Whom do you support?

Hong Kong or China?

If both why?
Hong Kong for sure
china.... depends on who their opponents are...

china vs. Canada ( Canada)
china vs. Hong Kong (Hong Kong)
china vs. others (50% china, 50% i don't care)

For me, it's Hong Kong 99.99% of the time (0.01% being pre-season friendly against United ;) )

China, well, most of the time unless they're up against my favourite sportsmen(women). ;)

btw, Ian Thrope vs. Michael Phelps, who's better?
Phelps gets my vote

no, why should I, it's only the START of the game!!!

Dont know bout you,but i've been watching the Olympics since 84',and i find it hard to get exited about anything in this Olympics...even Womens Beach volleyball or Womens Diving ;)

Maybe because of all the drug cheats thru the years, sours the legitimacy
of a win.

Still waiting for track and field tho.

i don't know, maybe I love watching diving, swimming, baseball, hockey events? these events started on the 14th and all the way until the very last day... I'll never get bored ;)

Thorpe obviously has the better free.

I think Phelps is the better all-around swimmer.

The only attractive female in Badminton was Camilla Martin anyway... and she's out now... :(
Her former fiancee Peter Gade is still in it but it'll be damn tough to overcome the Indonesian...by the way, he is a Liverpool supporter

Btw... got 2 teams to the semi-finals in mixeddouble :D
So at least a bronze medal for Denmark

If I remember correctly, she pocketed some HKD 2.5mil then, plus other gifts as well like 2 years supply of free air tickets from Cathay Pacific to anywhere in the world, cant remember what else but there're more...they even built a statue of her at her home town in China.....for Olympics 2004, I heard that any athlete that strike gold will automatically collect HKD 1mil in cash......It's good to be a sports person....

Do you think China will remain first in the medals tally by the end of the Olympics? It's a long shot.

I certainly hope so but like you said it's a long shot

This has to be the most uneventful Olympics ever... :boring:

Why is it?...am i getting older? :( .....

Oh how i long for the days where the images of Svetlana Buginskaya use to
illuminate my young mind...

The sheer fabric of a young Jennifer Capriati triggered phone calls to friends similarly participating in our knowledge of Tennis....

When is Track & Field starting ?? i'm gonna loose it soon... :wenger:

I tend to agree, but the medals table sees it differently.

I just find it odd that a country with say, 2 Golds and nothing else is higher than a country with 1 Gold and 35 silver and bronze.

I think the Olympic Medal Ranking System should abide by the Historical Law of Russia (and China for that matter), and that is quantity has a quality all its own ;)

hong kong are assured of a silver medal! yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

feck - Gade is out to Taufik! :(

Sorry DD

Taufik is probably the most naturally talented badminton player ever. He's certainly one of the best I've ever seen - the only one that came close was Zhao Jianhua. My dad tells me that Rudy Hartono could also compare.

Like all geniuses though, he's a bit of a nutter, and that's why he hasn't won anything much. He seems to have it together this time though.
