How many times in a row have Arsenal won the league?

Solious how about for a bit of fun, now that we're approaching the ends of our careers you move us all to United, at least those of us who are good. United need to get back on their perch. Plus would love to see the partnership between Law and Psmith.

If i remember they won it about 8 times in a row, but Man City won it the season before last so broke the cycle, the bastards.

I don't think that's a good idea. Personally I'd like to see how we all end our careers.

i agree, however we could have a separate save for that and not start it until our careers are over

plus PSmith i would be the starting striker with law

I doubt that. I'm world footballer of the year after all

FM Experiment Update 2023/2024

1. Cinadine Cidane (Real Madrid)

Cinadine basically performed exactly the same this season, the only difference was that Madrid didn't win La Liga. They've been taking it in turns, and so it was Barcelona's title this year. He scored his 150th league goal this season, Madrid also won the Spanish and Super Cups.

2. Cw1984 (Barcelona)

Another title for cw with Barca. He scored 14 goals from his central midfield position, playing there 22 times and playing at LB 21 times. One of his favourite personnel is Rafa Benitez, oh dear.

ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

3. Diver (Inter Milan)

Now settled at Inter, Diver had a decent season. He played 41 times in CM, bagging 7 goals with an average rating of 7.29. Inter finished 3rd in Serie A though, and lost the Super Cup on penalties. Personally he did well, but was it a mistake to leave Arsenal?

ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

4. Hassan Emirati (Juventus)

Another poor season from Emirati. He played 41 games for Juventus but only scored 4 times, with 11 assists. Hios league average was actuall better than his past two seasons, but it seems like Emirati is generally going downhill now he's hit 30, and he's only 5 days from turning 31. Juve won the Super Cup, and lost the Italian Cup Final to Roma. Emirati played in that final but was the worst player on the pitch, with an atrocious 5.7 rating.

5. Alex Hemming (AC Milan)

Hemming. Played well. World Team Of The Year. Loads of Serie A teams of the weeks. Won the Europa League. Have a mid-life crisis or something will you? Mr Consistent did it again. Nothing to see here folks, move on.

ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

6. Jacob (Napoli)

It seems Benitez is doing something right as Napoli won Serie A this season. Jaob only played 31 times due to injuries keeping him out for large chunks of the season. One injury kept him out for 2 months., and as a result his average score dropped to 7.15. He is still not considered an Icon by the club though.

ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

7. Dennis Law (R. Madrid)

Only 39 goals in 49 appearances for Law this season. That would be pretty damn good for any other player, but not Law. It seems he's past his best now at 31, and while still deadly in the box, he is no longer the incredible striker he used to be, he's only really really good now. Hmm.

ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

8. Cristiano Lazytov (Juventus)

46 appearances this season. I think he needs a name change! Lazytov kept up the effort but wasn't actually very good this season. He only scored 15 goals and his average rating of 7.10 isn't really good enough. The club see him as indispensable though, not sure why.

ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

9. Legold Legster (Real Madrid)

Lesgter's season was decent. He's now considered a Legendary full-back, just in general though, not by Real. He made 50 appearances with 5 assists. His average rating wasn't great though. He's happy at the club, and won the Spanish and Super Cup with them. Don't worry, it's surely Real's turn to win La Liga next year.

ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

10. Karan Mittal (Chelsea)

Mittal continued to be Chelsea's best player as they finished third in the Premiership, and he had the highest average rating in the Premier League. Chelsea won the FA Cup though. The sad news for Mittal is that he didn't get a medal, as he missed the final through suspension. He's only ever won one trophy with Chelsea, so many runners up ones though. Poor bugger.

ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

11. Rasmus Nilsson (Bayern Munich)

Bayern won the treble! Nilsson got two winners medals though as he wans't involved in their German Cup triumph. He played in the Champions League Final win though. His second Champions League winners medal. Rasmus played 48 times, scoring 16 goals from the left wing with 13 assists. A great year for him.

ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

12. niMic (Real Madrid)

niMic had a solid season. 51 games, 15 goals, an average rating of 7.45, and two trophies. He is 31 now and considered a Legendary winger. The club still don't even have him in their favoured personnel though. He got into the World team Of the year though.

ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

13. Alwyn Payne (Juventus Transferred to Arsenal)

He was bored at Juve, did he move clubs? Yep. Alwyn completed a £26.5m to Arsenal in July 2023. The move didn't really turn out well for Arsenal or Payne though. Arsenal won nothing this season. Yeah you read that right, I'll say it again later to help it sink in. Alwyn didn't play well for his new club, maybe he needed to adjust to the style of football again after so long away in Italy. Next season we'll see how he does.

ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

14. Paz (Juventus)

40 games, 5 goals for Paz as Juve finished second in Serie A. They won the Super Cup though. Apart from that, the season was disappointing for Paz. He is injured at the moment, but it optimistic for the future.

ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

15. Psmith (FC Bayern)

Another superb season for PSmith. Scoring 34 times in 47 games, he reiterated his position as one of the words best strikers. He scored twice in the Champions League Final win over Arsenal, one of those being a 90th minute winner. A hattrick last year and a 90th minute winner this year, what next Smithy?

ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

16. Chris Searl (Inter Transferred to Arsenal)

Arsenal had snapped up Alwyn Payne in July 2023, and they decided to bolster their midfield with the signing of Inter Milan's Chris Searl in January. Inter let him go for a massive £40m. Searl played well, getting a 7.39 rating from 23 matches. He didn't win anything though, and got an FA Cup runners up medal. A full season with the club should see things go better for him.

ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

17. Shorty Phelan (Juventus)

46 appaerances for shorty this season, exactly the same as last time. Only less goals this year, 31. He actually had his worst average rating in the league for 6 years. A season to forget for Phelan then.

ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

18. Ubor Skolskov (Juventus)

Skolskov didn't do too well either. An average rating of 7.22 showed this, he can do better. Juve are a pretty aging side now with so many caftards in the team. They are still a top team though. ubor netted 12 goals from his DM position this season which he has made his own. He is currently with the Russia squad preparing for Euro 2024.

ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

19. Sam Stock (Inter)

Another top season for Sam. It seems he's back to his best after two poor seasons. He got a rating of 7.56 for the season, scoring 22 goals with 17 assists. He is currently considering his options, and is willing to stay at the club, but it sounds like he might want to move on after 10 years with the Nerazzurri.

ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

20. Flawless Thaw (Barcelona)

Flawless won the league with Barcelona this season. He played well, getting a 7.30 rating from 47 games, scoring 10 goals from midfield. He was also inducted into England's overall best Eleven side.

ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

21. Walrus (Arsenal)

Arsenal won nothing! I repeat....Nothing! They finished second in the league, lost the FA Cup Final and lost the Champions League Final. Walrus didn't even play in the Champs League final due to injury. He had an ok-ish season. Scoring 27 goals in 49 games, but he could do better.

ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

22. Ed Weatherall (Arsenal)

Yep, they won nothing. Ed performed heroics in the FA Cup Final though, but it wasn't enough to keep Chelsea from winning as they won by a solitary goal. Only 29 clean sheets from 62 games this season. Not a good one for any of the Arsenal boys. Ed got his worst rating in the league for 9 years.

ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

23. George Worst (Arsenal Transferred to Inter Milan)

George must have been either psychic or the key to Arsenal's success. he buggered off in January 2024 to Inter Milan for £33m, and although he didn't win anything he had a very, very good season, with an average rating of 7.52, his best average in the league for his entire career. Could a full season see him do even better?

Euro 2024 later tonight.

Approaching 100 Caps

I reckon my game will only get stronger now I don't have to do the midfield work myself whilst Alwyn pisses around in front of goal :smirk: Although surprised to find I'm already 30!

Euro 2024

Group Stages

Holders Norway didn't even qualify. Losing to Portugal in the playoffs.

Group A

Belgium (Worst), Scotland (Law), Russia (Skolskov), Montenegro

Belgium won their first two games, George Worst, in the form of his life, scoring in a 2 - 0 win over Skolskov's Russia, who lost their first two games. Scotland also won their first two games, and then a draw with Belgium ensured both teams went through, as Skolskov's Russia went crashing out with just one point.

Group B

England (cw, Walrus, Stock, Thaw, Weatherall, Phelan, Payne, Diver), Bosnia & Hertz, Portugal, Italy

England breezed this tough group, starting off by beating Italy 3 - 1 with two goals from Walrus. From then they didn't look back, beating Bosnia 2 - 1, a winning goal from Flawless Thaw, and then thrashing Portugal 4 - 0, with a captains performance and two goals from Alwyn Payne. Thaw also bagged his second of the tournament.

Group C

Cezch Rep, Serbia (Legster), Ukraine, Denmark

The Serbs won their first two games and looked like walking it, they still kinda did, but lost their third game to hosts Denmark. Legster played and captained his side in all three games as they won the group.

Quarter Finals

Italy Vs Belgium

Worst captained his side for this game against Italy. Belgium started well but the game was very even. A draw would have been a fair result, but as you know there can't be a draw. One goal separated the sides and it came for Belgium. Italy pressed and pressed but couldn't equalize. The Belgians went through to the semi's with a narrow 1 - 0 win.

Scotland Vs England

The old foes meet again. Law started for Scotland and Weatherall, cw, Payne, Thaw, Stock, Diver and Walrus started this game. Phelan was on the bench again. In truth it was quite one sided. The Scots only managed one shot on target, while England had 5 in the first half though they couldn't get the breakthrough. Luckily for England it came at a perfect time, on 43 minutes Inter Milan winger Sam Stock powered a header home after good work from Patterson. England continued to dominate the game in the second half and they finished the game like they did the first half, with Diver scoring a half volley after a good cross from Thaw. England reached the Semis.

Serbia Vs Spain

Big game for the Serbs. Could they reach the semis? They did well in the first half, but no goals. Captain Legold Legster picked up a knock during the second half and Spain took the lead on 55 minutes. It didn't take long for Serbia to get back level though, they equalized just 2 minutes later. Spain picked up two injuries after that and struggled to get a hold of the game. Against the run of play though, up popped Bojan with what turned out to be the winner on 73 minutes. Spain had gone through, Legster and his country were out.

Semi Finals

Belgium Vs Ukraine

George Worst led out his side against dark horse Ukraine in this semi-final. They played fantastically, dominating them from start to finish. Belgium had 13 shots on target to Ukraine's three, and they won the game 2 - 0 with goals after 9 and 16 minutes. After that they just sat back and let they game run to reach their first final in god knows how many years. But who would Belgium play in this historic match?

Spain Vs England

Everybody started for England except shorty phelan, who hasn't had a look in all tournament. Payne led out his side as they attempted to get to yet another International Final. England started brightly, with Stock having a good effort saved on 16 minutes, and Patterson driving wide. On just 19 minutes there was a breakthrough. Diver picked the ball up in midfield and played a good pass to Walrus, he rounded the defender and unleashed an unstoppable drive high into the goal. 1 - 0 to England. England had more chances throughout the half, with Payne having a shot saved, and Walrus missing a good chance. Bojan was playing well for Spain, and nearly brought it level. In his frustration he tripped walrus and got booked, then a few minutes later committed another foul, getting himself sent off. England took control then, and dominated the second half. They got their second on 93 minutes when Stock played in Walrus who bagged his second of the game. England were in the final.

Final

Belgium Vs England

This was it. We were guaranteed a caftard winner and England had got to yet another final. Always the runners up, was this finally England's time? Worst and Payne led out their sides, and cw, Weatherall, Thaw and Walrus all started. Phelan didn't play at all, and Diver came on as a sub. Stock was not in the squad for the game due to an injury, which must have left him gutted. England began with a fast tempo, more determined than ever to finally win a final. Flawless Thaw had a good chance but smashed his shot low into the side netting. Belgium then responded with George Worst cutting inside and bending a shot at goal which Weatherall tipped over. They then had another chance which Weatherall saved, and Walrus then hit the side netting up the other end. It was an end to end game. On 39 minutes a cross came in from the Bayliss and midfielder Paul Jones jumped up and steered a header home to put England 1 - 0 up. Belgium hit bac and bombarded the England goal, with Weatherall making several important stops. They then launched a deadly counter-attack which saw Walrus drop out wide right and float a delicious cross in for Bayliss to head England 2 - 0 up, a great end to the half. The second half was all Belgium, they had chance after chance until eventually they got their goal. A scramble happened in the England penalty area and Mertes was fouled. Jaquet stepped up and buried the spot kick. England brought on Diver to sure up the midfield and Weatherall made another good save to deny the Belgians. 90 minutes were up and England had finally won the European Championship! Everybody got a medal except for the injured Stock.

Except Shorty Phelan who will be remembered as the Jimmy Greaves of this tournament.

YESSS!!!! fecking get in, captain fantastic.

its all josé's fault, if i had any input i would refuse to play for england as long as he is the manager, i would have p'wned the tournament

plus i was in the world team of the year, where were you?

Too busy buying all the granite blocks outside the emirates and putting naughty slogans on them.

I know you are, I said you are, so what am I?

Solius, have the UAE won the Asian Cup at all?

Will check next time I load it up and let you know.

hell yeah. Walrus on fire.

Sadly, due to my terrible natural fitness, i expect i will start deteriorating within a season or two. Nonetheless, the Walrus has had a fine career.

I don't know if it's natural fitness that determines how a player deteriorates, though. It seems random - you can have fully professional and fit players deteriorating early.
