The MMA thread

That JoJua looked like she had no buisness in the UFC. Was like she didn’t even want to be there. Was on top, pushed off sat on her ass for a second or two looking at her opponent who got off her back and jumped into guard. Never seen anything like it.

Wow i though the draw was fair, but never thought the judges would get it right... was expecting a Tukhugov unanimous decision. Well done.

Absolutely man, nice to see takedowns with zero damaged scored as they should be. Rare example of great judging.

Are average western men are as dumb as they seem on TV? I mean it’s the 3rd time I heard that it’s Khabib, tukhugov’s home country. I mean that’s just fecking dumb as you can get, I’m not even Muslim or Middle Eastern but wtf?

the heat looks like having a big effect. Tukhugov was totally gassed by middle of 3rd round.

Will pose a big problem for Khabib as I think Poirier has better cardio. Khabib will try to take him within 3 rounds, but even then, has an issue grappling because of excessive body sweat, which will aide Poirier to wriggle free. Khabib might struggle to lock his choke, because too much body sweat.

yeah, heard that too. Complete idiots. But then they are speaking to a USA audience who think Australia is in Europe.

I’m sorry lad but that’s absolute codswallop.. how in the hell does Khabib has worse cardio than Porier. I mean, I’m pretty sure Khabib has THE best cardio at 155 and potentially in the whole MMA.

Assuming there was no IV rehydration, if they make it to the championship rounds, their brains gonna be depleted badly. Certainly interesting to see who gets the advantage at that point.

Altitude and heat, always fun elements that can put logic on their ass.

Would really appreciate a stream for the main card if possible lads.

You wont find a bigger khabib fanboy the me ... but I don't think his cardio is the very best.

Heard from a nutritionist that dehydration doesn’t cause nearly as much as damage as whatever you call whenever you flood your body with fluids. I’m not sure if that matters or not though.

I’ll settle for believing to what Khabib actually says, that he trains 365 a year.
No exception. Even during Ramadan, he trains. He’s clean, he’s religious, he’s a caucasus man —, I personally numerous experiences with these guys , he’s extremely professional.. i mean I sound like Glaston talking about Spurs stadium but saying that Khabib has bad cardio is wrong imo.

I don't doubt any of what you have written. I also know its all true, as I've read and seen any and every information ever published about Khabib  I also hung out with a load of Dagestani fighters for a month when training in Soi Taied last year.

Fitness isn't just about effort or discipline, its also genetic and down to physique. Poirier trains with Barboza and from what I've observed, seems to be naturally gifted in his cardiovascular capacity.

Well of course we’re all biologically confined but I genuinely think that those caucasus persons are of different breed. It’s an observation that comes from training with and living with them. I’ve huge respect for them, so I mean I could be biased.

Do you practice MMA? have you trained in the Dagestani mountains?!

I think that’s maybe a bit of a hangover from when he was having trouble cutting and was ballooning up to 190-200lbs between fights. He certainly did use to look like he was Struggiling with his cardio but since he got his act together he hasn’t seemed to have that much problems.

Did you fight alongside Zabit when he wrestled marauding invaders in Dagestan ?

Khabib wins tonight. The only threat is Tony if they can fight before Tony gets too old. He's the only one with the forward pressure to bother Khabib and more importantly he's insane enough to be up for the challenge and offers something quite unique on the ground. The likes of Poirer, McGregor et all have a 1 in 100 chance of landing the perfect shot, thats all. In all honesty Khabib destroys Tony too, maybe Gathje could be a threat but Khabib is just too good at the one style that is hard to stop in MMA. I feel like you'd need a lightweight BJJ wizard with stupid sneaky submissions off the back to beat him and even then its a small chance of catching him.

So Tony Ferguson. Or Nate Diaz. I think a striker could do him. Johnson showed he could be hit and hurt and even McGregor had his moments. It’s just such a shame that Kahbib although brilliant at what he does is arguably the most boring of all the current title holders.

I was interested to see Tukhugov struggle with breathing in 3rd round in earlier fight, hence opening up possibility that the Dagestani mafia might struggle in this heat tonight.

Remember the stadium will now fill up to capacity audience, making it even hotter than earlier card.

Also for anyone interested Grange Tv is a fantastic podcast, both funny and insightful. Also it has Rob Whittaker who is without doubt the soundest fighter ever and my all time favourite. His coach is one of the funniest guys ever. On youtube for anyone interested.

I think that massive body shot he took might have also had something to do with that.
