So these are the good discounts I've identified for possible next purchases:
- Subnautica Below Zero
- Death's Door
- Darkwood
- RE 7

Subnautica is probably the easiest choice here given how much I loved the base game. I'm thinking RE7 as the other as it's supposed to be excellent and will compliment Subnautica well. Death's door looks good, but it isn't that much of a discount and I can hold off for a few months and it's also not very long. Darkwood is on a great discount, but I've heard combat is clunky and it can be very very difficult/frightening.

Hades is 35% off too

I loved the first one, it was dragged down by Telltale's atrocious engine though.

Also one of the best intros in gaming...

Never thought this would actually happen. I really enjoyed the first one, can't believe it's been over 8 years now. With everything that has happened to Telltale, how much of the original talent will still be involved though?

Had a blast with The Wolf Among Us years ago. Loved the ending, too. Haven't played a Telltale game for years, so maybe I'm due one.

Just reminded me that I never started the last season on The Walking Dead.

What are some good 4 player games on PC? We have played Phasmophobia, Mount and Blade, Muck…looking for cheap or free good games to play. Either as a 4 or where 4 of us can hop into a bigger game.

- Valheim
- 7 Days to Die
- Raft
- Conan Exiles
- Warhammer Vermintide 2
- Deep Rock Galactic

All games that us Caftards have played as a smallish group and enjoyed in the last year (all on private servers with no other players).

Let me know if you find out
AFAIK it's worse than almost every other variation you can buy. Unless playing on the go is worth it to you then buy it on any other platform.
I read a few reviews and consensus is that it's not great on switch. 720p and gets worse when hoooked to a telly. I'll give it a miss. I don't have any other console but don't want to invest 100 hours into an inferior version of something.

Just get Ori as im working through Hollow Knight you will love the ori series witcher can wait.
That game is on my watchlist but need to get through the ones I haven't finished yet. The Celeste Farewell DLC is killing me due to a specific mechanic that is introduced and is extremely difficult to pull off with the joystick in handheld mode

I wasn't sure whether to bump the ol' Shenmue 3 thread or just post in here. I wimped out and am posting in here.

I'm only a couple of hours in, but I'm loving it. I've only recently discovered the games for the first time and finished Shenmue 2 the day before yesterday before diving straight into this. It's great how it follows on seamlessly.

The game looks really pretty, imo. I'm a sucker for bright colours. All those flowers and butterflies.

I don't know how many of you have completed Celeste but I'm sure I've spoke to a few here that have played it.

I'm trying to get through the Farewell DLC, about halfway done. So frustrating (mainly due to the introduction of wavedashing, which is really frustrating to do).

I just completed the dreaded "comb room" and as I play with analogue joystick in handheld mode (I'm an idiot), I thought I was never going to finish it. Then switched to control pad and done it in a few attempts.

Gonna go back to handheld now as I prefer the challenge

As I said in the PS5 thread, Sifu really is a great game. It is difficult, it won't be for everyone, but as usual the talk of the difficulty and how it works has been overblown. It's no more tricky to get into and learn than any of the soulsbourne games, in fact it's easier to pick up and learn IMO.

I'm probably going to pick it up at some point, my only worry is that it looks like it would be more enjoyable to fans of fighting games (your Virtua Fighters etc) than other melee combat games. And I don't really fall into that category. Is that a fair assessment or is it nothing like that?

I’m tempted to try out Sifu at a later date when a sale goes down for it. I liked God Hand despite it being REALLY fecking hard.

It's more souls than VF or stuff like that mate, it's really not a one-on-one fighting game even against the bosses.

You walk through level beating the crap out of everything, but the fighting whilst deep isn't super tricky to learn. There's only 2 attack buttons for example, and the blocking/dodging is done with one. All extra moves and stuff like that are bought with XP, it's roguelite so you don't have to learn a million different combos and crap all at once.

I never played past the main story and don't think I ever did wavedashing but yeah, I imagine playing some of the harder parts would be super frustrating in handheld mode.

I love my Switch buy oftentimes need to switch to a proper controller when it comes to fast-paced/action parts

All right, I can deal with that. It's going on the list. Now once I'm done with my current games I'll just have to decide which out of Dying Light 2, Sifu, Horizon Forbidden West and Elden Ring I'll have to get first.

Depends on how much time you have!

Sifu will complement the others tbh, you really don't have to play it for hours at a time to master it or "git gud" like a lot of the reviews seem to say. Sifu and then in 2 weeks Elden Ring is my go to plan.

Plenty of time in general. I always play at least two games at the same time (well, not literally). Usually one longer, often RPG-ish game and another one that demands more focus. So a combination of Sifu and Horizon would work perfectly for me for example. Sifu and Elden Ring might be a bit much.

Clips of Sifu remind me more of Ninja Gaiden than anything else. I may be way off with that assessment though.

I see it, but that's not what comes to my mind.

It's not as big a chore to learn and play as made out though mate, you can jump in and out. The levels aren't ridiculously long (at least so far) and the shortcuts help. You can pretty much beat the first level the first time or two you play, it then becomes about getting the age down. And even then, I've got my age down to 21 (1 death) within 3 runs and that wasn't even trying too hard to master nor done in one sitting.

I'll definitely get it but between Horizon, Elden Ring and a newborn baby I don't have time for it now.

Personally, I like Celeste for some hours but a game being so purely about 2d traversal was just not interesting to me.

Glad to see I'm not the only one. It's a new thing with me. Just feels great to have two games to switch between. If one of them is not complex, I might even have three on at some point (this happened as I wasn't into playing Hades for long stretches after my first clear so I'd just pop in for a run once a weekend).

And both games complimenting each other is important. Also helps that I was about 3 years late to the PS4 era so always tend to have games I can get on discount which I want to play.
