Yeah, thought he would last a round or two yet. But that's two excellent and complementary picks from KM.
 
KM's gone on his usual building a defense around Beckenbauer which I think is the biggest con, and to a lesser extent the same with Scirea though you can still be a bit more flexible with Scirea but not Beckenbauer. If you don't get the right 4 players to compliment Kaiser he does look out of place at times. I think it is best to play him in midfield in a modern formation which is where I think he would have played had he been born 30 odd years later. We did that in the last all time draft and it worked quite well, and it should really. Think that's a lot less tedious than building a proper 5 man defense for him even thought that does put him in his favoured role.
 
That's why I wouldn't like getting Beckenbauer, I think sticking him in midfield works fine but people dont really associate him there and it isnt where he was at his best - for the middle I think Matthaus is a better pick than Beckenbauer.

It's hard to pull off a 5 man defence but if KM does it he's definitely getting huge credit from me.

It's pretty much pointless at this stage, even if I had PM'd the players I was considering picking it wouldn't have mattered as they all got taken before my turn anyway.

Yeah, pms will only work if you're going offline just a couple of picks before its your turn, then you can pm a short list to someone that's neutral. I understand that as it is now, picks are dependent on lots of different factors so you can't really say definitively who you'll want.

There's not a chance he could tell this far in advance. Maybe later rounds once options are more limited, but not now.

It looks like everyone after him has called it a night though. Do check in before going back to bed again mate! :lol:

Iso, please stick around tomorrow. I guess we will soon get into the swing of things but in the meantime we have to make an effort over the fact that both you and Jayvin are upside down timewise but not picking consecutively: he is off, everyone goes to bed, he comes, but by the time everyone comes on you are gone... This could take ages that way.
 
Not pointing fingers, that'sn how it is. Just saying we have to work our way around it, and that includes those between Jayvin and Iso.
 
I've been in previous drafts. People haven't had any problem with me before, though.
 
I'll be up for another 12 hours so hopefully we can get a couple of rounds of picks in during that time.

As I said, it's not about anyone causing problems, it's natural when we are in different time zones. The sequencing of Jayvin's and your picks, with some Europeans sandwiched in between doesn't bode well though.

It means the top 6 managers have to keep an eye on these dynamics and make sure they login late/early/as may be the case once they get the hang of it (or PM picks once we are in later turns).
 
I have no problem with reducing the max. pick up time. As it is, 6 hrs in between.

Just saw Schnellinger has gone. I had him on my shortlist but I don't know much about him and I certainly didn't think he would go so soon. Can anyone enlighten me? Full/wing backs from those days are always tricky to figure out and fit into a traditional defense. Is he highly regarded and second round pick material?
 
Yea I would say he was a good pick considering he had Kaiser and Schnellinger would be great in a 5 man backline on the left. You are proabably right that he could have left him for a round probably as he's not the most popular name either, but it covered a couple of bases for him so I can understand that he didn't want to risk it.

I got Schnellinger at round 8 in the all time fantasy draft but then this time the decades are playing its part.
