Arenyeka managed to stay till the end, gotta give it to him defensively, but nothing there offensively.

Whittaker has a lot of ground to cover in his development, and his lack of punch power is an issue
Was coming in to say that. He's feather-fisted and he gets caught a lot. He doesn't have bombs in his hands to make every awkward angle shot a possible fight ender like a Nas or RJJ.

Don't see him going to the top and it looks like a matter of time before he gets sparked clean out.

Yeah said the same last night. Naz could end fights when he wanted to - especially against the journeyman/lower ranked fighters. Whittaker doesn't have that power to do so, he's very talented and some of the angles and combinations he throws are exceptional but I don't think his style will translate to taking on the top guys with his lack of power.

Yeah and I think that’s a big part of why he gets caught on exits, as his opponents are trading with him, not respecting the power of the shot, where with guys like Nas, the same shot would’ve really hurt them and left them reeling in recovery mode.

As he goes up the division, the better fighters will really punish his pillow hands and purposely exchange, and those shots he’s getting clipped with now instinctively and speculatively will be intended and tactical with enough venom on them to put him out.

The way he is now, it feels like a dead cert that is just a matter of time.

Good, I might tune in to see him get sparked out

Not unless he fights Parker or Fury. I think he walks through Dubois.

Not sure Joshua vs Parker would interest people much more than the usual interest AJ generates. Not because it won't be a tough fight, but because we've already seen it once. Vs Fury would get everyone hyped.

What the feck is wrong with Garcia?
He's lost the plot. Imagine a shittier De La Hoya but with ten times the worse outside the ring nonsense. He might have some casual fans still into him but I think he's lost the boxing crowd for good.

Shakur booed from the ring again at the weekend after another boring performance. Keeps blaming it on the level of the fighter he's facing, he needs to step it up next fight and face one of the other champions.

The most recent episode of" It is what it is" went in on him.

He wants Loma next apparently.

Shakur-Zepeda is the fight to make - hopefully the WBC order it. Consider he's been complaining about opponent's not coming to fight, it's the perfect test for him stylistically. Plus Zepeda might just be the best 135lb'er on the planet if recent performances are anything to go by, let's see him in with one of the elite already. Dude is #1 with EVERY governing body which is absurd.

It's more a question of if Golden Boy really wants to make that fight. Stevenson is one of the worst "high risk / low reward" opponent you can imagine. There's possibly easier belts to go after or the hope of making a Tank fight for Zepeda.

That said, it's a good fight on paper. You'd feel that if someone has the tools to force Shakur out of his comfort zone & overcome his defense, it's Zepeda.

Wouldn't mind seeing him jump straight in with Tank.

It's honestly entirely up to Tank / GTD / PBC if they give that fight or not...
Right now the mood is rather Tank-Loma. Shakur will at least need a fight until then. Zepeda seems the biggest he could get at 135 and the only one that could raise his profile (and thus convince PBC there's a juicy PPV to make there).
That's a pretty rotten gift to make to Zepeda and probably not the biggest paycheck but if it is the only belt shot available...

Nathan Heaney's dream fight at the Bet365 stadium isn't to be, he lost his British title to Brad Pauls last night after a 12th round KO.

Speaking of Pauls, check out this absolute weapon...

Heaney-Pauls went similar to their first fight except Pauls got to him a bit earlier this time. The difference in strength and power was too much.

Heaney seems a really decent bloke, he’s really squeezed the most of a limited amount of ability. He’ll probably admit he exceeded his expectations and I wouldn’t expect him to hang around in the sport as he seems intelligent.

The fact Jake Paul is selling PPV’s and talking pure shite whilst not actually facing any boxers blows my mind. They are always smaller than him, inactive and have no power. Absolute bell whiff.

Jake is such a doofus. Really wish he'd fight a relatively high level boxer in his own weight class to get humbled.

Chisora will never be a world champion but jeez he does put on a good fight and the crowd love him.

What a warrior, really enjoyable fight but Joyce has fell off a cliff

Chisora is an absolute legend. Win or lose, he makes fights so entertaining. He's worth his weight in gold to promoters.

Kinda wish he would lose for the sake of his health but you're right, he's gold for promoters and he's a warrior.

Joyce is incapable of moving his slab head. He really needs to give it up now.

What a turd joust Joyce-Chisora was; neither able to get out of the way of anything and little skill on show.

The post fight interviews were acting like it was Hagler-Hearns.

Joyce needs to retire.

Basing your career on blocking shots with your chin is always going to catch up with you sooner or later.

Bakole the undisputed, unified world sparring stories heavyweight champion fights tonight. Make no mistake, he's good, but I have no respect for people who try to build themselves up with sparring stories. I suspect he'll be too good for Anderson

Close fight. Not the most entertaining but Crawford edges out a decision. Madrimov is super elite but Crawford is an all time great.

Weird that there seemed to be a British media blackout of some serious fights last night

Ortiz-Bohachuk apparently in the running for fight of the year (alongside Ioka-Martinez).

Also a spectacular KO in Angelo Leo - Venado Lopez.

Conor Benn reportedly entered straight into #3 in the IBF rankings for 147, so functionally #2 because the IBF have that weird thing of keeping a step vacant.

The obvious hint is that he is going to be fed to Jaron Boots Ennis who is now with Matchroom. Nasty.

Benn vs Haney on the Bivol undercard, winner fights Ennis makes sense.

Ennis wipes the floor with the entire division it's why I don't see Haney or Teo moving up, Haney potentially given his frame should be at Welterweight but I imagine him taking the WBC or WBO route for Barrios or Norman Jr.

I don't see Benn taking a fight with Ennis even though it makes business and promotional sense but can see him and Eddie reigniting interest with Manny Pacquiao. There are too many high risk low reward fights for him at 147.

It's not impossible, Pacquaio didn't look good in that exhibition at Super Rizin 3, Benn is as much of a name he maybe doesn't struggle with.

To be bluntly cynical though, Benn is only good to be cashed out. Boots needs names to raise his profile if PBC and Top Rank are not willing to let an unification happen next. There's really not a lot of good contenders in the division and none that would move the needle with casuals (Crowley was dropped from the IBF rankings I believe, who knows when he'll be cleared by medical).

Ennis has the potential and tools to be a big star, I think it's more interesting to built him up than making a last Pacquaio payday that will be average.
