Expected Jack to win last night, a prime Stevenson would probably take him easily. Kovalev should handle both assuming Ward hasn’t taken all of his heart.

What's been going on with Adonis these last few years? Last time I watched him properly is when he was beating the likes of Boone, Cloud, Dawson and Bellew. After the Bellew fight he was looking like he'd go on to conquer boxing and become a big name, but I've barely heard from him since.

Just no big fights at the weight anymore? In his prime I think he'd have took Kovalev and given Ward a good fight. I hoped he'd step up the weight because he'd have been exciting at HW, but I don't know if that was ever realistic.

Stevenson only really fights Haymon guys (unless it’s a tickover fight) and Haymon hasn’t really had any decent LHWs. They’ve all been with Top Rank / Kathy Duva.

Stevenson is a nobody now in the boxing world. Somehow got the draw against Jack, however it was more of a Jack win than anything. Stevenson had a chance after beating Chad Dawson to be p4p for a number of years, instead he just fought bum's or pulled out of negotiations for big fights. The Kov fight was hyped for years until it was definitely not going to happen so Kov fought Ward while Stevenson fought another bum. He's on the decline now and he won't get many big fights. Bivol, Berbetiev and Kov all beat him convicingly.

Kov v Jack would be a decent fight if it can be made.

Seems like Loma is out of options as well if the Mikey G fight doesn't get made. That would be an incredible fight tbf but unsure if it will happen as Mikey G has mentioned moving up in weight. The Crawford fight would have been slightly possible but that's gone now with Crawford moving up, could potentially lead to a Mikey G v Crawford fight.

Loma next opponent will most likely be Beltran now, which is an easy win for him. Linares rematch would be his most challenging fight, whilst G Davis will go nowhere near Loma IMO. Plus he needs a few more big fights before he can take him on I feel.

Sad to hear Dean Francis has passed too.

He had loads of ability but was blighted by injuries.

Just read that Shawn Porter vs Danny Garcia has been agreed for August. Very tough to call. I could see Porter smothering Garcia and roughing him up, but equally you'd think that someone will crack Porter's chin eventually and Garcia has big power and good timing.

Ippo in the flesh, but without the losses and brain damage

Monster was always gonna be a star, could tell as soon as he demolished Narvaez. Kid is a special talent.

No doubt he'll have an anime and manga.

His power is too much for the weight class. Fighters just seem to be in shock from the moment he lands, even on the gloves.

I think it could depend on the ref. If Boxing rules are enforced and Garcia is allowed just a bit of room he's got too much skill for Porter though he's giving up size. Porter has the ugliest style in Boxing now that Andre Ward is retired. Hate that grappling and wrestling. He's a really nice guy but I hope Garcia KO's him and we see the end of Porter.

Will be so so funny if Horn beat Crawford. Horn has become a great meme since his win over Manny. He’s gonna get smoked by Crawford though.

Garcia vs Porter - that’s a good match-up stylistically for Garcia, I give him the edge

I’m fond of him mainly because his name is Jeff.

Crawford to win in the first 6 rounds. Horn may have the size advantage and the experience at that weight, but it's a mismatch for skill. Horn didn't deserve the win over Pacquaio and before that he was fighting bums.

Aye, Porter can be shite to watch unless his style meshes well with someone as in the Thurman fight as @El General 1994 says. Very clinch-heavy, and he seems strangely inaccurate with his punching at times for such a high-level fighter.

Off to Vegas Saturday for Crawford-Horn. Horn and his team have been very annoying in the build-up to this one. I think Crawford is going to slowly and methodically beat Horn down and really take delight in doing so.

The Showtime card is solid but nothing special IMO. Santa Cruz-Mares II is a fairly pointless re-match when you consider what other matches could be made and Trout is too shopworn to bother Charlo too much. Hope I'm wrong and both turn out to be more competitive than that.

This Felix Cash fella reminds me so much of Lucien Bute.

Yes @Inter Yer Nan! Busy weekend for me too, Tyson Fury card as well as UFC blockbuster card.

Agree with Abner Mares v Santa Cruz 2 being a pointless rematch. Charlo's performance will dictate how much more Eddie Hearn will offer him (and twin)
I think the Charlo's will be a double package and that much has been made clear from both. I think as long as he wins the momentum will be building. Both are very exciting fighters and creating a buzz. I just don't like their new found obviously forced thuggish attitude throwing up gang signs and such. People can see right through it and it's corny and fake and I doubt people will buy into it since it's so obviously played up. I do enjoy watching both fight a lot though. Hoping whoever promotes them gives them better marketing strategy.

Yeah, you've got Fury and also Flanagan-Hooker. Expect Flanagan to win that one with something to spare. Hooker got a bit of a gift against Darleys Perez and just isn't overly impressive in general.

If it means Jacobs-Canelo and GGG-Charlo next I’m all for it. The IBF stripping him tells me the Canelo fight is dead because surely they’d have wanted their 3% sanctioning fee on that fight.
Dan Rafael now reporting that negotiations between Canelo and Golovkin have restarted.

That came out of nowhere, thought it was meant to be Whyte-Ortiz?

Those styles mesh for an exciting fight. Could go either way. Whyte can box and has a slight reach advantage too.

Got to fancy Parker on this one.

PPV for that is a joke. Surely not many will willingly pay for that!

Whyte is a pretty big name domestically now but I don't think people would willingly pay to watch him (I think the only UK fighters who do big numbers on PPV is AJ, Fury and Khan vs. Brook.)

I think Parker will beat him. Whyte has improved a bit but isn't that level for me.
