The Open Championship - Royal St George's

Christ almighty Westwood's having a nightmare.

He seems a bit distracted of late. Did you see any of his interviews last week in Scotland. I actually commented on it to one of the lads, A bit strange to say the least....

Not a fan of his to be honest. Out of the Worlds elite players I think hes one of the least talented. His long irons are fantastic but his touch around the greens in nowhere near the best in the world. Hes worked v hard on it especially over the 5 years.

I don't like him personally - principally because he seems to be more preoccupied with eating pies than he is winning tournaments. He's a solid player, but he'll never win anything big, as a result of his attitude, in my view.

Clarke's on fire, I'd love him to hold on to this form.

Good round from Clarke but he has got to be kicking himself a little with a couple of bogeys littered through his round. Should probably be leading but that's the joy / frustration with Links golf.

Some sublime shots being played by everyone - a joy to watch

He came in to today as joint favourite to win but he'll not even make the cut now

He has not been playing well at all though, so I don't know why he was favourite. My mate got him at 33 or something yesterday. He started well last week and started to show glimpses of his old form, but he had a stinker in the final round. He just seems to be struggling with his chips and putts.

Clarke in particular is always a joy to watch.

Dyson -3 after 3. What a start.

Fantastic first three holes from Dyson. He could be the one to emerge from the pack.

Played consistently well this year.

Expect McIlroy to pull a few shots back today, less pressure on him. G-Mac wont even make the cut, so much for being the favourite.

I hope so, I absolutely love watching McIlroy play golf. I'm looking forward to watching his round today and just hope he steps up.

Would love to see him and Dyson battle it out over the weekend

Kaymer could be a danger to everyone, he's reverted back to his "old" major winning style. Why he changed it in the first place I'll never know. Its shaping up nicely though. Of my own bets Schwartzel is looking the most likely.

McIlroy will need a good round to be in contention for the weekend. But the wind is picking up and the players will struggle so realistically he needs to have a great round.

I'm hoping that Clarke or Jimenez will win though. Schwartzel looks great at the moment though and if I was forced to put a fiver on someone at this moment, I'd go for him.

Just looking at the leaderboard here. In the top 20 i see only 1 Englishman, a 20 y o amateur. Surely to feck one of Donald, Westwood, Poulter, Casey, Rose etc should be challenging at this point in their home event. The yanks doin well, 8 in top 20.

NI in with a great chance of a winner. I never even considered Clarke for the win, but I'm starting to believe he can do it. McIlroy is in a nice position on evens. This will be a test for him. I don't think he's ever won when he hasn't blown the field apart. It'd be nice to see him scrap one out!

Looks like the rain will kill off McIlroy, he's got to play through it while it looks to ease off for the late tee-offs.
