FM Experiment Update 2018/2019

1. Cinadine Cidane (Fiorentina)

Another poor season from Fiorentina, slightly improving on last years 7th to 6th but still no champions league football. No extended cup run either but at least they have a crack at the Europa League next season. Cidane again had another great season, top rated player, top scorer and cementing a place in the hearts of the Viola fans by making it into the favoured personnel. He's currently wondering about his future, but seems happy enough to stay.

Random info: Not much news to report this season, a very quiet one for Cinadine.

2. Cw1984 (Manchester United)

A better season for United, finishing in third position. But over 20 points behind the team ahead of them means it looks like the Premier League has become a two horse race. Knocked out early in all competitions the furthest they got was the quarter final of the Europa League, and this prompted a huge change. The much loved Laurent Blanc was given the boot and then the impossible happened. A fat spanish waiter waddled into town and his goatee must have impressed the Glazers as they offered him the job the day after sacking Blanc. He was only in charge for the last 6 matches but it must be said that they went unbeaten in that time, beating permanent champs Arsenal in the process. Is this the start of a Rafalution? And will Rafa be the man to finally bring back trophies to Old Trafford? :nervous:

CW had a solid season, no injuries meant he played the most games out of anyone and he was also very consistant with only Rooney ahead of him in the ratings stake. 6 goals to his name keep up his record of scoring in every of his professional seasons so far, but you have to wonder that after his brilliant performances at CM for England why he's still stuck at left back for United.

Random Info: CW keeps his place in the Premiership team of the year for the fifth season running.

3. Diver (Arsenal)

Arsenal did it again, again, again and again. It is now the eighth season in a row now that Arsenal have won the league. But this time they also won the Community Shield, League Cup, FA Cup and Champions League. They're pretty damn good and Diver is a huge part of that. Sat at the back stopping the goals going in he is their most capped outfield player this season and his 7 goals is by far his best contribution up the other end. In the air he lost more headers than he won, but on the ground he is a brick wall.

Random Info: Personal accolades are hard to come by for defenders, but he did come third in the player's player of the year award.

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/xander45/Untitled-48.jpg

4. Hassan Emirati (Juventus)

Juve blew it. After leading Serie A since December they threw the title away. Three losses in their last 4 league games meant they not only lost the league but finished third again! They also lost the Italian Cup final which could partly be blamed for the loss of form at the crucial time. Hassan had a solid season, playing a lot of games and scoring and making more goals than ever before, but it wasn't enough in the end. Juve and Hassan, continue as the nearly men.

Random Info: Hassan will miss out on the Asian Nations Cup due to a rib injury.

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/xander45/Untitled-49.jpg

5. Alex Hemming (AC Milan)

If losing one game was bad for Milan last season, then this season was calamatous. Finishing fifth and missing out the Champions League is not good enough for an AC team so used to success in recent times. A tropyless season will heap the pressure on current boss Ancelotti and we will see how he responds, goals were the main problem the top scorer (and only player in double figures) was Gourcuff with 14. Hemming was in a more creative mood this season, setting up 8 a personal best, playing at right back he has more freedom to roam forward.

Random Info: Hemming was named Serie A defender of the year and European defender of the year.

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/xander45/Untitled-50.jpg

6. Jacob (Napoli)

Napoli dropped a couple of places to fourth but keep their spot in the all important Champions League places. Sadly they didn't win a trophy but getting to the semi-finals of both the Champions League and Italian Cup is not a bad return for little Napoli. Jacob's season was more subdued than usual, not even being in the top five players at his club. He still scored 11 goals though so it shows the level we're talking about here.

Random Info: Jacob was in the team of the week twice this season, a personal best!

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/xander45/Untitled-52.jpg

7. Dennis Law (R. Madrid)

They just can't get past Barca! Again finishing second and again by only a point. It's must be very frustrating for Law who was again majestic. 41 in 53 is ridiculous stuff from the Scot (including 6 against Osasuna in one game), and again he was named World and European player of the year. At the rate he's going he'll beat Raul's goal scoring record in a couple of seasons time! Real did win a trophy though, the Europa League. They were knocked out embarrasingly in the group stages of the Champions League but won the joke version in easy fashion, beating Leverkusen in the final (and Law didn't score in it!).

Random Info: Dennis is now the highest goal scorer in the scottish national teams history and also holds the fastest goal record, 31 seconds against Moldova.

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/xander45/Untitled-53.jpg

8. Cristiano Lazytov (Chelsea)

The further Chelsea fall down the league the better Lazytov gets! 14th was the best they could muster and it spelt the end of Aguirre and the start og Moyes' reign, but Lazytov didn't mind. His best season yet with 11 goals (Chelsea's top scorer) and 9 assists has earnt the attention of two powerhouses... West Ham and Sunderland. He was also the highest rated player at Chelsea but still can't break into the England squad.

Random Info: His workrate is now 9, i think there may be hope yet!

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/xander45/Untitled-54.jpg

9. Legold Legster (Real Madrid)

Only Casillas played more games than Legold this season for Madrid. Another valiant effort at the title with no reward, but the Spanish cup and the Europa League title will do for now. Legold grabbed just the one goal this season, the winner in the semi-final of the Spanish Cup, but got 10 assists which isn't a bad little return for the Serb.

Random Info:
Tutoring a young lad called Ruben Garcia.

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/xander45/Untitled-55.jpg

10. Karan Mittal (Chelsea)

Another poor season for Chelsea and not the best one for Mittal. Out for 2 months through various injuries and only playing 31 games meant he couldn't do a whole lot about Chelsea's erratic form. He's even started making noises about moving away from the Zola Arena, and he didn't get a goal all season in competitive matches!

Random Info: Friends with scottish right back Hamish Templeton.

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/xander45/Untitled-56.jpg

11. Rasmus Nilsson (Bayern Munich)

Rasmus is enjoying life in Germany, having his best season to date. Helping Bayern to the League and Cup double. Rasmus scored 14 goals and set up 8 more but did pick up 2 red cards, a record but not one to be proud of. He really is starting to look like one hell of a winger.

Random Info: Rasmus seems to get offered a new contract every season! This one runs out in 2024.

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/xander45/Untitled-57.jpg

12. niMic (Lyon)

Lyon had a great season, winning the league and the cup and luckily niMic manages to get his hands on the medals. He only started 4 games all season and came on as a sub 12 times. Not really a lot can be said about his season other than he score 3 goals in his limited appearances. He seems to do this at every club he goes to, have a good first season and then not play much for the next, don't be surprised to see him move on next season.

Random Info: niMic's squad status is indispensible. Tell that to the manager!

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/xander45/Untitled-58.jpg

13. Alwyn Payne (Juventus)

Another personal best season for Alwyn, but the bottling Juve leave the season empty handed. 18 goals, 12 assists is a fantastic return and the third best player for Juve can have no complaints about his efforts.

Random Info: He's considering a new contract with Juve.

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/xander45/Untitled-59.jpg

14. Paz (Juventus)

Not as good as his last season, but still not bad. 8 goals and 14 assists are still respectable but he too must be very dissapointed at the way Juve crumbled at the end of the season.

Random Info:
Was only named in the team of the week once this season.

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/xander45/Untitled-60.jpg

15. Psmith (FC Bayern)

Being at Bayern is basically a sure fire way to have success. League and cup in the bag, but no European adventures of note. Top scorer and best player for Bayern this season, 27 in 36, he just scores goals for fun.

Random Info: Came runner up in both European player and striker of the year.

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/xander45/Untitled-61.jpg

16. Chris Searl (Inter)

A better season for Inter, pushing Roma all the way but just falling short in finishing second. Searl was out for 13 weeks this season, but still put in a great shift 5 goals and 7 assists isn't bad, but he could do better. Sadly no trophies or personal accolades but the improvement is clear to see and Inter are a team to look out for next season.

Random Info: Chris is now regarded as a world-class midfielder.

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/xander45/Untitled-62.jpg

17. Shorty Phelan (Juventus)

Again top scorer and best player at Juve, but again missing out on Serie A top scorer! 29 goals is not be sniffed at though and he's become the man Juve turn to when things look tough. A trophyless season must annoy the man but surely one season it will all click for Juve.

Random Info: Shorty is tutoring Silviano Micciche, whoever he is.

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/xander45/Untitled-63.jpg

18. Ubor Skolskov (Juventus)

He seems to have taken a step back in recent seasons, playing deeper but still grabbing 11 goals and 12 assists you can't grumble with his efforts. His numbers make great reading with more 20's than you could shake a stick at but no trophies is what really matters, regardless of what the new United boss would tell you.

Random Info: He was named World footballer of the year and runner up in the european midfielder of the year.

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/xander45/Untitled-64.jpg

19. Sam Stock (Inter)

Sam's goalscoring form wasn't that great this season. 17 in 51 with 17 assists isn't bad, but by his high standards he could do more. But then again he is playing on the right wing, so maybe i'm being harsh on him! No trophies but an improvement in the league means that new champions Roma may have to look out next year.

Random Info: He was named foreign player of they year runner up.

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/xander45/Untitled-65.jpg

20. Flawless Thaw (Inter)

Barcelona finally caved in and bought their first caftard. 34.5 million was enough to persuade him to make the move to the Nou Camp and he hasn't looked back. Winning the spanish and european super cup, the club world championship and finishing runners-up in the champions league and winning the La Liga. Not bad for your first season. Playing the holding role behind Aguero, Iniesta, Bojan and Messi he still managed to score 11 goals and get 11 assists and play 51 games. Good times for Flawless.

Random Info: I put here last season he must be getting sick of not winning anything, i somehow think that isn't the case now.

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/xander45/Untitled-66.jpg

21. Walrus (Arsenal)

Only 29 in 44 for Walrus this season. But i'm sure he'll take that in exchange for the success that Arsenal have had this season. His best season though ratings wise, 7.46 in the league, means he is becoming more of an all round player rather than just a poacher.

Random Info: They won everything! Walrus scored in the finals of the FA cup and the winner in the Champions League against Barca.

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/xander45/Untitled-67.jpg

22. Ed Weatherall (Arsenal)

62 games and 40 clean sheets for a team that won everything and keeping a clean sheet in every final of the season. He is some sort of super keeper now, and good things do come to those who wait.

Random Info: Missed three weeks of the season with an ankle knock.

http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv45/xander45/Untitled-68.jpg

23. George Worst (Arsenal)

Another integral cog in the Arsenal machine, it's funny really none of the caftards (bar Ed) had their best seasons yet they all pulled together to create this amazing feat of five trophies in one season. 9 goals and 13 assists is nowhere near his best but as with Walrus he won't give a shit.

Random Info: Voted Players player of the year and European Midfielder of the year.

England

With England hostin the Euros in 2020 there is no need for the majority of caftards to qualify!

Ireland

Third in their group behind Ukraine and Portugal, a tough one to call seeing as Ireland have already played on more than their rivals it'll be hard for them.

Scotland

Top of their group ahead of Spain, Law top scores (no surprise there!) but they've only conceded two goals which is a fantastic achievement. They look certain to qualify.

Sweden

Top of a group featuring Bulgaria and Croatia, they are only a point ahead though so a very tight group.

Norway

Hemming has been named permanent captain and he tries to lead them to the Euros. They sit second at the moment but have only won one of their first three games, turkey and Greece the main opposition.

Serbia

Second in their group behind Russia they have a game in hand though so we'll see how that goes, very tight groups this season.

Russia

Top of the group with Serbia right behind them, it'll be hard to call this group.

Belgium

Second behind Holland, but there is no real other opposition in that group. Playoffs should be theirs at least.

India

Mittal's India have the Asian Nations to worry about this post season, I'll try to update this soon.

UAE

In the same Asian cup group as India, these two should get through this stage but who will win it?

I knew it!

If 7.02 makes Lazytov Chelsea's best performer...

Chelsea have been shite mate, you really are top scorer and best player. Although i just move forward up to the end of the transfer window. Chelsea have signed a new striker and you're back on the bench, and you are now unhappy and feel you've achieved all you can with them, you'll have to wait until January now though.

Now I know how Caveman feels. :(

What formation does Aguirre play?

In the previous Experiment I did, one of the players was one of the best players in the world, getting both assists and goals from CM/AM. And he was playing for United. And then United hired another manager, who consistently used two DM's in midfield, meaning one of the best players in the world was left on the bench.

Shit happens

If Lazytov was one of the best players in the world then maybe that would apply ;)

For those of you who are interested in taking part in the FM10 Experiment as well, take a look at the FM10 thread. I'm actually well on my way to being able to make it, but there are one or two things that need working out.

Sign-ups are on now (though to be fair, they've been "on" since I said I wanted to do another Experiment). There's 15 people right now, and we could easily do with some more. Not 15 more, hopefully, but some :p

i must be fast on the way to becoming an Arsenal legend. good stuff.
