Television The Office, US Version

There isn't any. I don't know a single person who would find him amusing.

Honestly, I couldn't believe they gave the Sabre assistant guy a recurring role in the show. They might as well have given the Sikh IT guy a major plot.

Carrell knew the show was past its sell by date, he probably wanted to get out while his rep was intact. He does quite a lot of films anyway.

I presumed they'd end the show with him leaving, but no, typical fecking American television, they keep it going as long as they possibly can.

I have no idea what they're going to do now that he's gone, there are literally no characters they could possibly focus on. Jim and Pam have somehow gone from mildly amusing to extremely annoying so more focus on them won't be any good if they keep them this way, Dwight will be much less funny without Michael around as their relationship is what kept him going, Andy hasn't been funny to me for a while, and the likes of Meredith, Creed and Phyllis are amusing but they're only there for a couple of minutes in each episode.

Gabe is a particularly terrible character I think, if they made him boss it'd be a good way to kill this show completely.

They have loads of guest actors lined up.

I started to hate Will Ferrel before East Bound and The Office

It feels weird, like its 2003 again and Old School just came out

Beside this scene the episode was alright though

I thought the new episode without Carrel an Ferrel was good...I was worried, but I think the episode was good considering the most talented comedian on the show left

For the finale, the guest stars are Will Arnett, Jim Carrey, Gervais, Ray Romano  , and Warren Buffett ffs!

Remember when The Office didn't really do guest stars? Oh those were the days.

When people watched the show because it was consistently good week in and week out and didn't have to be suckered into watching with guest stars?

Can't wait till Poochie is on next year's season premier

I thought that was bloody funny; it's got better since Steve Carell left. All the interview scenes were brilliant, not so long ago I was going through all that nonsense (competency based questions and the like) it's definitely a gold mine for comedy

Yep another great episode. I can see it lasting a couple of more seasons now.

I feel the old Jim is back a little bit. We get more of that old interaction between him and Dwight. If they can keep this up, there's no reason why this show shouldn't last another couple of seasons.

So who do you want to get hired? James Spader might be interesting.

Well he was the best part of that episode. Truly brilliant. Not sure how it would work over an entire season (or even more seasons), though. Not sure how it wouldn't. It could be interesting.

Just saw the last few eps of the season. Does nobody else think it would be brilliant if Gervais became the next manager? Couldn't see it happening though.

Maybe a spoiler, but:
A couple of days ago, it was announced that James Spader will join the cast. The story arc will supposedly go that he was hired as the new manager but within days he earned himself a promotion to CEO of Sabre in place of Jo.

The new season is really good! Without Michael there's no central character to each episode something that has revived the series imo.

It's been poor. Andy can't hold a lead character. Jim and Pam are annoying, not enough Creed, Dwight is the only really decent character anymore.

Spader has been ok but a bit one dimensional.

They should've ended it when Michael left.

Michael Scott held this series together. Once Steve Carell decided to leave, that show was doomed.

I tried watching one of the new episodes recently and couldn't last longer than a few minutes. The magic's gone.

It's not that bad. There's definitely an element of entertainment missing with Steve Carrell not being there anymore but it's still decent. Not real sure if his void will ever be filled. Don't see it continuing on for much longer unless they have new, fresh approach to spice things up again. That being said, I still enjoy it. One of the few shows I dont mind watching

I thinks it's pointless to click on a topic of a show/band/movie just to say it's shite and you don't like it... but I'll make an exception in this case.

I saw last night's episode, haven't seen it for a while. I used to like it but It's just not very good anymore. It was going downhill with Carrell anyway I think.

It was pretty funny. The series has been far from great though,

Is there a great comedy series out right now though? I'm not claiming to have watched them all or to know every single series being produced in the US right now, but from what I've watched, it's the funniest and thus great.

Personally, I really disliked Michael Scott. I would actually fast forward through some of his scenes because they were so cringe worthy. I don't think that Steve Carell is a funny comedian; for me he is more like the cringe king of mainstream comedy or something. So yeah, I think that since Carell left the show has been great. IMO of course. :)

I agree the show has picked up since Carell left. It was getting very stale towards his last couple of seasons. As far as better comedies go, the other three that air on the Thursday night are currently far superior to The Office -

Parks and Recreation, Community and It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia.
