With the personnel you have at this stage I'd go for a XMAS tree with Henry up top and Zidane + AN other behind him. Suárez as DLP and Souness and AN other supporting and protecting him. There are tonnes of players who could be fine as the other CM or inside right/AMR.

You need attacking fullbacks pronto, particularly on the right. There's still an obvious pick or two out there for you. One in particular is a no-brainer.

He was injured in 82. The problems with Jupp Derwall were after the world cup. Beckenbauer asked him to come back, when he took over in 84, but Schuster's wife (basically his agent back then) wanted 1 million for him to take part at the world cup 86, which of course wasn't possible. Greedy fecker and a huge idiot, but what a brilliant player.
