The MMA thread

Huh? You don’t think he can finish Kahbib, but you think it’s possible he can knock him out? Lacks any sort of finishing power? Surely these are all contradictions.

By finish I mean submit him. Conor has feck all wrestling/grappling compared to his punching power.

Conor finishes everyone who has shorter reach than him. That's been a constant. He certainly has big chances to doing the same to Khabib.
True, but also Kahbib last couple of fights where he has decided to stand he has looked a bit questionable, if it goes to the ground then I think Connor is fooked but there does look like there are weaknesses in Kahbib. Also anyone seen Connor recently he is huge. Probably around 170 right now.

About time, and better it's announced before the end of year when BT Sport loses the rights for UFC!, fecking crap channel.

If you had read the link i posted, or the tweet Raoul posted in the next post, you'd know it was set for October 6. ;)

I know it is which is why I said its a good thing its before the end of the year when BT Sports contract ends.

Oh, i misread then, thought you were hoping it would be before end of year.
My bad ;)

Khabib by murder.

Depends if it stays standing up or goes to the ground. If Khabib gets Conor down in the first round then it will be hard for Conor to get back up. Likewise if Conor manages to keep it standing up then Khabib could be in trouble.

Yeah I haven't followed his career but the last time I saw Khabib I wasn't very impressed by him. If Connor is serious I can see him winning this one.

Khabib won't try and stand with Connor though. Expect to him to take him down and maul him.

Some brilliant fights announced and its great to see. UFC has been in bit of a rut of late so it’s great to have a conference like this to build hype.

I reckon Conor KOs Khabib for what’s
It’s worth.

I think we should give USADA a 3 months vacation as a thank you for all their hard work.
I imagine that this whole card is going to be immense. Can't wait.
I have Conor by first round KO.

So annoyed, my BT Sport renewal is up and I just cancelled it because they'll lose the UFC.

Then the biggest UFC fight gets announce.

Any way to watch on the UK without bt sport?

Khabib might not have a choice.
Its a strange one, Khabib doesn't really take you down, he pressures you onto the cage where he can get a hold of you but that would play right into Conors hands, he has made a career out of picking off fighters trying to close the distance.

Khabib has opened up as significant favourite which is correct imo. Connor has a chance of a KO as Khabib leaves himself wide open when he goes for take downs but if he doesn't win within 2 rounds it's going to be a long beat down for Mcgregor.

ur obviously not a gambler. 8/11 v evens is not a significant favourite for the opening bets of any big fight. slight favourite at best.

Juicy. I've been looking forward to this one for a while. Will probably watch the preliminaries. Any idea roughly what time they'll start? I've met Brett Johns a couple of times, hoping he gets another win tonight - raved the shit to him after he did the calf slicer.

Spare the final fight, there's little to look forward to imo. One day Dana will figure out that no one looks forward to Mighty Mouse fights, especially if he's beating up on the same guy he just beat last year again.

You don't see many Chinese fighters these days. Good performance.

Actually there is a lot of Chinese fighters coming up. (they even had a ultimate fighter China)

After brazilians and Caucasus fighters, China probably follows. There are probably more than 20 chinese fighters in the UFC right now.

Why don't ever see them on cards ?
