The Redcafe Champions League Draft

I'm logging off now until tomorrow (may be online in the morning for a few minutes). Can I PM my next pick to an unbiased and impartial observer? It would be much appreciated.

It's difficult to perceive sarcasm when neither of us know who we are talking about :smirk:

Why do you qualify that? Am I not unbiased and impartial?

Good pick that. THat's what I meant when telling Jake not to worry about the wingers being from the very top drawer. The gap is nowhere near as sizeable as the impact Messi can have upfront.

I actually wasted a few minutes searching for a "tito" the first time I had to PM him.

Who did come up with that?

anyway, good pick kps

I'll go for Grosso

I'm picking in a second, just need to be like 99% sure of which player to go for, quite torn between two..

 It was all down to the character limit on PMs when we played in the all-time draft. Writing thisistheone every fecking time meant I couldn't lay out half my tactics so I rebranded him TITO.

I've no idea how this player will be recieved in a draft like this since he is young and hopefully haven't had his peak yet, but already over 100 games for us, but he has been absolute quality this season and doesn't take up a CL winner spot.

Didn't he win it in 08? The rule said - All teams must have at least 4 non-Champions League winners in their starting line up - A winner is any player who played an active part in a Champions League winning campaign..

Did he play an active part?

Didn't play any games that season according to Transfermarkt at least

Who did come up with that?

I knew there was something REALLY funny about the coincidence of picking TITO as an acronym so looked it up.Remember this?

Only one vote in it as TITO voted.
It's catching on! All hail PM-character limits for renaming thisistheone
TITO is back :p
TITO addressed the balance issue and shored up his defense. He should be winning this IMO.
Tito is such a nice manager, would be a travesty if he lost this now, like Bobby Robson losing to Mourinho
This is basically whats just happened there

Got a quite good left back in mind mainly, the goalkeeper will depend on if the left back is still available when it's my round again, which I doubt sadly. Already got 3 out of 4 non-winners, so there is good options left over I think.

I have no clue how long he has been with us - feels like forever

Loving that whole midfield!

I've decided to get my first-choice goalkeeper in now as my final two spots need to be non-Champions League winners, and I'm fairly certain that nobody will have thought of them (at least one of them anyway!). I didn't want to gamble for my goalkeeper until the next round as I can see a scramble for goalkeepers starting very, very soon...

Anyway, I choose 'The Great Dane' himself, Peter Schmeichel. In my opinion, the best goalkeeper in the draft. One of the all-time great goalkeepers who's up there with the likes of Yashin and Zoff. There difference I see between Schmeichel and other goalkeepers in this draft is that they will go down as good (in some cases very good) goalkeepers in a generation, whereas Schmeichel is already lauded as one of the all-time greats. A must-have in my opinion and another fantastic leader to have in my starting XI beside the likes of Xavi, Ballack, Raúl and van Nistelrooy.
