The UFC are changing the title belts to this. Not sure how i feel i always liked the current ones.

Looks crap. Would make a good kids toy though.

Don't see TJ having any issues with Cejudo. He will tear him apart in the feet. Stoppage by round 2 at the latest. Still can't believe they let MM go. He won his last fight unless you believe no damage and uncomfortable control on the ground should end the longest reigning title run. Cejudo has improved no doubt but TJ is an animal. However real double champs move up in weight and TJ will never want a piece of Max.

Also weight cutting needs to be ended. It's stupid as feck. Connor was killed by Khabib as I expected but Khabibs team mate has claimed he is 180 plus in the cage while Conor reached 168 weigh in for Diaz. That's a bloody whole weight class difference. Also Conor himself surely outweighs most of the 145s he fought by a significant amount. What's the point in 'making weight' for one minute if one guy ends up an entire weight class bigger?

Agreed or at least put in a stipulation that come fight time you can’t be a certain amount above your weighed in weight and at the weighed in weight you shouldn’t be allowed to be dehydrated or have a certain amount of water in your system. Would sort it right out.

The big problem would be if come fight night someone goes over do you cancel the fight or fine them really heavily.

On that TJ vs Cejudo, quite a few people were saying they expect Cejudo to be heavier on the night. I would imagine TJ has mostly focused on cardio to bring down the muscle mass he had for his weight class so not that easy to just eat and put that back on like Cejudo who did’nt look that drained at all.

Agree mate. We all marvelled at Pacquaio but at the very least he knew he was fighting at that sort of disadvantage before he ever made weight. It's crazy to call Max the best 145r or Khabib the best 155r when they only ever weigh that for a tiny amount of time. Fighters should be weighed year round and a few times at the end of camp each to find their proper weight class and adjust slightly appropriately for each class. If that means moving FLW to 140 then so be it. Especially with wrestlers weight advantage makes too much of a difference.

It makes things safer and allows the fighters to perform at optimum level without any pull outs due to weight cuts.

I was actually wondering today if TJ was possibly thinking 3 belts, 3 different weight classes but then I remembered the weight above is Max and I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t want none of that although kind of a fight I’d want to see just for the stand up.

The presenters on ESPN were discussing Max the other day and he’s supposedly around 170-80 and they wouldn’t be surprised to see him go up eventually but him in the 155 would be awesome and probably given the way weight cutting is in the sport a much better weight for him. Something does need to be done about weight cuts, it’s just ridiculous and the UFC is the biggest and most viewed organisation so it should be up to them to lead the way.

All year weight checks will cost a lot of money. UFC doesn't like spending money. Not happening.

As @Dirty Schwein has said the UFC only cares about money which is why a rusty Conor got a title shot over those that had earned it. The UFC should lead the way but they would rather try to force the likes of MM to fight a bigger guy with no proof he can make the weight. (he made it now but DJ was well within his rights to ask for him to prove it). Romero missed weight against Luke and still got the second shot against Rob, a guy who belongs a weight class down from Romero.

The UFC should be the leading light in making the sport legitimate but the rather money grabs at the expense of fighter welfare or financial situations.

The only admiration I have left for Conor is that he managed to get rich very quick and forced the Floyd debacle. The UFC is a blood sucking shit hole of a company.

Anyone know what time the early prelims start at? UK Time? Cheers.

Stay awake watch the Jojo fight then probably pass out and watch it first thing in the morning. I should probably go get some snacks and brews in. I have a habit of passing out and sort of being semi awake to just hear the result of the main event.

Belal vs Geoff Neal should be a good one. Neal has the ability to knock him out in the first, but Belal has the experience and wrestling advantage.

What a fight. Muhammad’s family should enjoy him while they can, if he keeps fighting the way he does he’ll be in a nursing home by the time he’s 40. The man has a cracking chin but you can only take so much.

Glad Neal got the win, you get the feeling that he could actually go on and go make waves in the division. Exciting prospect.

Sweet Jesus this guy Te Edwards fecking sucks. He is no UFC level,. not even close.

Dennis Bermudez retires. wow, good decision. He is not good enough at this point.

Apparently basketball has overran in the US so it hasn't switched to UFC yet  good start for ESPN.
