-League players but that was about it.

I still think there should be longer deadlines on weekends. Even better, I'd say there should be no deadlines on weekends. As far as the no changing of picks rule, I agree with that, even though I nearly fecked it up myself this round.

(especially after some of the threads which cropped up)

There is no reason why Keane and Scholes circa 2006-08 can't play as a 2 MF pair in 4231. Even Carrick in Fergie's version of 4231 was never a pure destroyer and Keane would be a huge improvement on him.

Not sure about that. Usually you'd expect everyone to check the internet in the afternoon because of the games anyway. And if you might struggle to make the 12h deadline for the 2nd attempt, just leave a few options for your 2nd attempt with us just in case. Joga and sajeev for example did that. These drafts can get really boring if they're dragged out too long, so it's important to keep the momentum going in my opinion.
 
About 30 minutes to go, is no one following this thread who wants to help MJJ out here? This really is a shit round to get a sheep, lots of hilarious players available for antohan to come up with something mean.

i think we should either wait for him, or ensure someone submits a proper pick for him (we don't know why he is unable to come online)

I wouldn't care, but it's a bit weird if the managers pick a player for him. Maybe @crappycraperson ? He knows Viva's pick though and I told him one unpicked player when he asked me about him, which gives him a slight advantage. But if he doesn't pick said player, I wouldn't mind if he helps out.
