Great performance from AJ, looked lean and mean. Liked how he went back into boxing mode and gave himself a chance to get a second and third wind.. did not just go all out haymaker mode. Disciplined, professional and fierce. Needs to step it up next fight opponent wise... Wilder, Fury, Usyk... one of those three please.

Joshua v Fury will be the biggest fight in British boxing history if it happens in the next year. What a fight. I'll actually pay £ for that!

Wonder how much they'll charge on Box Office... I reckon £35, but honestly, £50 wouldn't even surprise me.

Eddie talks so well he should be a politician. Less talk, more action... let’s see if he backs it up.

Joshua looked great, but Pulev is meh. Still have Fury as heavy favorite vs him.

ok. Fury's a great fighter, he's also the man I watched go life and death with john mcdermott. Joshua has a better resume.

Much better.

Fury’s a lovely boxer, no doubt, but the fights against that utter windwill muppet have gotten people way too giddy about Fury.

If he beats AJ, it’ll be from running around for 12 rounds, he won’t be “playing with him”.

Usyk will be too small for this level.

Surely £50 would be too much? As a casual and someone willing to pay for that fight, £50 would be a step too far.

Exactly. Wilder can't box and as a result, people have overrated Fury. Again, he's great, but he lacks the power needed to keep joshua at bay for 12 rounds. Johsua has serious firepower, and is well trained.

Oh definitely, but it wouldn't surprise me... Sky will milk it for all its worth.

More likely it'll be £30/35 but yeah... This fight was £25 so it'll be a step up from that at the very least you autos think.

Would actually like Joshua v Wilder as you know it wouldn’t last long a bit lake Haye v Maccarinelli

Fury v Joshua has to happen next i edge towards Tyson but it’s heavy weight boxing and with AJ’s punch power anything can happen, would be a great fight they better not deny the fans this..

AJ/Tyson won’t fight until there’s a full stadium, I’d bet a large sum on that. I do wonder if a lot of Fury’s fans have ever watched him fight, bar the two Wilder fights. All you see from Fury fans are comments about how AJ is fighting bums, it’s weird considering Tyson’s record.

Looking at the comments on social media, I’d like to see a breakdown of the people who actively dislike both AJ and Lewis Hamilton.

If they did fight I think it’d be a different AJ that we’ve seen in recent fights. I think he’d let his hands go earlier, seeing as he’d be giving up the range and height advantage he usually has

Not sure about that. Serious questions about Joshua‘s stamina for me, every time he’s thought somebody half decent he’s looked fecked late on, I think Fury will out box him with ease.

It’s not like you need mega power to put Joshua on his ass either is It.

I love Hamilton but prefer Fury over AJ. Pretty much as Fury is obviously a flawed guy who has been to the top and to the bottom then battled his demons and gone right back to the top even maybe out of condition and probably against good advice.

Could you imagine AJ’s first meaningful fight back after a few years being against Wilder?

Joshua has definitely been in the ring with better fighters, I am a big Joshua fan and I think Fury will be slight favourite. But that is due to Fury running for 12 rounds and fighting at range. I don't think it would be an entertaining fight and fury would win on points. Joshua has the power but I am concerned about his chin and stamina.

Dear British boxing fans

Please don’t make AJ/Fury about race. Lets just enjoy the 2 best heavyweights in the world both being British & watch them go to war.

Thanks

Hopefully it would not be as I am sure Fury has had his own problems with the disgusting prejudices against Gypsy/Travellers as I am sure AJ has had against racists.

Good luck to them both.

An aged Wlad who underestimated him and who never got a chance for a rematch, and an absolutely awful boxer.

Neither are close to the threat of AJ, don’t kid yourself.

Weird logic throwing the aged Wlad comment around seeing as an even older Klitschko remains AJ’s best victory to date, in an extremely close back and forth contest which Fury managed to look quite comfortable, fighting in Germany of all places. Disagree with the thrust of the point as Wlad looked sensational right up to his retirement and he’s notorious for keeping in shape. There was no belief at the time that he was past his best and if you’ve followed his career you’d agree that his dismantling of Pulev and Povetkin (both undefeated at the time) were two of Klitschko’s greatest ever wins - he was 37/38 then and right before he met Fury.

Agree that Wilder is an unorthodox and unsophisticated boxer but only a fool would disregard the threat his power poses given it’s decimated everyone he’s ever faced not named Fury. I think you’re underestimating the challenge in evading a puncher like Wilder for 12 rounds and as the fights against Ortiz showed it’s a genuine equaliser against superior skill. Tbh I reckon Wilder poses real issues for AJ as I don’t think he’s capable of evading him for 12 rounds, albeit he’s been a bit more cautious and evasive in the second fight against Ruiz and tonight against Pulev.

Nevertheless , A Wlad thoroughly dominated in his home town, and an absolutely awful boxer who put away Povetkin who isn't.

I'd like AJ to win. I've really warmed to him since showing the fortitude in becoming a two time Champ after losing them in such of ignominious circumstances against Ruiz.

It's an intriguing fight.

Lool at anyone baulking at paying over the odds for a AJ /Fury fight -

Pay for it, stream it, use your Nana's credit cards. Its not a fight anyone remotely interested in boxing can miss.

I get pretty annoyed in general whenever I see anyone talking in certainties, especially when it’s about something like heavyweight boxing. It seems like a lot of Fury’s fan are the worst for it.

I get the point about his mental health problems, I hope that is inspiring for people who need it. If we’re talking about out of the ring stuff though, it’s what completely turns me off him. His comments on a number of topics have been disgusting, and I would struggle to support someone who’s said those things.

Good points well made about Fury but sometimes just because we prefer a particular guy it isn’t necessarily about race. Can imagine twitter being an absolute cesspit of racism and quite frankly I am not interested in reading it.

Knock him out Tyson :)

Oh, just to be clear, as I saw someone else refer to the comment about race. I was specifically talking about social media and no one on here. I tried to make it clear in my post.

You’ve got the right idea though, I don’t know why I bother reading replies and comments. Habit I guess.

Fair play and yeah you can go down the rabbit hole reading replies.

Anyway it should be a cracking fight and could be a good ‘post Covid‘ remedy.

Didn’t actually like Jonny Nelson saying AJ/Joshua would be the most exciting fight of his lifetime. Maybe British wise it would be in with a shout but I’d still say Eubank/Benn but worldwide compared to Tyson/Spinks, Lewis/Tyson and Mayweather/ Pacquiao it is not comparable.

.....and they’d still probably charge £50 for it

Joshua has to be the most overhyped athlete in history, it’s so cringeworthy. Being the massive bitch that he is, that’s quite an achievement.

The “he hasn’t fought anyone good enough” argument isn’t even necessary - remember he got humiliated by an overweight schoolboy last year.

If you guys want to actually assess him as a boxer then you need to take off your Sky blinkers. He’s a much better Instagram feckboy than he is a boxer, which makes sense given how insecure he is.

And regarding that weird comment a few posts above about this being a race issue - no, I would consider Lewis Hamilton an absolute legend in his field. If you genuinely think anyone who doesn’t love AJ is a racist then you’ve completely lost it.
