The MMA thread

The guy Dana signed in his last "looking for a fight" episode, is fighting Luque on short notice next.

Don't miss if you want to see a corpse on the octagon.

edit. Wasn't as vicious, but at least was fun.

Kevin Lee slowly becoming the Adrien Broner of MMA. All talk, yet generally loses the big fights in which he is involved. Hard to ascertain where he should go from here, he’s caught in an unfortunate position as I don’t see him having anything to trouble the elite guys at Lightweight and Welterweight, respectively.

Lee has been exposed as a bit of a cardio-less one trick pony. Hope he recovers and goes back into training to work out how to become less one dimensional.

I think he needs to move to a better/bigger gym, where he would be just one more, instead of the top dog in a familiar setting. His game hasn't really evolved how it should (one trick pony as you say), specially for a 26 year old, who should be showing improvements fight after fight. Never mind his cardio issues.

He's just not as good as he thinks he is. There's much to improve and yeah I suppose moving to a new gym, would be a start. It's not too late for him.

I think it's a bit harsh to compare him to Broner. Broner doesn't seem to take boxing seriously anymore and seems to be just doing it for the money. Lee seems to take it seriously and does try, he just has flaws in his game.

His cardio is a massive issue really he seems to constantly gas out and it's a huge problem for him. I do think he needs to switch camps the advice he got in between rounds was awful and he probably is some what affected cos his other coach killed himself, they did seem close.

I hope he moves camps and the UFC gives him some lesser ranked opposition, going to WW and fighting RDA first is a bit crazy really, they should of built him up in that division a bit slowly, he is still only 26 so can come back pretty easily from this but it will take time I think/.

I thought it was a good move as RDA is more of a LW fighting at WW. Lee feels more like a WW who was fighting at LW. Lee needs to go back to the drawing board and work on his cardio and fight IQ.

Yeah fair shout, just thought with Lee being a young fighter they'd want to ease him up, get used to the weight etc. RDA as comparison has had 6 WW fights now and his first 2 fights were Saffiedine and Magny, that's a bit easier than going in and facing RDA straight away.

Knee to the head is the scariest thing in this sport.
