I'm not sure how much time I have to be honest, I've quite a bit to sort out when I go down this week but I will try and get a season done at least.

Turning down Barca for Shaktar? Wtf was I thinking

I did this once with just myslef, Barca bought me for £20m at 19 and they played me 3 times before selling me a year later to Roma. Sometimes it doesn't work out too well when your young.

Season 4: Post 1 of 4

Hmm, anyone want some more? Last one for a week!

To clarify one thing, I’m not intentionally writing more about some players than others or vice-versa, it’s just that more stuff happens to some players than others in a season!

Season 4: Post 1 of 4

Cinadine Cidane

Despite offers from West Ham, Wigan and Southampton at the beginning of the season, Cinadine surprisingly decided to sign a new contract to keep him at A.S. Nancy Lorraine. It turned out to be a good decision, as he made 37 appearances for the club, with 9 assists and 3 goals. Although now considered a Wonderkid, Cinadine is happy at the club and has shown no signs of wanting to leave.

Throughout the season it became obvious that Cinadine is most certainly an “attacking” midfielder, as whilst he was getting a lot of shots on target and passing well, he was making a successful tackle only every second game.

Cw1984

Having probably his most important season yet, the youngster was chased by many top clubs at the start of the season, and he opted to go, unsurprisingly, to a Man Utd side who had been struggling in the league for a hefty £9.75m fee. Making £93,000 per week, the youngster had a lot to prove, as he made 17 solid appearances for the club, with 2 assists as well.

Cw1984 is certainly a fan of managers too, his favoured personnel including Arsene Wenger, Carlos Ancelotti and Rafa Benitez () he also got his first international cap for England.

Diver

Unlike his friend cw1984, the young Wonderkid opted to stay at Middlesbrough, making an impressive 47 appearances and scoring 4 goals, not bad for a centre back. He also got 2 caps for England, those his main role is still in the U21s setup.

With over 5 tackles per game and an 88% pass completion ratio, Diver is already looking the full package, and it’s not surprising that he’s become unhappy at the club and wants to leave. No clubs are interested yet though, so will he get his wish?

Hassan Emirati

After spending 4 years at League 1, Championship, then League 1, then Championship again, Hassan finally got into the Premier League as West Brom snapped him up for £3.4m. He was quick to get off to mark, cementing his place as a first team regular and making 14 appearances. He’s also already capped 14 times for the UAE and at this rate, he could break their all time record.

Unfortunately, Hassans season took a turn for the worse after his promising start, and he is currently receiving specialist treatment for a ... err ... a ... broken toe? Hassan is likely to be back for at least some of the pre-season though, but he’s hoping the injury hasn’t affected his progress.

Alex Hemming

Another one of the youngsters to be snapped up by West Brom, this time for a fee of £1.8m, Alex made 28 appearances for the club, and established himself as a reliable centre back, with plenty of tackles and a marvellous 89% pass completion. He’s only made a single mistake the entire season as well.

Alex has already been capped 15 times for high flying Norway, and is now on his way to Euro 2012.

Jacob

After Jacobs shock move to Shahktar instead of Barcelona, he was quick to cement himself as an important first team player, making 15 appearances and getting 2 goals and 5 assists. Jacob still remains uncapped at international level.

Dennis Law

Certainly a strong season for the young Scottish striker, after making his £5.5m move to newly relegated QPR, he was quick to make an impact, was a staggering 55 appearances, and 38 goals, he showed his traits as a component striker. He’s also a bit of a greedy striker though, considering he only got 2 assists. Dennis has also made 4 caps for Scotland, scoring 2 goals. He needs to watch his temper though, as 8 yellow cards and a red card is a large tally for a striker.

Although Dennis is currently happy at QPR, Man City and Southampton are both showing interest and he may not be at the club for much longer.

Cristiano Lazytov

Starting the season where he left off at Everton, Cristiano made 11 appearances for the club and scored 3 goals, obviously impressed, Chelsea moved for the player in January and bought him for a massive £13.75m. He was unable to get a regular first team place though, and only managed 5 appearances for the club.
Still, his work rate has improved, his average is now ... 4.8km per 90 minutes, and he also made his first full cap in an England shirt.

Season 4: Post 2 of 4

Season 4: Post 2 of 4

Legold Legster

Having moved to Stuttgart for a huge £8.75m fee, Legold needed to justify his worth, and he did, making 42 appearances with impressive tackling, heading and passing. Legold has also made 3 caps for Serbia. Despite his strong season, no clubs are currently interested in the player and he is happy at Stuttgart.

Karran Mittal

Karran has been something of a creative force at Championship side Bolton, with a very impressive 9 goals and 12 assists. He’s also shown his positive attitude, with an average of 8.4km per 90 minutes.

He is currently unsettled at Bolton however, and feels he needs to move on in his career, and considering the vast amount of clubs interested in him, such as Man Utd, Fulham, Dortmund and Werder Bremen, he’ll surely be gone before the transfer window is closed.

Rasmus Nilsson

Rasmus had a bit of a mixed season for Hull, he made 33 appearances but his form was a bit mixed, especially his passing. Things got worse for the youngster when he broke his leg towards the end of the season, and he is unlikely to be fit for the start of the next season.

niMic

Still unable to establish himself as a first team regular at Wolfsburg, niMic only amassed 6 appearances for the club, and didn’t get himself a single goal or assist. That didn’t stop Sevilla moving for the youngster though, and the Spanish side paid £7.5m to buy him. He made 12 appearances and got his first goal in 3 years.

niMic sure is a nice chap though, he hasn’t made a single foul in his 12 games for Sevilla.

Alwyn Payne

After moving to Italian mega club Juventus for £7.5m at the start of the season, Alwyn was keen to impress, but he struggled to hold a first team place, and only made 22 appearances. He got himself 5 assists, and despite having high passing, good heading, good tackling and a high distance covered, Alwyn still had a low rating for the season. He has won his first trophy though, as Juventus won the Italian Super Cup this season.

Paz

Paz remained at Newcastle for the season, and became instrumental as they finished the season in 5th place. He made 37 appearances, with 7 goals and 7 assists. Newcastle also reached the final of the FA cup but failed to win. Paz seems very happy at Newcastle at the moment, and has formed a good friendship with 2 of his colleagues, as both Kevin Nolan and Joey Barton are his favoured personnel (:lol::lol:)

Psmith

Now into his 3rd, and arguably his best season so far with Hull, Psmith made 29 appearances and got an impressive 14 goals. He also played for India in the U20 Asian Championship, which they won.

Season 4: Post 3 of 4

Season 4: Post 3 of 4

Chris Searl

Chris had a solid 2nd season at Koln, with 35 appearances, 4 goals and 9 assists, he is now considered one of their most important players and has helped them get to 6th place in the Bundesliga. He’s made a 1,500 successful passes this season, not bad at all.

Shorty Phelan

After his excellent goal tally for CFR Cluj last season, Shorty was eager to impress for Wolves following his £6.75m move, but he only made 21 appearances and scored 8 goals. His future is looking bright at the club though, as he’s now considered a key player going in to the new season.

Ubor Skolskov

After 6 impressive months at Zenit, Real Madrid moved in for the talented youngster and he joined in a big £11m move. Ubor only managed to make 14 appearances for the Spanish giants though. He’s still happy at the club however, and looks likely to make a bigger impact next season.

Sam Stock

After getting away from Bolton in a big £6.75m move to West Ham, Sam quickly established himself as their main right winger, making 38 appearances throughout the season, and showing his finishing prowess by scoring an impressive 10 goals from the wing. Sam has also now had 2 caps for England on the right wing. Sam does need to work on his temper though, as he got 9 yellow cards and 1 red card throughout the season.

Although West Ham struggled in the league and barely avoided relegation, Sam is keeping himself committed to the club and is striving to help them improve their league position.

Flawless Thaw

Flawless continued his blossoming career at Fulham by making 38 appearances for them as a right midfielder, and grabbing himself 2 goals and 9 assists. Fulham only just avoided relegation in the Premier League, and obviously unhappy with this, Flawless is currently in pursuit of another club in order to further his career. With giants such as Inter, Real Madrid and Lazio in pursuit, it looks likely that he’ll leave, but Fulham are unlikely to let their star player go for cheap!

Walrus

Now in his 3rd season with Sunderland, Walrus made more appearances than ever before, an impressive 42 as their striker, with 15 goals and 6 assists. He was also named as the English Young Player of the Year. Strangely, even after such an impressive season, he has yet to be capped for his country.

In January Walrus caused controversy, by issuing a press statement claiming he wanted to leave Sunderland for a bigger club, but his manager told him he had to stay to help the club progress. Walrus accepted this at the time, however once the season ended the young ego began again, and now clubs such as Arsenal, FC Bayern, Man Utd and Roma are on the verge of making bids.

Ed Weatherall

After sealing his free transfer to Fenerbahce, things didn’t go too great for the young goalkeeper, as he only made 3 appearances. Tottenham came along in January though, and bailed him out for £2.1m. He was quickly put in the first team, but his manager Harry Redknapp consistently criticised his form and by the end of the season he had only made 7 appearances for the club. He insists he is happy at the club, but Bologna are reportedly interested in him.

George Worst

Now in his 4th season at West Brom, the longest time any of the youngsters has been at a club, George was still struggling to break in to the first team, and only made 13 appearances throughout the season. George was in the last year of his contract though, and seemingly unhappy at the club, he refused to sign a new one, and will now be moving to Hertha BSC on a free transfer.s

Our abilities

Here we go again, some people have made crazy progress for a season and some ... have not! Huge difference between some of us. I’m not sure how it’s working, because some of the players with lower CAs have been playing just as much as the likes of Diver and cw1984. Strange!

Woot :D

feck helping West Ham with their league position, I want out

Some seem to develop extremely quickly, I'm stuck on the same attributes from the start.

Some seem to develop extremely quickly, I'm stuck on the same attributes from the start.

Ah I wouldn't worry, we're all still on course to reach our full potential. You can keep improving til your 24, 25, even later than that for some positions. Infact, some players who peak too soon will start to degrade earlier in their career than others. Have faith!

Meh, and it started out so promisngly as a GK, has rather gone to shit these last two seasons...good update.

cw, you have already peaked your game, playing for United already.. nothing to look forward to :p

Nice one niMic and cina - I'm not involved but it's still a nice read :)

I think I can answer the mystery surrounding Ed's PA though. It's got to do with Genie's algorithm, which takes things into account - it doesn't just read from the database. In this case, Ed was playing with Notts County. I highly doubt (although if you check it'd be nice) they have decent training facilities or coaches and so on. When Genie's calculating how good you can become it takes these things into account, even the manager gets thrown in (a manager who doesn't develop youngsters will be ineffective and possibly a hindrance whereas a manager who brings youngsters through will help the player reach their potential).

This is why a player's potential rating (the percentage) can actually increase. To give you a good example, on my main save I have a central defender who's a wonderkid. I've given him regular premiership football since he was 17 (he's one half of my main defensive partnership) and as such he's developing really quickly, but he's also becoming a more refined player - which is increasing his best potential rating as he's gaining ability points in the correct places.

And congrats cw1984 on being the first to reach United! :D

Makes sense Avarice.

Oh by the way, anyone who pisses me off in other posts in the forum, I'll be setting Liverpool as your favorite club and Stevie G as favored personnel :D Oh, the power!

A broken toe. A real man's injury

:( At least i'm playing regularly for a PL side. Playing for Hull i'm most likely hoofing the ball the ball up the field all the time, which would explain the poor passing rate.

7 caps and 33k a week as a 18 year old is not bad tbf.

WBA have fecked up my career then it seems, cnuts. Hopefully I get some playing time in Germany and then return to a good Premier League team.

How did this all come about?

Quality idea and a interesting read. Keep up the good work fellas

CW might be the golden boy here, but he was no English Young Player of the Year, biatches.

Don't want to play for R. Madrid :( They'll treat me like a piece of meat

Lean, mean passing machine. I think i'll soon be Norway captain i can feel it.

Folks I should have another one out by the end of the weekend if I get time.

From now on it'll probably be 1 a week, I'm fairly busy down in the new place now so I haven't got a lot of time.

Season 5: Post 1 of 4

Season 5: Post 1 of 4

Cinadine Cidane

Picking up where he left off at A.S. Nancy Lorraine, Cinadine was starting in just about every game for the club, and made 24 appearances before Italian big boys Fiorentina decided to move in for the youngster in a £12.5m deal. He was a first team regular from the get go, and made 17 appearances, with 4 goals and 3 assists. Funnily enough, Cinadine only had 4 shots out of 22 on target the entire season, but when he gets it right, he obviously gets it right!

Cw1984

Now considered Man Utds most important midfielder, cw1984 started 49 games for the club this season. The club had another relatively poor season, only finishing 3rd in the league, but they did end up as runners up in the league cup! Cw1984 must be tired now though, because he’s done an awful lot of running, covering an average of 10km per game.

Diver

Now in his 3rd season at Middlesborough, Diver was influential in helping them reaching an impressive 6th place in the Premier Division, with 9 assists. At the moment though, Diver is unsettled, and with clubs like AC Milan, Lyon and Tottenham interested, Boro might find it difficult to hold on to their star centre back.

Hassan Emirati

Although he missed pre season because of his ... broken toe, Hassan still had a fantastic season for West Brom on the left wing, with 14 assists and 6 goals. At the moment though, he’s unhappy and wants to move to a bigger club. The problem is that none of them seem to be interested, which is why he’s asked to be put on the transfer list.

Alex Hemming

Just like his colleague Hassan Emirati, Alex had a good season with West Brom, with 42 solid appearances, and a fantastic heading, passing and tackling percentage. And also just like his colleague, he’s now unhappy at the club and feels he needs to move on, because he’s obviously just too good for them. There aren’t any teams showing interest yet though, so the big ego might not get the big move.

Jacob

Still enjoying life at Shakhtar, Jacob made 35 appearances for the club, with 9 goals and a few assists to boot. And ... well ... that’s about it.

Dennis Law

Getting his wish, Dennis moved to Aston Villa for a large £10m fee, and was quick to justify his price tag, as he started putting balls in the back of the net straight away. With 24 goals this season, he’s quickly establishing himself as a top striker. He didn’t get any assists though, probably cause he’s taken 160 shots. Does he ever pass?

Cristiano Lazytov

This man is so damned lazy, that it’s hard to write anything about his season. He made 8 appearances throughout the season, and that hasn’t really bothered him, as he seems happy to sit on the bench at the club.

Season 5: Post 2 of 4

Season 5: Post 2 of 4

Legold Legster

Another strong season for Legold at Stuggart, with 43 appearances, a brilliant pass and tackling percentage, and 5 assists to boot. He’s currently happy at the club, and showing no signs of leaving.

Karran Mittal

After begging for a transfer at Bolton, Karran got his wish when Chelsea paid £15.25m to bring him to London. He’s only made 15 appearances so far, but with Chelsea’s ageing team, he’s likely to be getting more next season.

Rasmus Nilsson

With 40 appearances, 4 goals and 7 assists for Hull, Rasmus will have every reason to be happy with his season. At the moment though, he’s not, because he wants to move to a bigger club and has requested to be transfer listed. Hull have declined to do so, however it looks unlikely that they’ll keep him, with the likes of Bayern and Spurs interested.

niMic

Another stable season at Sevilla, niMic made 28 appearances for the club, and would’ve made more if his broken leg didn’t keep him out for over 2 months. He still got 5 goals and assists though. His tackling is a bit poor however, with only 3 successful tackles in 30 games. Certainly not a winger you’d rely on to track back and help his full back out!

Alwyn Payne

Continuing into his 2nd season at Juventus, Alwyn made 27 appearances, getting 7 assists. He still hasn’t scored for the club though, but he makes up for that with his incredible passing, with 1100 out of 1200 passes successfully completed.

Paz

Although Newcastle had a poor season, finishing 13th, that didn’t stop Paz from having a good season, with 5 goals and 13 assists. There was some good news for him at the club though, as after finishing runners up in the FA Cup last year, they went on to win it this year.

Psmith

Now in his 4th season with Hull, Psmith made 35 appearances and scored 11 times. That didn’t help too much though, as Hull finished bottom of the Premiership. Obviously unhappy at the prospect of not playing in the top flight, Psmith has handed in a transfer request, but the club have yet to respond to him. Man Utd, Dortmund and Spurs are the main contenders, but will they play the inevitably large asking price from Hull?

Chris Searl

Chris joined Real Madrid at the start of the season for a massive £17.75m fee, made 18 appearances, which were largely disappointing, which prompted Inter to come along in January and let Madrid make a little profit, buying him for £18m. He’s been much more impressive at Inter though, with 16 appearances, 4 goals, and 4 assists.
