The RedCafe Boxing Thread

I hope Joshua embarrasses him simply for the shady unsportsman-like shite he pulled vs Fury with dodgy sponge ring surface and his stupid USB prediction. What a tool he has become.
What's this?

Joshua to win in 4 rounds is 5/1 on Skybet, very tempting. Klitschko to win on points at 7/1 seems pretty good too, although it's hard to imagine this fight going beyond half way.

I quite like 7/1 for Wlad on points - good value. Everyone is expecting Joshua to come out quick but surely both will be quite cautious for at least a couple of rounds.

Two very impressive physiques for all natural guys who definitely don't use steroids.

Having watched most of Joshua's fights since he turned pro, I think he is more than ready and will probably stop finish the Klit in round 7. Klit has never fought anyone with the power of Joshua (who does not use steroids as he is all-natty) and his game will not work when Joshua is smashing his way through his guard multiple times each round.

Guys could point in the right direction of where I could find a good stream for this?

Yeah if anyone knows a good acestream source for this definitely don't pm me :)

Just settling in for the next 4 hours. Come on Joshua!

So difficult to pick a winner. Joshua hasn't fought anyone of note and has a mere 18 fights on his rec. Wlad OTOH has nothing to prove, been there and done it.

Has Joshua continued his development enough since his last fight? Who the heck knows? Still think he is way too statuesque in front of his opponents with minimal head movement ( the opposite of Fury), which against Klitschko could spell bad news.

Hoping for an AJ win but Klitschko has to be favourite.

Hoping Quigg can put on a performance tonight. Like the Bury lad.

Completely agree with that.

How likely is the fight to go 12 rounds? Has Joshua and Wlad got that sort of stamina?

Shieet, I don't know whom I want to win. I like Joshua, but I also find Klitschko likable and a very good tactical fighter. Joshua has much more strength, but he is very inexperienced compared to Wlad.

Considering they're both big punchers and that Joshua has stamina issues (carrying all them muscles comes with a price) it's highly unlikely this fight will go the distance.

Yeah I'm just wondering who on do I put my bet on and what round.

Klit is well up for this. Look at his conditioning. This fight is 50/50.

He looked so lean at the weigh in. Leaner than I've ever seen him. Perversely I think AJ should worry about Wlad's speed and agility.
AJ is a muscle monster which is great if you're fighting nobodies but will it exaggerate his immobility against Wlad?, who I think has looked at AJ and is going to try and jab and move all night.

Whatever happens it will happen in first half of the fight.

So before 6th round you think, I was going to go for Joshua in the 8th round but now you say that and I'm not sure anymore.

Any guesses on how good the streams will be? I'm used to watching this on my dodgy box on box office but they've cottoned on. Pub is an option to watch it but nobody I know is going

No way this fight goes the distance but if it does, I'd say Joshua wins it. If Wlad does then hats off to him, to keep up with someone far younger.
So not sure who to go with for this.
I never really thing there are neutrals in sports. As you watch a match, eventually your gravitate to one side more than there other, you may not care of the result but you do end up supporting one or the other.
That's me right now, I so wanted Wlad to beat Fury, and have always been supporting AJ during his rise, now I'm caught between the two. :wenger:

Wouldn't be so sure. Can't remember (and too lazy to check) but think Joshua never went the distance, whilst Klitchko on the other hand has done it quite a few times and he's got the experience on his side.

Also one very important thing to keep in mind is all those muscles Joshua is carrying take away awful lot of stamina.

Its just my opinion. I understand the experience Klitchko brings but I just can't see it happening. And certainly AJ knows his weight and has put in place the conditioning needed to carry him in case he has to go the distance. Yes it may not be as good as the real thing, but its not a massive disadvantage.

Wlad advantages - his lost before and knows how to come back, he has tones of experience, he has gone the distance many times etc.
Disadvantages - his getting old and not as much stamina as he use to. Not much negatives really.

AJ advantages - his got the power and speed factor, his got age which normal comes with stamina, and I don't his build will impact it greatly.
Disadvantages - some will say age because he doesn't have experience (maybe) he hasn't gone the distance before.

Not much for me that's why its difficult to call this fight. Then there is also the will to win. As Wlad has said, he is obsessed about winning his title (s) back, whether the body can match the will, time will tell.
For AJ, he has many years before him and while it will be a dream for him to continue unbeaten throughout his boxing career, which not many have done, even if he loses he has plenty in him to dominate the heavyweight division, but it will certainly play on his mind losing to Wlad.

Anyway, I just hope it will be a fiery fight with lots of action, whoever the winner I will be happy and sad :)

Yeah it will be great for us neutrals.

Could well be but Klit has always been a plodder. I'm sceptical he can stick and move for 12 rounds. He will revert to jab and grab which will allow AJ to out strength him and land some tasty shots.

For people who want a river/stream, Reddit usually has solid ones available. Perhaps check in the boxing subreddit.

I should want Joshua to win tonight but half of me wants Klitschko to win just so I can see the look on everyone's faces when the golden boy Joshua loses. Those who just watch boxing once in a blue moon or only when Joshua is fighting think he is invincible because he's knocked out a few bums. It would be interesting to see the reaction when they realise there are levels to boxing and this fight (if Wlad still has it) is a completely different kettle of fish.

Joshua does seem like a genuinely nice guy though so i'm happy for him if he wins but his fans will still do my head in.

I hope Klitschko still has something left in him and we see a good fight.

Reddit any good for PPV? Good for football, but I've always struggled to get good streams for boxing.
