Gaming The RedCafe General/Random Gaming Chat Thread

Just bought Alien Isolation. Don't know why, but I've suddenly got a really strong urge to play it. It would be handy if I got an urge to play some of the bloody games I've already got.

Can anybody recommend any games with a Victorian, Gothic or Medieval theme? Bloodborne looks cool and I want to play something with a similar style.

Darkest Dungeon(PC) and of course the Medi Evil games(PlayStation).

Nightmare Creatures.
I remember hearing of that years ago, never known what the game's like though. Will check it out!

I've been meaning to play MediEvil again for a while, don't think I ever completed it. Never heard of Darkest Dungeon, will have a look :)

Yeah never mange to finish it either(Think I only had the demo to the second one, which had Skeleton dinosaurs.)

I haven't played Darkest Dungeon(It's a turn base RPG, not really my thing) but the art style looks incredible(Also I've heard it's extremely difficult).

Also just to add another one(Although haven't played it myself)

Tormentum Dark Sorrow

Alice: Madness Returns.

It jumps between Victorian London and Alice's Wonderland. Brilliant platformer.

Just had a look at Darkest Dungeon. It doesn't seem to be my thing either really, the art style does look really cool though.

Haven't heard of Tomentum either, but I used to like point and click adventure games, so will check that one out :)

That looks really cool. Didn't know it was a platformer which is a nice bonus!

It's basically exactly what you want. Victorian London, hack & slash, monsters. I only ever played the demo but remember it being fun.
Cool stuff, sounds like it could be pretty good.

Looking forward to MGS5, still need to replay MGS3 though in the HD collection and MGS4, need to remind myself of everything because I only ever played through 3 & 4 once. All the trailers look great though. Need to catch up on all the DLC for Bioshock and Mass Effect too at some point... so many games on hold to play right now, can't wait till the summer to get some real time off from University

I just watched all the fatalities from Mortal Kombat X. I found it a bit disturbing I think.
Also what's the point of all the X-ray stuff? You see someone have their spine broken in numerous places jump straight back up. Furthermore his eyes were probably just impaled as well.

It's the way I played it over the Xbox version. I haven't tried how it works on the 360, it's probably still in it's wrapper somewhere

Definitely worth a play though, from what I remember I thought it was an overlooked gem.
I'll probably try the PC version then, it looks pretty cool from the screenshots I've seen.

'tis a video game :D There needs to be more violence!

Anyone else see the Clueless Gamer episode on MKX? I won't link to it 'cuz it's a bit sweary, but you can find it easily enough on YouTube!

It just seems a bit much if I'm honest.

Just started playing Dead Space 2. Haven't played it for a couple of years at least so can't really remember what's going on, but I seem to have picked it up quickly. Been meaning to get the first one some time.

I didn't like it, to be honest. The jump-scares got predictable after a while, and after that, the game lost all effect. Hopefully Alien proves to be a better game.

This guy is awesome, by the way.

Which one, the first or second? Or both?

 That's great. There are loads of Fresh Prince and video game music mixes. I like this one

Dead space 1 is the best of them, the sequels were dumbed.

And don't get me started on Alien! I so desperately wanted to (and partially did) love it, but the sloppiness in areas vital to a stealth game and overall sense of 'been there and done it waaay better' won't go away throughout. Still, it's Alien!
