The New Kits Thread

Yeah on the leaked pictures that are 6 months old. These new ones are official Nike reveal photo's everything but the buttons on the collar is exactly the same. Guess we will soon see anyway, I could be wrong but id find it weird to see almost the exact same template but for some reason they added more buttons to our kit.

They reveal a different shirt with a different collar made for a different team. Nike are lazy bastards, true, they re-use templates, but our shirt is different to the England one.

Where's the cheapest place to pre-order the new United shirt from? Sports Direct prices up at over £70 for v.Persie 20 with badges and I'm not paying that.

It's been a joke for a while now but that's taking the piss.

New Cardiff City Kit. Horrendous.

They do now. Didn't the owners change from blue to red because some research told them they were more likely to get international following if they played in red?

The Asian owner said he would invest more heavily if they played in red and thus appealed more to the Asian market. True to his word, after they changed colour he brought in a load of players like Mutch, Noone, Campbell, Kim-Bo Kyung etc that have won them the Championship. Cardiff were in a few million pounds worth of debt from the Ridsdale era and to be honest, if we get relegated this season then as long as the debt is paid I'm not all that bothered. If we can keep the money from the parachute payments, get a new owner and change back to blue then use the money to try and get promoted then a few years in red will seem much more worth it.

A decent pragmatic approach and I tend to agree with you.

A bit weird that there hasn't been any leaks as to what our away kit will be, or have I just missed it?

Why aren't Nike taking OK Gush's acute phobia of collars into account when designing United kits? That's what I want to know! Yet another example of the soulless corporations not giving a fig's hoot about the common man.

did you feel like a comedian when typing that?
jeez, it's like not liking collars is a crime now...pretty sure there are weirder things to talk about than a guy who doesn't like collars, but if that's what gets you through the day so be it.

Must have missed it then, or just forgot about it. Not sure what to think of it really.

I think it's ok, but to be honest this year's away kit grew on me a bit so I don't know if I preffer it over this year's kit, but it's not bad.

The collar on the Arse away shirt is another example of a good collar.

England, Roma, Arsenal - nice collars that we can all agree on. We're the only ones getting the shitty collar from Nike. Those extra buttons are an INSULT to Cantona.

Yeah, I really liked this year's away, but none of them are a patch on the away kit in 07/08. That was probably my favourite kit we ever had. Mostly black kits like that one are brilliant.

Never seen a football shirt with button down collars, I reckon they will alter the collar on the actual shirt, something similar to the England shirt.

I actually quite like the new England kits. I understand the criticism aimed at it concerning the colours, but it doesn't bother me that much, I find them simple and pretty classy. Oh and the crest with the '150 years' underneath is class.

Also prefer next year's Utd home kit to this year's, the buttons to hold the collar down are daft but you can just undo them and it will hardly be seen. I'm curious about the away kit, I loved this year's away kit.

That United shirt's really not bad, for me. Ok, the collar is a bit of a gimmick, and it's a shame that they always feel the need for there to be a gimmick. But the decent fit, plain colour and - most importantly - normal shirt material all make up for the slight weirdness of the collar, for me.

As always, putting the shirt on a decent mannequin makes one hell of a difference.

I like it too. I also get the feeling that there needs to be something to make a United kit different/special/unique in recent seasons.

I'm confident we'll be the first premier league team to don a one-piece kit
