The MMA thread

It's been nearly 2 years since his loss and he's been training full time since then. Do you think it's possible for him not to have improved?
Maybe a bit. ;) Hope so, because last time was so embarrassing

On Punk, think he'll be shooting ASAP. If he can get it to the ground it could get interesting.

Same. I think the only chance for CM Punk is to rely on his ground game. BJJ is easier to learn, but striking is a different beast.

Even training for years won't help if you just don't have it (See Rockhold). And CM Punk is probably in that same situation. Stiff as feck.

You'll see. CM Punk by strangulation round 1.

His only chance tonight is pull glass shards out of his tights and grind them into his opponent's forehead, then grab a wooden chair and break it over his head. Then tag team with the undertaker to finish him off.

Short of that he can fall back on his world class BJJ.

Yeah, in reality there are big chances both of these guys don't have a clue how to finish a fight.

This is tonight, right?
Is it worth sitting up for after work, you think?

:D

I want to see Matt Hughes wreck him apart

I feel that Puke should be accompanied by a manager. Since The Brain is dead, it should be James E Cornette, and his loaded tennis racquet.

So everyone from "down under" are going to win eh ?

I hope so. Not 100% sold on neither though, specially Tuivasa and Anderson.

Robert looks good, but he has been out for a long time battling infections and stuff. I hope he is at least 90% of the man he was before.

I think Whitaker should definitely win (unless Romero catches him with something unexpected). He's in his prime now while Yoel is like 42.

Not sure if I've seen Anderson fight before, so I went with Holly.

Arlovski seems on his way out now so Tuivasa seems like the better bet there.

Haven't seen Anderson fight as well, but she looks like such a specimen. So big and strong. I think i heard one of his teammates (Krause) saying she has broken orbital bones on her 4 last opponents, so maybe she hits quite hard.

Tuivasa looked great in his last fight, but I'm worried he might be too overconfident, and over looking Arlovski. But yeah, although Arlovski is on a 2 win streak, i can see him being KO into retirement.
