The New Kits Thread

Cardiff City have emailed season ticket holders to choose the colour of their shorts for next season. They had so many complaints about the ruby red ones originally chosen that they have thrown it out there for the fans to decide.

4 looks the best to me...although I wouldn't want them to pick 3 or 4...would be just like United then

It's a good gesture from the Cardiff board to take note of the complaints, but it isn't a problem that should be happening in the first place. How anybody thought the original shouts (number 1) thought it was a good idea is beyond me. If I was a season ticket holder, I'd be voting number 2 personally. Cardiff will have paid Puma a great deal of money for the production of the kit, and the fact that they need to ask season ticket holders which kit they want doesn't reflect upon Puma too positively.

 try telling the Cardiff fans its a good gesture  I know a few season ticket holders who have replied to the email telling them to shove it up their arses unless they can have their traditional blue kit back

Erm?? What?

Isn't that the other way around??

I still can't see the sense in Cardiff's kit colour change. So many teams play in red, it's hardly good for brand recognition. At least blue and yellow was fairly unique.

It was forced upon them by their Malaysian owner Vincent Tan. "Lucky Red" to market the club in Asia. It's caused quite a stir down this way and a lot of bad feelings amongst Cardiff fans.

We've got Everton fans going ape over their new badge, Bolton fans up in arms over their new loan shark sponsor, and people on here suicidal because we've got a button down collar.

Agreed, all about perspective. Having said that though it´s a fecking black collar it´d be nicer with a white one or just plain red. Away should be white with a bit of red and black. 3rd should be black with a bit of yellow just like 93

Buttons on the collar, black collar that is, on the red shirt aside, the home and away shirts look great to me.

Yep ignore that bit, not only is it the wrong way round but it's not even relevant to the rest of the post.

 Not a problem. We're all guilty of that at times!

But apart from all that, what made them think that Cardiff were going to be able to pick up supporters in South East Asia to make it worth going through such a drastic change. It's not like they're going to invest enough to turn them into the next ManCity??? :wenger:

Ahhh, 93. What a year for kits!!

Can't find our home shirt with v.Persie 20 and Champs badges for cheaper than £62 @ Kitbag. Might have to try in store next week somewhere.

I hate being held to ransom to own a bloody kit. I'm guessing £50 is the minimum I'll be paying if I want the new one?

Why do you have to buy it? Most recent one I got is the 11/12 kit and before that it was the 2002/3 third kit.

I don't get this kind of attitude in an adult... I say that respectfully! I just genuinely don't get it. We all know what football kits are for don't we? Once you pass a certain age I don't see how it's possible to still get hot and bothered about expensive football kits.

is it official the united kit?

Aye more than likely although I still think the buttons wont be on the collar. Those pictures are leaked from December (I think) and everybody else who's using a very similar template (small collar with the buttons down the middle) don't have buttons on the collar, I don't see why we would.

I bet it has buttons. Uniteds kit is always unique and different from other templates.

Nike sometimes have a rough template but they never make all their shirts the same. There are sources now showing that button-down collar shirt which have been exactly right two or three years in a row now. It looks pretty certain that that's our shirt.

I quite liked it to start with, and it's growing on me every time I see it. Stone broke but there's a chance I'm about to get a bit of a bung from work so I might splash out and get one. Thiago maybe?

Im really liking the new England kits they look great. Nike have done a good job on next seasons shirts, all the ones iv seen so far look decent.

I know the caf loves an all black kit..

edit: though it is called a 'third kit' it'll never actually be worn on the pitch..

The body of it is nice, the material looks pretty good quality too, won't fully know what that's like until it's properly out. But that collar, button down option? Just doesn't work in my opinion. Will have to see it on the players for better judgement but that was the first thing that stuck out for me instantly.
