How could a WWE fan not think that being a 9 time tag team champion, 4 time IC title champion, 2 time world heavyweight champion, 2 time ECW champion and a Triple Crown and Grand Slam Champion is not a huge star?
Simple. When they sign for AEW
No not really given what I just said above. I really want AEW to grow and hopefully Christian does that. Are you actually?![]()

The Miz is a 2 time WWE champion, 8 time Intercontinental champion, 2 time US champion and 8 time Tag Team champion, yet we were talking about his body shape a few days ago instead of admitting he's a huge star. But when someone with the same profile signs with AEW suddenly they are huge huge stars.
He hasn’t wrestled in four years and is one concussion away from retirement. You can see why WWE were reluctant to give him a big contract. This isn’t like the Bryan situation as Bryan was younger and obviously more popular than Christian.
Dixy Khan needs to keep his mouth shut next time unless he can get Brock or Punk. Big Show and Christian in 2021, I am pretty sure AEW fans were mocking whenever Big Show appeared on TV but now it’s refreshing to see Paul Wight.
TNA signed Jeff Hardy shortly after he was one of the most popular faces in WWE, after his drugs bust and being let go. They signed Angle when he could go great too. Its not about who they sign, its about how they use them, how they book everyone and how they make new stars.
If Christian is used with someone else to elevate them it'll hopefully pay off. If he comes in to win the title from Omega and sit as the champion for months thats obviously going backwards and doing what TNA did with the main event mafia being on top all the time.
Come on @Ekeke this isn’t even the same comparison. Those two had problems, but they were still in their prime. Angle in 2006 was the best wrestler, but just had other demons in his life at the time. Him and Taker in Feb that year had a great match. He had a good feud with Orton. WWE refused to give him time off, so he decided to leave.
Christian in 2021 is not the best wrestler. He hasn’t wrestled a singles match in four years. It’s not the same comparison to the above two.
Thats what I'm saying, those were bigger signings and TNA didnt do well. So its not about the signings is it? Its about how people are used and booked and about elevating the people like Samoa Joe and AJ Styles to also be top stars, which TNA failed to do because they wanted to push the likes of Scott Steiner and Booker T instead
The comparison now would be the likes of Pac, Fenix, MJF, Jungle Boy, Darby. You dont want the older guys coming in and taking a spot the younger guys here could have been given an oppertunity with. You want similar to what Sting, or Taz or MVP are doing where they're involved but its a spotlight for the new guys/Lashley
Another angle
Yes Sting, a 61 year old man pinning 27 year old Ricky Starks.
You honestly can't see the difference between Ricky Starks and AJ styles? In a cinematic match. What was the result of Undertaker Vs. AJ Styles again?

I can see your point but a new fan isnt going to get into wrestling if they have to suspend their disbelief to this degree.I mean it's wrestling, so it's just something that has to look impressive without it being remotely dangerous. Something where you could suspend your disbelief enough to think it would effect them in the ring...
Basically just bigger bangs on the turnbuckle and simultaneously covering the ring in smoke so you couldn't see what was going on would have done the trick.
Even Meltzer said it was bad!

I remember when i started to lose interest back in the day when Stone Cold lifted Triple H car up by a crane and just dropped it, seemingly trying to kill him.
Maybe the future of wrestling is to just admit its a tv show with credits etc at the end of each episode and actually kill off characters like its Hollyoaks.
Yeah but has to be done right. I do understand shows get cancelled, creating great tv shows isnt an easy feat.Lucha Underground did that, it started the cinematic matches trend. It also had Bray Wyatt/ Alexa Bliss chocolate milk magic and characters being "killed"
It got cancelled

But it doesnt have to be fantasy, just gives the product license to do what theyre doing anyway but to a higher standard. I saw the Undertaker match in the graveyard, that didnt get WWE cancelled.I think it would have been more popular if the idea is good.
For me personally I think its much better to go in the sports direction towards UFC and MMA, more like New Japan (But not as far as Inokism) rather than fantasy tv show wrestling
Why not just watch a fantasy tv show if thats what you want to watch? Why should there be wrestling involved?
Would Game of Thrones have been better if every battle was in a wrestling ring?
With wrestling what you are able to do is, like movies, have cool fight scenes and moments that are possible in MMA but rarely seen because of how hard it is to do them in that environment and not leave yourself exposed and looking like an idiot as you get K.O'd. So that for me is the appeal of having it sports based

Everybody knows its fake so why not embrace it and up the production value? You can see what theyre aiming for but the need to present it as real makes it look even faker imo.
It doesnt all have to be graveyard fights. Its just the way they can present and frame it. You can still have athletic matches that follow the traditional pattern but its hard to have an explosive barb wire death match be in the same category as that. The choice is made so give them full reign to actually kill the man who jumped on top of Moxley and frame an explosion that comes across well on tv. Its a match type that can only be a flop last night.Nothing gets WWE cancelled. If something could, they've done it by now. And the Boneyard match was good. But one of the reasons it was good is because for most people watching it was something new and different. If the whole show is like that then it defeats the purpose.

AJ Styles a 43 year old who's been champion and is already made, losing to the Undertaker at wrestle mania is bad
But Starks who isn't made losing to Sting is good?
And he's not even on the payroll![]()
The best part is the laughter after it happens.
actually the best part is this thread, but still...

I don't actually think he believes half of the shite he spouts, just enjoys being bit of heel.
Getting pinned by 61 year old sting when you've accomplished feck all is a good thing.
Getting pinned by the undertaker in his retirement match, when youre one of the few people that can say you've won the big ones across the world, well that's just bad for business.
