The MMA thread

So Tony Ferguson. Or Nate Diaz. I think a striker could do him. Johnson showed he could be hit and hurt and even McGregor had his moments. It’s just such a shame that Kahbib although brilliant at what he does is arguably the most boring of all the current title holders.

Nate is traditionally shite against wrestlers (although I love the guy and his brother as fighters). I was maybe thinking of a Gary Tonon, Craig Jones type guy trained for MMA. Or else maybe some like Gregor Gillespie who can defend the takedowns long enough to catch him. I agree with you, he's great but it can be very boring to see. Fighters like Conor are at a huge disadvantage in that there is zero wrestling base from a young age and being a great striker means shit in MMA unless you can defend against wrestling. I would like to see a Conor with a couple of fights under his belt have another shot but he'd still be a huge underdog. Tony is probably the best bet to beat him (funnily enough I think a 100% Conor KOs Tony in 2 rounds too!).

The chechenia dagestani gang suffering with the heat hehe
The Arabs have really screwed Khabib and his gang here by not sorting out the AC. Very surprised this was not dealt with.

Just imagine what its gonna be like during Qatar world cup!!

Did you fight alongside Zabit when he wrestled marauding invaders in Dagestan ?

Of course not but I fought Chechen, Dagestani, South Ossetian kids when they came as refugees. We were incredibly weary of them. With the Chechen war going on, it was tough, but I certainly learned that they’re tough as nails through them absolutely excelling in PE and literally joining and excelling every judo school in the 70,000 strong city. Not to mention, that my brother, that lives in Russia, who’s best friend is Bashkir champion. So yeah, I’ve not climbed mountains with them but I’ve got more experience than most.

What do you make of the conditions being reported tonight? Who would suffer more in that: Khabib or poirier?

It doesn’t matter. People will adjust to heat, altitude, etc.

That would be very smart thing to do.

It’s like in cricket, USA team is 100% full of Indian and Pakistani migrants

 I remember the Chilean ping pong players complaining at the Panamericans because they had to play vs chinese Wu Jiaji (Dominican republic)... the guy become from that country like 1 month before.

cards on deck.. who wins tonight?

Think Khabib just does enough without stunning the whole world.
