So if Conor and Nate both win I’m guessing there’s definitely a trilogy for the belt next
It would probably be the biggest fight in UFC history. I think there is enough intrigue because:
- Conor's return after not fighting for a long time
- Khabib undefeated
- Such different styles of fighting. Will Conor knock him out or will Khabib take him down and smash him to pieces
- They don't like each other
- The whole bus and Artem incidents have fueled the rivalry a lot
- Who is the rightful champion? Conor never lost the belt, Khabib has pulled out of a few fights and won the belt against a lower ranked guy
Khabib's right what he says they need to pay him. Even Conor said Eddie alvarez was stupid for accepting the fight on his original contract, he should of renegotiated it to fight Conor and they all know it.
I don't particularly agree with your last point though. Khabib is the rightful champion. He pulled out of a few fights but he turned up for the championship one, it was Ferguson's injury and then a load of feck ups that meant he had to fight Iaquinta, he turned up to the fight and fairly won a title. You could also counter it by saying McGregor never fought at LW and was gifted a title shot because of who he is, I don't have a problem with that happening but I would also say it's fair to say Khabib is the champion and there should be no question about that.
Yes I don't mean he didn't rightfully win it. More just that they could use it in the build up. Conor saying he never lost the belt and beat the current champion. Khabib saying he is undefeated and beat many fighters in the division. More about the marketing side of things
Hmmm you would have thought the fights to make are Connor vs Kahbib winner of that fights the winner of Ferguson vs Dustin and then that should be the division back on track. Can’t blame Dustin for taking the Diaz fight as it’ll probably be a big pay day for him.
Eventually you would expect Ortega and Holloway will probably go up to their more natural weight. Huge fights in the division if they were to.
Saw Claudia hinted at when she returns she wouldn’t mind a crack at Rose. Not sure what, her actual injury was but seen she is back doing light physio stuff so can’t be so far off. Probably be ready before Andrade gets turned around from her next fight.

Knowing the way the Kahbib vs Tony history has gone, Connor is almost guaranteed to get pulled somehow and now finally the Kahbib vs Tony fight will happen.
I don't think Conor can finish Khabib under any circumstances. He can of course knock him out, but he lacks any sort of finishing power, especially against a world class grappler like Khabib. If anything, its Khabib who is likely to finish Conor.

This is why I find the Dustin vs Diaz fight weirdly timed, but Dana gonna Dana and he got to sell them PPV’sConor finishes everyone who has shorter reach than him. That's been a constant. He certainly has big chances to doing the same to Khabib.
