They do this in basketball as well. It is part of their sport culture for a few years now.
Let us not pretend that the Germans weren't playing dirty too. They set the tone in the opening 10 minutes and Taylor let them get away with it.

Exactly. Taylor allowed it and made the game worse.Let us not pretend that the Germans weren't playing dirty too. They set the tone in the opening 10 minutes and Taylor let them get away with it.

They merged with latin america. That's why they started winning. And they'll keep on winning by doing it.
Italy does too, they are tricky just as south American teams.Spain, Portugal and maybe to a bit lesser extent Italy have always been doing it. It isnt some new thing after they merged

Spain stopped being naive after 2006. Not really sure about Portugal, it's just a few players but not as many as Spain.
The rest of Europe are just too naive and expect a gentleman's game.
Yes that might happen, when we have AI teams playing each other with AI refs.Maybe when most teams don't play like assholes and a select few do, perhaps it isn't the ones that don't play like dicks that are the problem.

Imagine being mad at Spain playing "the dirty game" after today, with Kroos getting the special treatment for his last game not a single legit controversial call in Spain's favor
But those are easy to see for us that are looking at a tv with replays. It's not easy to see in the middle of a football pitch in real time. All we need is refs to get their shit together.
Every dive = instant booking.
Every pretend pain when there was little to no contact = instant booking.
We'll see it weeded out in no time.
From the way FIFA, UEFA and any governing bodies treat it, absolutely. It's not discouraged at the least.Gamesmanship is a part of sports
It was a good game but couldn’t help but feel cynical fouling is a plague on the game.
I couldn’t watch live so taped and just watched it.Carvajal was born a shithouse.
This happens in every league…and is so frustrating.I am worried I am becoming blinkered in my views whenever I notice this - but surely I was not alone in thinking that everytime there's even a half challenge, the Sociedad players love rolling around while violently flailing their limbs and screaming like they are being flayed alive? This is not strictly off the thread title, since the ref hasn't bought it yet, but God do the Spaniards celebrate their exaggerated playacting. It is quite revolting.
There seemed to be a passage of play where we won a challenge at the edge of our box and started a counter, and the player who lost the challenge was screaming and rolling - right uptill the moment they won it back, when he suddenly found the miraculous strength to get up and get ready for a run for a transition.
Garnacho literally just done it. Started wriggling in pain even before he hits the floor. We get possession back quickly and he’s up on his feet. Hate it even when our players doing it.I am worried I am becoming blinkered in my views whenever I notice this - but surely I was not alone in thinking that everytime there's even a half challenge, the Sociedad players love rolling around while violently flailing their limbs and screaming like they are being flayed alive? Thought that was a thing too. card gestures are subject to yellow cards.Oralaballbag waving his imaginery card at the referee after Bruno's handball. Why not book him for that hey?
