Best tactic he could use right now is run the ball for an OG in the first minute and then actually play football.
Sooner we concede the more time we have

I thought the subs were poor.

I wanted us to hook Matic for Lingard and play with an extra attacker. Sánchez was looking dangerous in central areas.

What? Herrera was brilliant and Rashford got the winner. The subs weren't poor by any stretch of the imagination.

If we go down the DoF route then i think Eddie becomes a very very interesting proposition as Coach.
Slow glimpse of what this team is capable of but one half isn’t enough. Jose has to keep going until he is told his services are no longer required. I don’t see him getting sacked after a win, so that is the most important thing to him right now.

If we can play like we did in the second half for an entire match we’ll see what we can actually do. There is still a lot more to give/come.

I'd say that we've been pretty awful at times this season as we were for half an hour today. But we overcame that awful period with a pretty good performance and inflicted a first home defeat for a high flying Bournemouth team. Honestly, if you're complaining about that performance, then you need a different hobby. In fact, we've been pretty good in our last 4 PL games - 10 points from 12 with 9 goals scored. We actually look like something.

Which makes the reff robbing us at chelsea even more enraging.

There is a ton of attacking talent in this squad that he has misused horribly for the vast majority of his time here. That is the frustrating part for me.

Subs were good.

Give some credit to Jose. As for Matic, Jose will eventually drop him like he did Sanchez and Lukaku. While he hasn't convinced me, he has done well to ward off the sack for now.

He's defensive mentality has never suited the club. This team is best going forward, we need a more forward thinking manager to get the best out of them.

For me it's not a matter of wanting him gone, I've made my peace with it for a long time. It will happen so it's far easier to support the team and hope for the best

Good for you mate. We don’t even know our first 11 week on week but your happy about performances? I’d be happy when I have a clue how this team is set out to play. We’ve got Juve in the week and I expect another toothless 25 minutes. It’s like you missed the first half but I don’t blame you, we normally don’t start get going until the second.

Subs were great. In right moment and they had impact. Maybe Lingard/Alexis was not needed but Alexis was injured so .

The subs would have been picked apart if not for a last minute winner. Namely the decision to sacrifice an attacker for one that is less likely to score, while keeping Matic (our worst player by a distance today) in a three man midfield.

Herrera was very good but I thought Fred was playing reasonably well and I don’t think we were any more likely to score.

As for Rashford. Well, the fickle folk on here are probably quite disappointed they can’t take his player thread apart. He was 60 seconds away from pelters.

We still needed some stability. We would have conceded if he made that sub.

Still sack, cant figure what sort of team we are supposed to be.

Not necesssirly. Herrera and Pogba have managed together plenty of times. When chasing games we’re quite happy to drop Pogba back by himself. He’s usually effective, too.

We screwed up the start to the season and are now struggling to find form and confidence in the midst of it.

The defence, and to an extent the midfield, seems to have settled and showing some confidence, If we can find a working attack, we still get something this season.

Hoping to see a martial+lingard+rashford attack at some point. We seem to lose too much athleticism with Mata and Sanchez, and Lukaku is useless if he is not scoring

Some people have got to criticise something even if it makes no sense at all.

Goodness me. We won didn't we. Just because it was against Bournemouth, who incidentally are still above us doesn't detract from a good result.

Onwards and upwards.

I am tired of saying the same thing tbh. He's not getting the sack soon, so why bother.
Anyone that can't see why he's not the man for us needs their eyes and head tested imo.
We are consistently outplayed by inferior sides for long periods.
The way we approach games is on Mourinho.
You'd think Bournemouth had the better ball players, the same as so many small teams we face.
Anyway, hope we get top four and he fecks off.
Later.

If he was injured that changes things, in fairness.
I meant that he is back from injury so maybe his fitness is not on 100% and the way how he plays is not helping him. When he plays he does not stop. Look i am huge Lingard hater so i would be the one who will first say that it is bad sub:lol:

He is now managing the team that LVG left behind. The problem is he isnt the man to take the team forward.
We need players that helps get the best out of rashford, Martial, Shaw, Pogba even the likes of pereira and herrera + many more.

Adding Icardia, Lukaku, Mandzukic, Piatek - isnt going to suit anyone in the team. Likewise we need more on the ball football coming back with an element of possesion football to actualy control the match for 90mins.

Get someone else in. Jose has realised his tactics do not suit this team and is managing Woodwards & LVG's team now.

Well this is what I mean. We needed Pogba up the pitch with how the game was going. That substitute would have meant Pogba dropping back and we wouldn’t have got that last minute goal. As crap as Matic has been. He holds position.

Stick with him. We are steadily improving.

I'm with you.

I had finally cracked and said I wanted him gone, but I think the defence have had enough chances to show that Mourinho was bang on about why he needed extra players there.

It's not worked out with Lindelof and Bailly. Both have shown some promise, but we don't have a out and out winner or any sign of a winning partnership.

His interview after the game today nicely spelled out our problems and was said in a modest intelligent way.

I'm starting to see positives that were not there before and a big part of that is a change in Mourinhos attitude. He seems to have matured this season in his approach.

Sort of where I’m at, to be honest. I know he isn’t turning anything around and our players are capable of much more. Like Moyes and like van Gaal, it will happen eventually. Just need to hope for some flukey wins in the mean time.

I had voted "Yes" but now changing it again to "Not yet". We have been better since Newcastle game and the spirit is clearly there.

That's fair. I see it as he has given up on his traditional tactics and gone back to get the best out of what he has left since he knows he isnt staying here anymore because he hasnt been able to build the team he wants.

Give him a choice - Perisic - Lukaku - Willian

vs Martial- Rashford - Sanchez

He chooses the first option all day long.

In my mind he has given up & no playing 'what the fans want'.

Fred was poor, involved but lacking in quality. Herrera was a major improvement.

Rashford doesn't deserve to be picked apart, but even his goal was lucky albeit with food composure. The chance was almost taken from him when the Bournemouth defender got a foot to it. Any more power on that kick and the chance was gone because Rashford misjudged the cross.

The chance he should be questioned for is the one he just needed to hit to the right, not straight at a defender.

Unlucky anti-Mourinho brigade :( :( :(

Yes so unlucky - A mourinho team with Martial- Rashford- Sanchez is the future  WHAT no target man? The guy is a gonner and simply managing the team the way the fans have wanted from the moment he steeped in to the club three years ago. He could have got the same results and gameplan if he had just started doing this from year one but instead went for ibrahimovic & Lukaku to build Chelsea 3.0. Next up pereira. Wont get a chance until Matic loses some height

I love the Jose fans - such fun

Nothing really changed, still paper over the cracks. As I said in post match thread, him keeping his favourites at the expense of other player's development, plus making us endure those 2+ years of dogshiit football and antics should be reason enough for him to get the sack.

How very sensible. Makes a change:
He is our manager.
We are improving - slowly I admit.
Most importantly the players now seem to be playing for him especially those who it appeared were downing tools not long ago.
He isn't going to get the sack in the short term.
We are not world beaters - far from it but we are also not as awful as some imply.

Come on United. Let's turn this season round and wipe the smiles from our opponents smug faces.

Well, you've been in a Jose thread pretty much doing the same thing for about 1 year and a half. Also, what makes Rashford immune to criticism? Every player in our team gets ripped into - it's part and parcel of the game.

As for the initial point, well we can talk in hypothetical's, if you want? Technically, had we won all the games we lost, we'd be top of the league, right? So, your criticism of Mourinho is unjustified.
