The RedCafe Boxing Thread

They said before the fight one of the judges was an absolute shit show...and I guess we now know who they were talking about

Hearing her name should incite fear into any boxing fan. She has a terrible record. Completely useless.

That's a fecking farce! 118-110? Is that fecking judge on craic.

Seriously, these fights need to be officiated better!

People just don´t get how boxing works. These judges are about 1000 years old by now. The only reason people with their eyesight judge fights is cause they know which scorecards to fill out blind. Didn´t Adalaide Byrd try to judge MMA and shitcanned her ass after like one fight. Stupid ho.

Canelo so full of shit in the MK interview. Lost a bit of respect for him tbh...

I think when you have a monster like GGG run through opponents like he has been, and he get neutralized for long periods by a fighter who looks mostly comfortable throughout, I'm actually only would have been surprised if they gave a win to GGG. A draw seems about right.

Canelo showed better technique imo but gassed middle rounds. Next fight if he works on stamina then he could take it imo.

No, but I know how to score

If you think so. You only have to look at one fighters body language and fighting style in the 12th to know who lost and who didn't.

Absolutely lot of time for AJ, Wlad, Canelo and GGG for putting on two proper epics. But if the sport can't get the judges, then feck it.

Agree.

To give canelo that 8 rounds to 4 is probably the biggest brainfeck in the history of sport.

Canelo does that in the 12th round of literally every fight he's in. The 118-110 card is obviously a disgrace. The draw decision is right though, in my opinion.

SO GLAD I WATCHED THIS ON A STREAM AND DIDNT PAY HBO YOU ROBBING cnuts feck OFF MAN!!!!

He should have touched the body from round 1 to round 8, then gone head. That would change the fight a lot.

GGG took a 6 punch combo and was still right on top of Canelo straightaway. That must destroy Canelo's confidence.

Or maybe GGG was the much more aggressive fighter, the harder working fighter and did more than enough to win. It's fair to say he was robbed, tbh. It was a great fight and Canelo was very good but GGG won that fight. Terrible decision.

Legit no one in history had it for Canelo by more than 1 other than that judge.....80% of the viewers had it towards GGG by anything from 1 to 5 rounds. The other 19.99999999% had it as a draw.

Adelaide Byrd should never ref again. A complete farce.

Old news. Hated her since she had Hopkins as the winner over Calzaghe, but at least that I could kind of see, and at least the right man still won the fight. No-one with two eyes and the power of thought scores that fight 10-2... Except for her.

She's useless.

Yes .. tbh I think both have brilliant chins, so this is more about who can outbox the other rather than who can knock the other guy out. This favours Canelo but perhaps he overate before the fight thinking he needed full weight to handle GGG strength. If he feels he can handle GGG punches at a lesser weight then that would be risky but could give him better mobility and go for a boxing clinic type performance and try and maintain that over more rounds.

On the flip side GGG could possibly land more and somehow take him out but I feel he is more one dimensional whereas Canelo more tactical and can switch things up in terms of approach.
