Agreed.

But that is what would be entertaining, Ricky would have to press and come forward. Also, we know that even though Khan should be doing exactly what you said, too often he loses his game plan and gets dragged into a war, which would give Hatton a chance - assuming he is not completely depleted as a fighter.

Also, you are right it would certainly make money and would have interest from America as well, whereas Brooke probably wouldnt. I can see Khans management team thinking it would be a good idea, it's a very big fight in terms of it's appeal, purse etc, but would be a relatively easy one.

Again, that is just what I think based on how much Hatton let himself go, I think it would be easy, but we will never know until he gets in the ring.

Brook. No e. Just saying :p

as a fan the Hatton comeback is a bit worrying but I can't lie the official annoucement has got me very excited, already sorted a ticket for the fight and will be the first time I have ever got to one of his fights and it's something I have always wanted to do. It may not be Las Vegas like I always wanted to do but it's still got me buzzing.

Khan has split from Freddie roach.

Been talk of it for a while. Think he got sick of following him around and fitting in with him whilst he was training Pacquiao. Apparently Khan has had to train in multiple locations leading upto his last few fights, which included places like the Philipines. This resulted in Khan giving him an ultimatum: drop Pacquiao and Chavez Jr or he walks. Khan is such a wanker. Probably the only British fighter that I can't stand.

Yeahh that was dragged out for ages, always gonna happen.

Training isn't his issue, it's his inability to stick to a game plan and take a big hit on his chin

Roach said to Dan Rafael that Khan has no chin and should never fight a big puncher again. Rafael told Roach that he doesn't consider Danny Garcia to be a big puncher!

Khan, like many boxers, is totally deluded. I honestly think that Khan still feels that he can go toe to toe with fighters. Unless he accepts that he can't take a punch very well, his career will continue in the same fashion.

Agreed, Khan is deluded and until he takes a different approach, this will continue to happen.

Roach also said that prior to his split with Khan, that Khan gave him an ultimatum, to either ditch Pacquiao and Chavez Jnr or lose Khan. What planet do Khan and his team live on? Pacquiao is Roach's greatest ever work, a fighter who is guaranteed a $23m minimum purse for his next fight (trainers generally take a percentile cut of the fighters purse) and he is also a fighter who listens to Roach implicitly and calls him 'his master'.

I really think that Khan would do better to ditch his team, the management of his fight against Peterson was woeful, there is no way that they should have accepted a native referee, Khan had the leverage in negotiations as the champion and money draw, it really was a poor effort. That is what happens though, when you let your taxi driver father manage you. I think that the gloves in the Garcia fight were also Reyes, gloves that favour a puncher.

I always think back to the Kotelnik fight. Khan boxed to instruction in that fight, he stayed on the outside and won every round on my card. Kotelnik was a very good fighter, not the fastest or most powerful but quite underrated. If Khan would box like that against the likes of Danny Garcia and Marcos Maidana - they wouldn't get a look in.

If it's true, that's insane. I can understand Khan wanting a dedicated trainer, but at the expense of Paquiao? I wonder how he views himself to even consider Roach would drop Manny for him. Literally on no level would that ever happen, there is no incentive whatsoever to do such a thing from Roach's perspective.

I'd agree with that too, I don't know if it's a case of him being misguided, or something he's doing himself to not enforce a plan in the ring. You look at how he faught Peterson as well, exactly the same mistake, didn't fight the intelligent fight and made the situation what it was.

Seems that Roach is a little bitter about Khan saying that Roach doesn't teach defence to him and Pacquiao.

“I wanted him (Pacquiao) to fight the guy Garcia, Danny Garcia,” Roach revealed. “I wanted that fight because Amir Khan says that I don’t teach defense to him and Manny Pacquiao. Why did he compare himself to Manny Pacquiao? It depends what I taught him. Let’s see what Manny does with your last opponent. Manny wouldn’t lose a round.”

Khan dumped Roach so he has his excuse for losing his last fight. During media for his next fight he will be spouting shit about how he only lost because Roach couldn't be with him 24/7 and now he is with his new coach he is a different fighter etc. It's all bollocks, quite frankly he is just not as good as most of us thought he was going to be.

There's been some great fights this weekend. Martinez absolutely schooled Chavez for 11 rounds then nearly threw it all away late on. Bloody relieved he held on as I detest Chavez. Got to admit I underrated his strength and power though. Alvarez looked impressive but hittable against a very brave but undersized opponent. Alvarez vs Martinez would be a great fight. Maidana vs Soto Karass was a really enjoyable fight too.

Why the hate for Chavez? I know he is a convicted doper and the most protected and manicured fighter in the sport but...............ahh I see.

Chavez is absolutely massive. I read that he went in the ring at 175lbs last night. Alvarez - Martinez is a fight that I would like to see but I can't imagine Alvarez's team going for Martinez just yet.

Saul is only 22 lol absolutely mental. Seems like he should be way older.

I quite literally hate Khan.

he's a deluded little chav. His sacking of Roach is all a desperate attempt to cover himself for another embarrassing defeat.

The way he tries to talk about himself on the same level as Mayweather and Pacquiao is hilarious.

As for Pacquiao and Marquez part 4. f**king hell, one thing I will give Pacquiao, he's got more balls than Mayweather. Marquez just isn't a good opponent for him but he keeps taking the fights anyway.

I wanted that to be his next fight.

For Bradley to get a win and stay undefeated on the back of Manny battering him was disgusting. Sums up the sport though, corrupt to the core.

I can't believe there will be no rematch. I don't get it, I would want revenge after that robbery.

All about money, there is much more to be made against Marquez. Manny only has a few fights left and is rumoured to have been in financial trouble not long ago. I think that his last few fights will be the ones that offer the biggest purse.
He is crazy for going in with Marquez again though. I would be surprised if he won.

Well he'll give a shot at sorting Khans defence out, which is good.

But he has the same problem as he did with Roach, Andre will be Hunter's main fighter, which was supposedly Khans reason for leaving Roach.

Aye, plus Hunter and Ward is supposed to be like one of those father/son relationships that you sometimes see between fighter and trainer. Id couldn't give a shit about Khan personally, but it'll be intersting to see how this works out. As many have said though, I think this has more to do with Khan using Roach as an excuse for his losses to try and dress over it a bit. He knows his reputation has taken a hit and he's trying to shift that blame because he's that type of person.

As a side note, wasn't overly impressed by Rigondeaux after hearing everyone taking him up. He was wobbled a few times, though he did manage to win the fight in the end.

So has Manny even said if he wants a rematch down the line with Bradley? Forgot money I thought he would want to destroy him.

I don't really see how Ward-esque defensive work would benefit Khan though. I rather fancy that Khan needs to fight on the outside as much as possible. Ward is great at getting in and out but he generally nullifies his opponent on the inside, using some of the dark arts too. Ward is tough as nails and can afford to get in close like that. I would have thought that Manny Stewards work with chinless wonders like WK, would have made him the perfect choice for Khan.

I think he is his Godfather.

I honestly couldn't give a toss about that fight anymore. Three years too late now, no one is bothered. Anyway, everyone unbiased knew it was Floyd holding it up, so nothing new there.

Manny has to get through Marquez first, which will be extremely difficult for him. And Floyd would probably have a relatively straight forward time with him at this point anyway based on Manny's last few fights. It's all a bit meh right now. Although a lot of people would still watch it.

True. I would still watch it though. Like you say, Manny is finished, it is just a shame that Floyd didn't have the balls to roll the dice when Manny was on fire.
