The use of the word juxtaposition should be a banning offence.

I'm just getting into them right now. Ole can you recommend the better films of Godard and Truffaut. I have only seen Breathless (A Bout de Souffle) by Godard and Fahrenheit 451 by Truffaut. What else should I put on the top of my list ?
Godard is the most experimental so keep that in mind. His movies:I'm just getting into them right now. Ole can you recommend the better films of Godard and Truffaut. Shame you couldn't get into Godard's work. He's my favorite director.Hiroshima mon amour - well worth a watch.
I loved Fahrenheit 451, but couldn't really get into Godard's work, sadly.
can you suggest another term then Monsieur Walking Breathing Thesaurus?
Godard is the most experimental so keep that in mind. His movies:
Contempt
Band of Outsiders
A Woman is a Woman
Masculin Feminin
Alphaville
Le Petit Soldat
I'd recommend watching Band of Outsiders or Contempt first, those are the most conventional.
Truffaut is good, but I prefer Godard. Truffaut's movies:
Jules and Jim
Shoot the Piano Player
400 Blows(really the whole Antoine Doinel series)
Also check out some movies by Eric Rohmer. They are very slow though. A lot of talking. That should get you started.
I agree that it was obvious that it was a play turned into a film. For me though, the whole thing worked.
Sppppooooooonnneeey, the movie review thread has died a death without you!
Just got Dr Strangelove, Spirited Away and A Wes Anderson box set arrive in the post this morning, although everyone already knows about them the verdicts will be returned over the coming days.
Going to watch the Orphanage tonight I think and I thought Cloverfield was ok but i suppose it depends on what you are expecting.
Have you seen Juno? I thought that was an overrated pile of shite.
Where have you been by the way?
I actually watched Rushmore and Royal Tenembaums last night. Theyre both really good if you like Wes Anderson. I got them on the basis of watching the Darjeeling limited and thinking that no-one else makes films like that. Theyre funny without trying too hard, and kind of tragic and uplifting at the same time. Very difficult to put your finger on.Seen those films then?
Strangelove is my favorite movie of all time.
I have seen three stinkers in a row now and I knew they were going to be like that but I still watched them.
National Treasure 2, Me, you and Dupree and The heartbreak kid.

The girlfriend wants to watch Spirited Away with me as we just watched Howl's Moving Castle, which was excellent.
Stranglove, I have to watch with my housemates.
I have seen some others recently but can't remember them right now.
Have you seen the Orphanage? I love Del Torro's spanish films and this looks great, especially with him as producer.
I love Anderson's movies. I agree that there's just something that you can't explain about them. Also, his soundtracks are usually spot on. The Kinks, The Zombies, David Bowie, all good stuff. Have you seen The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou yet?I actually watched Rushmore and Royal Tenembaums last night. Theyre both really good if you like Wes Anderson. I too love surprise endings, I just felt they tried to do one too many surprises.I pretty liked the ending. There is nothing better than surprising ending.

He's only made 5:Which Anderson films should I see, Ole?
I agree. I thought it was a decent watch, but vastly overrated. . .and as you said, they tried too hard.
Which Anderson films should I see, Ole?
The only one I haven't utterly hated was the last one, Darjeeling Limited and even that was deeply ordinary. The Life Aquatic was one of the worst film's that I have ever had the displeasure of watching. In general his films are smug indulgent rubbish that are nowhere near as clever or amusing as the director imagines.
Just watched No Country for Old Men. Brilliant for the first 3/4 or so. Either I just didn't get the ending or it wasn't that good. Somebody who loved it explain it to me.
Ordering of the scenes, parallel plotlines?
Even when it is the most appropriate phrase it conjours up images of pseuds discussing minute of plot in detail on late night public service TV. Which makes me want to engage in an axe wielding homicidal rampage.
Sorry.
