The New low (I.) Q. Republicans and Ted Cruz

Don't mess with 80 year old group sex parties. :nervous:
Should have joined in and shut up.

On a side, theres a weird narrative from the libs on Twitter knocking him for being closeted and the LGBT community are obviously upset by that and rightly so. If he is gay he should be met with acceptance and not mocked for the fact he’s obviously grown up in a toxic environment that has taught him that it’s wrong.

He’s a horrible character with horrible politics and there’s plenty to criticise there without mocking his sexuality and lack of freedom to express it.

The real story here is that the GOP machine was able to so efficiently obtain and distribute this kompromat and it’s a clear warning and example to anyone else in the party that is thinking about stepping outside the party lines.

Someone needs to explain the concept of blackmail to him. It's not really blackmail, when there is not a threat or coercion involved - this is straight up punishment.

It’s possible he’s been blackmailed and stood firm and they’re slowly releasing content until he gives in.

This is interesting though.

Give in on what, though? Because he already sort of walked back the cocaine/orgy comments and shifted the blame to the Democrats and media.

Do you think they want him to resign?

Which one? And how do you know it wasn't just a smear from his enemies? I rather suspect society wasn't particularly understanding of it back then either.

It wouldn't be the first Roman emperor whose perception in modern times is coloured far more by the smears of his enemies than the reality of the situation. Caligula for example wasn't his real name, it means something akin to "little shoesies" and is purely the name his enemies used to take the piss out of him. Now it's basically a matter of record and hardly anybody knows his real name, Gaius Julius Caesar Germanicus.

Elagabalus. Weird kid. Probably not quite as weird as portrayed, but still very weird. He grew up in the east (was eastern), so he had different standards of how an emperor dressed and acted. Modern historians think he may well have been trans, and definitely sexually fluid in some way.

The Caligula thing is true, but it's also necessity. It would be impossible for us to separate them if we didn't use names like Caligula, Caracalla, etc, since they all had so similar names. Almost none of them are called today what people at the time would call them, luckily!

GOP House Candidate Implies He’ll Teargas Members of the Media to Help Them ‘Shed Some Real Tears’

A Republican candidate in Florida for the U.S. House of Representatives implied in a campaign video ad released on Thursday that he’ll gladly teargas the media.

Cory Mills, who is running in the Sunshine State’s 7th Congressional District to succeed retiring Democratic Rep. Stephanie Murphy, is a military veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
“I came home and started a company making riot control munitions for law enforcement,” he said. “You may know some of our work.”
The ad then plays clips of tear gas being used at Black Lives Matter protests.
“And now the liberal media’s crying about it,” he said. The ad showed part of a Politico headline that reads that Mills “sold tear gas used on Black Lives Matter protesters.”
Mills is then seen shooting tear gas.
“I’m Cory Mills and I approve this message because if the media wants to shed some real tears, I can help them out with that,” he said.

Does your country have any broadcasting laws whatsoever? How can you openly threaten harm in a TV ad?

I sense we are very close to "it was just the tip".

There really needs to be intellectual / emotional means testing before someone can procreate in this country…

If it wasn't for the Mexican part, I thought it was kind of funny. I hate when people crank their music up in their cars and I also don't have bass.

Also, the "can we say Mexican?" part is downright progressive compared to her daughter.

What about the "brown people" part?

He should argue that each sperm stopped artificially from impregnation is also stopping a child from being born. At an average of 100 million sperm per shot x several shots per week x (say) 100 million fertile American males, that's at least 10 trillion murders each week ... it's a fecking outrage.

Britney's Instagram instigated a few hundred billion murders by nostalgic 40 year old guys this week alone.

We’re headed somewhere strange, maybe not there, but now that reality isn’t holding them back at all, people are bound to double down to get the spotlight for a minute.

What is scary is that Idaho was a moderate state not long ago, looking at the comments.

The Conways were always an odd couple. A bit like back in the day when Christie Brinkley married Billy Joel, then later divorced him when someone reminded her that she was Christie Brinkley and she was married to Billy Joel.
