Fair assessment. Personally, I don't think a pure DMC is needed. Rather a player that's more defensively capable than two other midfielders in a midfield three, more to do with positioning and ability to read the game than being physical. In this draft, the defensive midfielders will be the link between the defense and attack, not the guy who's strictly there to cover for more offensive players. In the current game there isn't a single top team that uses that player.
 
De Rossi - another one incredibly over-rated by the caf. can't perform on the big stage, hasn't won much - there are more players closer home better than him. i guess it is a measure of the depth of this field that he is getting picked so early. he is a bit like Maldini (of course no where near as good) in that his qualities are viewed through the prism of how his appearance

Strong pick. I looked hard at him but went with Ramos in the end (longer peak, better passer) but may well regret it if I end up having to pass on a good Spaniard due to the nationality rules, or when the people who weirdly don't rate him show up.

You have the, uh, grittiest team so far. Evra, Muller and Godin all physical and annoying to play against. Nice cornerstones in a draft where the other teams are all good and it's not about battering crap teams but about beating very good ones.

I was looking at Ramos, wasn't expecting him to slip back through again, but he has great credentials and versatility which is always a plus. Glad Godin came back around though, especially with the nationality rule in play.

It's unlikely there'll be much flair in this team that's for sure :lol: but we'll grind out some narrow wins :p
