Television The Office, US Version

Yeah its pretty clear that next season will be the last. I can only hope that next season the characters stop being such dicks, pretty much everyone has been hard to like for most of this season.

I'm kind of worried about the 'Dwight buying the business park' plot that they've set up, it seems like another lame attempt to 'shake things up'.

Wouldn't count on it, the writers have said they'll easily be able to keep going without Carell. Remember Scrubs and That 70's Show? Never dismiss American Networks want to milk shows for all they're worth.

Krasinski doesn't seem too keen on going on either though. Surely they wouldn't continue without both of them?

I hope there's less of fecking Gabe next season, that is one terrible character right there.

Krasinski is a real asshole, for some reason I would love to punch him in the face.

It did seem very ho hum for one, until the last two lines of the show

That should make this season the last for everybody. Can't see the show going on without him. It'd be like Scrubs without JD, and we all know how that went.

I agree, but the problem is that most popular American shows just don't know when to stop.

Kevin from the Office, Brain Baumagauntner I think, is at a celeb golf tournament and he is fecking awful, its hilarious

More Andy this season, so it's automaticly going to be better.

This is fast becoming an awful show.

I keep hoping...

Oh just you wait Brophs, it seems like they're really going to keep going with it after Carrell leaves...

I feel like taking the show I loved out the back and shooting it.

Fecking Americans and their not knowing when to quit. Arrested Development keeps coming up in the thread about shows that were cancelled too soon, but when there were rumours of a network like Showtime picking it up, Michael Hurwitz said that he felt that they had taken it as far as they could, as a series. The Office is all storylined out, hence the stupid Andy-Erin retread and the bringing back Hollie. Its done.

But it's not funny. I don't even think it's supposed to be funny. This is all clearly for the amusement of the people involved. Musical numbers, silly costumes etc.

They've also somehow reduced two of the main characters (Jim and Pam) to pointless, annoying, one-joke-wonders.

Enjoyed that episode the beginning and final scenes were fecking hilarious

I watched a couple of episodes of the first series but it wasn't a patch on the original so I stopped.

I have my fingers crossed hopefully it ends on a high

That's because the first series was pretty average, only really came into its own from season 2 onwards. Give it a go!

This season has been better looking forward to tonite's episode

yeah there was a new episode last night (halloween theme)

I believe Darrel will replace Micheal as the boss at the end of the season/or beginning of the next and I miss Jim fecking around with Dwight

The show can continue without Carrel. It does have some awful characters like Kevin on one side, but the likes of Creed getting more screen space can only be good.

Having said that, at the moment the writers seem super confused with respect to characterization. The likes of Andy, Ryan, Darrell often seem quite pointless.

Spoiler regarding future episodes guest star:

Will Ferrell has signed on for a multi episode arc!
