The thing is, he's on a good run of PL results...

Bournemouth - Win
Everton -Win
Chelsea - draw
Newcastle - Win

Add into that a massive win away at Juventus, and the fact that he's now got Martial in fine form and realistically - he simply isn't gonna be sacked after an away defeat at the PL golden-boys Citeh.

For me, the next 5 games are where I'll be looking to see where this United side is going.

We're still in 8th place and 7th points off the top 4 yet somehow this is acceptable to some...

I've been saying when we were winning so won't change. My stance regarding him has been and will be the same for good. I am patiently waiting for him to leave the club and be a distant memory

He obviously has no idea what he is doing, and his tactis obviously aren't working anymore.

Obviously that's true to an extent, but we still have a squad thats got so many players who are technically a lot worse than what City have.
So do Liverpool. Don't tell me Henderson is better than what we have. You can see weaker squads play way better when the tactics play to their strengths.

Narrator: they went nowhere and they accomplished fcuk all.

It’s pretty obvious that sacking another manager won’t exactly solve that issue either.

By that logic we should get someone in that at least plays attractive football. If we can't win anything any time soon let's at least enjoy our football again. Which means we should sack him asap. His lucky breaks against Juve and Bournemouth saved his job but it's obvious he is not the man for us.

It's pretty obvious we are not gonna win anything of note with this man as our manager.
Regardless who we have in charge it's highly unlikely we'll win anything of note while Guardiola is at City and they continue to significantly outspend us.

Coward. Embarassing performance, we looked toothless, no urgency, no intensity, no fecking plan B. Grab Jardim before it's too late.

It's going nowhere, we don't need another 5 games to see that, the 5 will probably be 2 decent performances, an unexpected loss somewhere, and two shit performances where we might scrape an undeserved win in one. It's the same process all the time. He needs to go.

Still out. Didn't change my mind when most were flip-flopping as our other results where luck. 3 years and he hasn't improved us. Get someone new for Jan, please. We already will be playing Europa league next season. You think De Gea Pogba and Martial will stick around for that?

Nah they will push to leave and rightfully so.

Is that true? We play players with worse technique, but it’s not true that all of them have worse technique. If we started a team of Martial, Sanchez,Mata, Pogba, Fred, Pereira, Young,Bailly, Lindelöf and Shaw there’s a lot of quality there.

Jose didn't get the selection right. All three of Matic, Rashford and Lingard shouldn't have started. Mata and Alexis should have started. Fred over Herrera too. Tactics were shite too, complete lack of a press against possession teams is suicide especially when your defense is too weak to sit back.

That being said, our squad is very poor in comparison to City's. And we were crippled without Pogba as well. So, I'm not inclined to lay the entire blame on Jose. 60:40 maybe.

He needs to be fecking sacked. A supposedly world class manager and he's starting 2 dinosaurs in midfield against the best passing team in England. My granma could pick a better fecking team than him.

He's killing us and living off an old reputation.

At this rate, we wouldn't even be around to challenge them and take over when they fall away when Pep leaves. Liverpool are best placed to do that right now.

Weather it’s the players or Mourinho these are his players and he had many windows to fix this

Thing is, he has better options than he started with today. It’s his own fault he decided on that starting eleven and those tactics. I know the likes of Poch, Pep or Klopp would have chosen a completely different side today with that squad for example.

I decided to skip the match and go out for dinner instead as soon as I saw the 11, that should tell you everything.

It’s the big problem with him though eh? Until we’re as capable as his Madrid side (unlikely to ever happen), we’ll always play like this versus City away.

LOL 8th and on -1 GD after 12 games and we've still got people looking for the positives. God bless them.

Season's over. He should have been sacked in the summer when he started mouthing off and getting his early excuses in.

City are class. They play like that because of there manager. I know he spent loads but so as mourinho. Pep has improved players and like he said in pre season he spent most of his summer off trying to come up with new ideas of how to improve his attacking play and improve his players. We had a manager just moaning and moaning about things. It's not like mourinho was going to find a new way of playing with buying new players. City are a different level and be long time trying to catch them.

The problem we have is if this keeps happening our best players will want to go. We are sat 8th in the league with no chance of the top 4 let alone the title.

I’m referring to De Gea, Pogba and Martial. Two of whom haven’t signed long term contracts.

Then what. Keep with Mourinho until we need an entire rebuilding job again?

My biggest issue isn’t the fact we go out with a defensive style. It the sluggish passing, our pass completion in the oppositions half is absmysal. This is because of the lack of numbers pushing forward. Against City the key is not to give away cheap possession which we did time after time. If we played counter attacking well I’d understand but we don’t even do that.

Everything is so slow. The midfield is always looking to play backwards. Smalling looks to play sideways. The full backs don’t bomb down the wing, merely running sideways on to the CM on the ball. Even De Gea who you can’t fault for shot stopping is terrible with his distribution at times and hesitates to quickly release. This is caused by a tactical defensive approach. It gets ingrained in the players mind to think about ‘what if’ we lose the ball. Look at the difference in City, chase the ball, get the ball, attack.

Top 4 still very doable. Not sure how the season is over. A very weird post.

For me the last few results show that he hasn't lost the dressing room. That's all.

Doesn't change the fact that he is in general doing a terrible job.

Doesn't hurt to try. We know Mourinho has failed. Better to go in the direction of the unknown than in the direction of guaranteed failure. Unless we're Arsenal of the last few years.

Hash to judge him on this result. We've done good considering the tough set of fixtures starting from chelsea away. I still believe he could get us top 4 and then part ways.

Pretty much. The difference between the jobs done by Jose and Pep is insane.
