Pretty sure AJ was shouting at him saying “how did you beat me, you’re not skilled, I’m stronger etc”. That was even more strange than when he grabbed the mic.

He must be concussed, I have no idea why they let him have the mic like that.
Yeah, i heard that too. So confusing

Joshua doesn't have anywhere to go from here, does he?
Fury vs Joshua would still be the biggest fight in British history, but it is unlikely to happen anytime soon. Fury would want the lion’s share and Joshua wouldn’t swallow his pride for a likely loss.

Could see Joshua v Wilder maybe, but otherwise he’s better off retiring. Don’t think the clamour is there for one other last home fight either. He’s eroded a lot of support in recent years.

To be fair he didn’t, he said “skills matter more. Look at you, you’re not strong, look at me” then went and did whatever the feck that was with the mic.

I think AJ was actually saying "how did you beat me" rhetorically, and suggesting it was because of skill, and they had some disagreement about exactly why Usyk beat him.

I don't think he was being bitter. At least from what I could gather, it's hard to say given how weird AJ acted.

He said "It isn't about strength, it's skill. You are not strong and you beat me. How did that happen?"

He was basically making the point he tried to make about him not being that level of boxer. The same thing he was saying about not throwing combos like Marciano, seemed to sound like he thought that was a good thing for him. Not sure why but I will put it down to being in a high pressure situation and the adrenaline ect.

Was very odd. He’s lost his mind.

Surely that’s him done now. He might have a few domestic dust ups but can’t see him at the top level.

He never said that he gave Usyk plaudits for his skills

Joshua cuts a WWE style promo in the ring after losing. Minutes later Deontay Wilder's theme music pops and he's running into the ring with his Money in the Bank briefcase. Wilder still loses mind because he's a bum but it was great entertainment.

Then Jake Paul beats both before being challenged by Connor McGregor

Awful from AJ

He will feel embarrassed and disappointed in himself tomorrow. Someone should have stepped in and stopped that.

I thought he was saying, "you had skill but I'm stronger" I dunno, you might be right though.

He's still top level. If he even wants to be. Heavyweight isn't that deep. The problem is, the Fury fight has no credibility now, so there is nothing really to prove if I'm Joshua. Having a dust up with Whyte is okay but if he carries on it will be in the knowledge that he can never really get back to the same heights. So it's really just about paydays.

But he can still hang around if he actually has passion and wants to earn. I don't know why it's always the case that in boxing if you lose to the best there are calls to retire. They don't look at it like that in other combat sports.

No, he was saying skill beat strength. Its why he went on a tirade about he isn't a natural boxer and only got into boxing at 18.

Usyk is a funny man, I would like to see him in a movie or something to that effect.

Smartest manager in boxing. Got himself aligned with Usyk as soon as he was moving up to heavyweight, knowing he’d likely surpass Joshua in the division.

He isn't promoting Usyk, he has had a co promotional deal with Krassyuk and K2 but I am pretty sure Krassyuk was only open to that deal because they wanted the AJ fight and then obviously working together once it happened. I would not be surprised if K2 distance themselves and Usyk now that Joshua is a none factor to them.

He was being humble in defeat, saying that he isn't as skilled as some of the best. His very next line was that about him starting boxing late, unlike most other pros, and him dealing drugs / potentially going to jail. It was a bit incoherent but it was obvious what he was trying to say.

Because he’s set for life financially and we see the damage that boxing does to many fighters who took too many blows. I always find boxing a sad sight outside the highest level for the biggest prizes. It is not worth the risks.

He certainly wasn't being "humble in defeat"

I think you’re projecting more than a little here.

Yeah that makes sense. Still a proper weird way to go about it

Also, AJ and Usyk both ending their speeches by randomly saying bismillah and insha'Allah in the wrong context was hilarious.
