How is he even mentioning Canelo, and how does Canelo need him in any way, shape or form? Saying that, I’d love to see Canelo slap the feck out of him

The Taylor Serrano fight was a great dust up. Katie got very lucky with that decision. Surprised it was unanimous in her favour. I thought Serrano had it.

Canelo looks Irish

Paul shutting his haters up.
I wouldn't say that. He beat an old who has a knee injury.

Tyson struggled to walk to the ring. He stopped to balance himself before getting in the ring and he was off balance moving around the ring with his feet too close together. This version of Tyson was a shadow of the Tyson that had an exhibition vs Jones Jnr let alone the tyson who retired 20 years ago

The only way Paul shuts the haters up is when he fights legitimate fighters that still have a pulse.

But we know he'll not fight someone who is a prime boxer in the top 10.

His disciples will put this across as a legitimate win and as some big feat when in reality, this version of tyson wouldn't last a minute against any prime legitimate boxing heavyweight
This is why someone needs to beat him to a pulp and teach him exactly what it takes to be called a professional boxer. It's not about him selecting fights he knows he'll win.

This sorry excuse for a contest will have put millions of people off watching or commenting on any of his fights again, so in a way they're right.
I hope you're right.

This sort of thing belongs to circus organisations like Pride.(are they still about) where you seen 7ft guys fighting 140lb midgets and Bobby Sapp getting beat by everyone big and small

Mike can barely walk. Can't react to punches and is barely able to throw anything cohesively.

Paul is carrying him and trying to make it look competitive.

Everything about that was so fecking cringe.

I guess tyson won't give a shit. He just got paid over $200k for every punch he threw. Over $1m per punch landed. Not a bad return for someone who retired 20 years ago and was fighting a guy who wasn't even born when he won his last title.

It got very awkward during the match that’s for sure

Mike looked done, and Paul didn’t want too seriously hurt him, a 58 year old man, so he was quite clearly holding back but also wanted too make it entertaining, which backfired because this was far from entertaining

Just a total awkward fest

It’s not a disgrace too boxing, because this isn’t boxing, I have no problems with it on that front, but I guess more disgrace too entertaining? Just so boring

The Tyson - Paul thing to me is peak what is wrong with so much of sports today. People more interested in scripted big money bs than proper competition and athleticism.

Sports? Isn’t it mainly a boxing problem?

You would hope that this was embarrassing but its not. The Jake Paul fans who are all teenagers will think he is a God for beating Mike. They made millions cheating the public and they will do it again. Just give it a few weeks and it will be Jake Paul takes on Alverez or Mr Beast or some other sht. Everyone will just get sucked in again. Half just to see him knocked out and the other half because they teenage love him. And it will probably be Alverez who should beat the sht out if him but he won't. It will be another points win either way. Depending on discussions before the fight

Fight went as everybody expected. The reaction I don't think did. Maybe this will signal the end of these joke fights now the public and press alike are turning on them.

Meh, i can easily imagine that it will get slightly more professional and that this is essentially how boxing will continue to evolve, WWE but with gloves

It felt like a watershed moment when the gallery kept panning to the crowd to a minimum as the majority of those spectators looked like it had dawned on them that this was an old man who can barely stand up was getting dangerously close to seriously injured but for the mercy of a YouTube boxer. The spectacle was over by the 2nd round’s end and then things started to get painfully awkward.

This might be a massive backfire in the end for Netflix. The media response can alter the future of these sham bouts, for sure.

Whoever sanctioned this fight, what were they thinking !
That many people will be fooled by the hype that an almost 60 year old legend who was cooked way before he retired decades ago would have any chance against an active fighter half his age, even in it's Jake Paul.

Each cut of his impressive looking training highlight clips were never more than a few seconds long. I'll watch the highlights and see if there was anything of note.

Not that any of us lot will care about Mikes retirement pot

But I guess from Mikes point of view, Jake has given him the opportunity too rake up $20 million for 20 mins worth of work.

Sadly, that could well mean he wants more but after that performance, is it wanted?

That was so so so so great it makes me sad we don't see this sort of thing happen in other sports. What is the 1994 CL winning AC Milan team up to? Get them to play Man City tomorrow.

No - get them to play Bromley FC tomorrow and watch them (AC Milan) get destroyed or watch Bromley players take it easy on them out of respect.

I just wonder how this circus made it into the boxing thread.....shouldn't it just be in the entertainment forum if that is what you call it?

Hopefully it's enough money that he doesn't need to do it again. But he's had financial issues in the past so who knows.

But if he doesn't NEED to do it financially I don't think he'd WANT to do it, purely because it's got to bruise his ego.

That said, he might now be thinking that he can't let this be his last fight and try to chase a last hurrah.

Who knows what goes on in the minds of these ultra competitive, mega wealthy elite athletes.

Jake Paul will be thinking he’s best in the world now after beating a 58 year old man. Where’s all the proper boxing gone?
