Film The Penguin - Batman Series

I don't understand how Sal just walked out of a prison. I know he got a key from the prison guard during the fumbled hit, but still.....

Did no one watch Episode 7? It's genuinely depressing that the finale is next week. It's been an incredible season.

Caught up with this, the last couple of episodes were incredible. Set up a really good finale.

Fantastic finale. Shocking stuff

It was class. They should pretty much just sack off anything else Batman related and just keep going with this universe, there’s so much they can do with it.

However, I will make an exception to bring Arnie back as Mr. Freeze.

Absolutely brilliant series. Farrell was totally bang on when he said he could maybe see people rooting for him in episode one/two but by the last episode he’d be amazed if anyone still was - what a gaslighting piece of shit that character is

That’s gotta be the most satisfying ending to a series I can remember.

Cannot wait for Batman to beat the shit out of him.

Im purposely avoiding reading too many comments in here but knowing it has a satisfying ending made me finally start to watch this last night. I'm also still juggling it with Gangs of London and finishing up the latest Slow Horses season. Maybe I'm secretly a glutton for violence or something.

Slow horses worth a watch?

Very much so. Though it takes a little while to get going. One of those shows I think you need to give 3 episodes to really get a sense for whether you like it or not. Especially because of some of the character building that happens. I can definitely understand why it may not be everyone's cup of tea however.

Some may not like it for Gary Oldman's character alone. A bit like House and some being offended by the rude and grotesque attitude of the titular character in that one. Hopefully that makes sense.

Thanks yeah that makes sense! Will probably get a subscription to Apple TV once severance comes out and do they both.

Good show, good finale. A little too much of Oz being Superman and somehow getting out of all sorts of messes.

This was really good. Between this and the decent Batman movie, I am enjoying this little corner of televised DC. Hope James Gunn leaves it alone.

I enjoyed it less and less the longer it went on. Mini Oz and his Mum did my head in.

It was worth watching, but meh. Even the fantastic acting tailed off a bit for me but looks like I'm in the minority.

7/10.

What a brilliant finale. One of the shows of the year without a doubt.

Completely agree. Started strong but ended with more kidnappings, more double crosses and more improbable last minute escapes than several series of Breaking Bad. The more we saw, the more wiggy it felt.

Really wanted to love this as I think Matt Reeves Batman is great and is living dangerously alongside James Gunn's DC Universe. I'm glad it's being well received by so many as I want more of this Batman.

Some great performances and some nice moments, but quickly outstayed its welcome for me.

Really enjoyed that , just copped it before Victor ….

This is how you do villian origin stories

For an obese cripple, he was a bit too John Wick at the start of the episode but it's a small criticism. Great show.

I agree with this honestly.

those last minute escapes and him getting away in such manner in 3 consecutive episodes cheapened the overall experience. the ending was good, but I liked the first half of the show more.

Yeah I'm not sure that I bought the whole second in commands turning on their boss scene but it didn't ruin anything for me.

I doubt there will be a second series as there's no redemption for this character whatsoever.

Sets him up perfectly as a villain for the next movie or two though.

Fantastic series, loved it. I like that the villain was just that, a villain. Absolutely nowt redeeming about him, how most Batman enemies should be. Superb.

just so Im clear as there are many timelines

Is Batman on active duty during the show?

Tbh, probably has bigger fish to fry (pun absolutely intended), but yes is the short answer - it's set after The Batman movie.
