If you ask me it was all over celebration to hide something which was quite evident on the pitch.
In the context of about the easiest start to a league campaign we could have dared to hope for. Yet we still ended up with a bunch of shit results and a manager picking fights with everyone around him. Wait until we have a run of objectively difficult fixtures. That's when things are going to get seriously grim.

I'm not saying it's going to end well - I'm just saying that both Moyes and LvG (who were worse) didn't get the sack until Champions League was mathematically out of reach. No reason to think it will be any different this time around - I don't think Ed wants to pay off Mourinho.
Oh phew, I was worried for a second there that we'd let our status as the new Arsenal slip and become the new West Ham instead. As long as we maintain the dizzy heights of crawling into top 4 I don't much care.

I think/fear you're right. Although Mourinho has a track record of putting his teams into such a dramatic tail-spin that this mathematical impossibility of CL football could hit us a lot sooner than we think.

I simply can't get my head round the fact that teams, regardless of who they are, what league position they are, how defensive they are, for long spells during matches look like better footballing units than we do. How teams with new managers look like they know how to pass and move better than we do.

Up until now I've been sympathetic to jose with the rubbish window we had and after the 3 away victories I thought we'd turned a corner. However after the last 2 games, not so much the results but shoddy performances I can't see anything changing anytime soon and the poisonous atmosphere at the club doesn't bode well for the future so he's got to go.
Think i'll be more annoyed,if Jose were to leave/get sacked,that Carrick and McKenna would very likely have to follow him.As the case usually is when a new manager is brought in.

I can't believe some appeared to be changing their votes after some wins against pretty meh teams. It's clear as day that he needs to go. I really wanted him here and I fully admit I was very, very wrong about him turning our fortunes around.
Looking at last nights team how we weren't out of site result wise is a mystery.
Derby outplayed us and was unfortunate not to beat us within the 90 minutes.
The players are partly to blame in fairness, they're not good enough. So we've basically got a manager who has totally lost the plot and a bunch of players that have not only given up with him but are also useless.

Mourinho has lost it completely, I don't see how there is any way back for him now. The level of talent he has at his disposal there really isn't an excuse for the results or the way you're playing.
It's stick or twist now though, do you sack him and risk bringing in someone potentially out of their depth or do you ride it out, have another bad season and work towards bringing in a top replacement next season?

Have you seen our team play this season? We are miles away from 4th. On current form, lucky to finish top half.
That's always been a huge black mark in my book. Find a house, move your family, settle in. He's always had one foot out of the door living in a hotel like that.
I'm just waiting for him to go now. I don't care too much what happens between now and then. There is no sign of tactical progress and we have a team full of talent in which not a single player is performing as they have shown they can at other points in their careers. One or two under performers can be blamed on the individual players, but when it's the whole team that's on the manager.

Not imo. Ancelotti is a proven winner and plays attacking football, just look at how Chelsea were winning like 6/7-0 that year. While Poch isn't really proven in my eyes.
Have you ever worked in a niche market? I did for a while and I assure you everyone knew its peers from Canada to the UK right to Malta and Germany. I suspect football management is pretty much like that, especially since most managers seem to have had the same tutors. For example, Mou, Pep, Rijkaard, Gullit and De Boer previously worked under LVG, Lampard, Faria and Espirito Santo worked with Mou. Same in Italy, were Conte, Ferrara, Deschamps and Zidane are Lippi's protegees. Capello and Ancelotti are Sacchi's protegees, which in turn had produced managers such as Gattuso, Seedorf and Inzaghi
Now lets imagine a player back stabbed a top manager. The word will spread out like wildfire and the guy will not only have to leave the club but might even find it difficult to find another job. For example Roberto Baggio ended up with mighty Brescia after fecking up with Sacchi AND Lippi.
Its no mystery the rumoured ring leaders behind the famous coup d'etat against Moyes didn't stayed at the club for long. No one loves a back stabber. So its within the player's interests to keep appearances.
