I have won the group with the worst defensive record. :lol: I play football the right way though. :cool:

I felt really bad when the connection went on the first attempt with you in the lead then for me to take the lead in the second attempt. Gaz deserved winner in attempt three. I wasted feck loads of chances and spent too long messing about on the edge of the box whereas he was pretty clinical and had much more threatening attacks than me.

When I bundled that ball in and thought I'd made it two all only for the guy to be an inch offside I nearly punched the tele.

The only real clear cut chances I had were the first goal and a one on one which you made good use of triangle with. You had more despite having less shots.

Me, Billy and jgraham qualify, Gaz and Alex weren't really that far off and Gaz might still have a chance to qualify as fourth placed team, I think he's actually among favorites to do so with a win and a draw to his name but I haven't looked at other groups properly.

I handle the graphics in live sports broadcasting. Mostly football matches and MotD type shows.

Mine and Sarni's match could have easily ended 10 - 8 if we'd taken our chances. Very entertaining match.
 
I play 3-4-3 most of the time and even though it was always with Italian teams I didn't even bother to put deep lying defensive midfielders there. I know I will be in trouble in the knockout round but it's fun. There's one four stars team I hope no one ever plays against me as they are too tight defensively but I won't reveal their name. :lol:

In the 360 tournament I got 7-2 after two games but it's mainly because Talking Vulture had absolutely no luck at all in our game that should have been more like 3-3 than 3-0.
 
I will try to post tables at later hour although with the amount of games that haven't been finished it will be a tough job.
 
Well, it seems that Elvis who runs this hasn't played any of his games yet. MarceloFalcon keeps track of his group so he may well post that one and McLovin has already posted final standings for his group.

In group A, as it stands is:
1. Xander 7pts in 3 games
2. RedPavan 3pts in 1 game
3. Eriku 3pts in 3 games
4. Cina 1pt in 2 games
5. Heffo 0 in 1 gane

From our group me, BillyBlaggs and jgraham go through, Gaz as well I think on the virtue of being the best fourth placed player.

Only Zarlak and vuc played their game in group B.

RonaldoVII, McLovin and Snow go through from group C.

I don't know what happens now seeing as one group basically does not exist.
 
Yes, I'm not running this so I can't make a decision but here's my proposition:

At this point I'd just let three players from groups A, C, D and E go through, which is 12 players. We need 4 more to create a knock-out round.

We have eight players who would be eliminated from those groups as well as Zarlak and vuc who have only played against each other and it's not their fault that no one else in their groups turned up - 10 players to battle it out for 4 places. I think two worst players from 5th places should go out at this point, and the rest should play it out against each other in knock-outs - Zarlak who beat vuc should play the fifth placed player with the lower tally and vuc who lost should play fifth placed team with the higher tally. Fourth placed teams should be randomly drawn against each other.

I might be talking nonsense.

If we only have 12 teams going through we could go with the winner/loser bracket system.
We could also go with the old CL format. Have two groups of six where 2 teams qualify for the semis.

If that goes well we might even have an online league?

I meant twelve teams plus four from a remaining pot of players who should play it out for qualification, the we will have a proper last 16.
 
Trouble is, there are about ten people who haven't played their games, one group is basically non-existent while another one has only been played in like 40%. Three groups are completely fine and I think all players from these groups should be allowed to play on - three from each go straight into last 16, the rest I don't know, perhaps some sort of a knock out for them?

RedPavan's exit complicates things. Xander goes through on the basis of points tally, but who else from that group? There are four players and two of them have only played 2 games or less. I think Eriku deserves to go through even though he only won one game he is virtually second in that group.

So we have three players from completed groups plus Xander and Eriku through, 11 players, leaves 5 spots open.

Six players from finished groups are still there, then there is Zarlak and vuc who have only played each other, then there are two players from group A who played at least one game. That's ten players, so if we divide them into five pairs and the winner goes through, it will actually be perfect.

Those ten players are: Alex99, Gaz, Heffo, cina, EdWeatherall, Big-Red, Zarlak, vuc and two players from group MarceloFalcon keeps track of.

If Marcelo can post a table of their group, we can make a draw. Then I say there should be a maximum of four days for everyone to play their games, if one person doesn't turn out the other one gets a walkover, if both fail to turn up, no one goes through and someone is given a bye in the next round.

McLovin posted your table a while back, I posted mine group and Group A, there is no group B and MarceloFalcon keeps track of the remaining one and has promised to reveal it.
 
I'm up for anything that may keep me in the tournament. Just throwing that out there.
