Aye, the important thing with Xavi is to connect him with the right breed of player, even moreso where there are proven partnerships to exploit. I'd have gone for Alves as well in that position as the full-back depth isn't the greatest.Cheers Gio! I'm so relieved that Villa slipped through. I'm not sure that a right back should have been a priority at this stage but Alves was just too good to pass up on.
So J.Boateng counts as Ghana right?
I can't think of a definition in regards to nationality that would count him as Ghanaian. German mother, born and raised in Berlin, played for all the German youth nationalteams. So J.Boateng counts as Ghana right?

He has a sister, not sure if she plays football though or in case she does, if she's worth to be the second German pick in his team. But yes, you're completely right, in a strictly hypothetical sense.Quite so. And if he had a brother, say - not saying he does, just a 100% hypothetical scenario - said brother would also count as German, regardless of where he might have earned his caps. Hypothetically, I mean.
I think they don't compliment each other too well, but I guess most strikers will find it hard against them though as they are both quick and agileSo what do you guys think of Hummels-Chiellini.. is it solid as a CB pairing (taking into account peak form)?
Very good pairing for this poolSo what do you guys think of Hummels-Chiellini.. is it solid as a CB pairing (taking into account peak form)?

You know, I never seen Hummels as a Rio typed defender, but a more all-round one. Chiellini is a great stopper and the way I see it Hummels has every necessary skill to be a stopper too. I'm not saying they'll be bad together, but I'd prefer both of them with a different type of player. Of course, at this draft having two CBs at this calibre can't be a bad move.Isn't Chiellini more of a aggressive CB, looking to win tackles and headers in a Vidicesque manner, whereas Hummels is the Rio.. the calm and composed CB. Albeit both of them are quite well-rounded I'd say.
Is @Barney trying to recreate one of the poorest teams ever to win the Champions League here???
This.Very good pairing for this pool
Barney Benitez.Torres.
Was probably hugely optimistic to think he'd make it back to me, but I'm still annoyed.

Yeah, with how current United players look like I can see why some people avoid themAll of them picked before any current United players, too.
