Feck that could've won him the match. Still think Wonderboy did enough to win 3 rounds.

Thought Wonderboy won the first, and probably the 2nd. He had Woodley going backwards most of the first two rounds. Woodley definitely won the 3rd based on the take down and ground control. Wonderboy won the 4th based on his strikes and Woodley's inactivity. Then Woodley won the 5th, although it wasn't a 10-8.

what a shit fight. I think it was the right decision to give it to Woodley, but no one won.

GSP or Conor gonna take that belt from Woodley for sure. Never mind Maia.

Some good fights, not the worst UFC ever. Disappointed with Vannata.

One thing is for sure, I never want to watch those 2 fight again and it was extra, snoozed induced, proof that Maia got screwed.

We'll now have hipster Rogan and Schaub etc telling us how wrong and uneducated we are and how it was a super interesting fight.
Rogan already said it twice in the post fight interviews.
I really hate Wonderboy's style. Positioning yourself to be a counterstriker shouldn't let you off the hook from having no forward aggression.
Conor makes it work. Even Cruz is on a slightly higher level

That was a terrible main event and a pretty poor card really highlignt prob Reem KO. I thought Wonderboy won it personally but am more relieved won't see them fighting each other for a while at least!

Can't see how Woodley won that. Wonderboy won rd 1, 2 & 4 10-9. Wood one round 3 & 5 10-9. Even if you have Woodley round 5 10-8 it's still a draw.

Happy for my boy Reem!

The main event was really boring. Overall the card was okay though, Overeem and Hunt was the highlight for me. Anyway here's how I saw the main event...

Wonderboy did enough to win in my eyes. He took the first two rounds mainly because Woodley did feck all. The third round Woodley clearly won because of the takedown then I gave the fourth to Wonderboy which was a similar round to the first two and obviously the fifth round to Woodley but it wasn't a 10-8 round. Bad call from the judges in my opinion.

That was bizarrely similar to the last meeting.

For me Wonderboy just about edged 3 rounds through being more active, just like the first fight. Woodley won 1 round through a takedown and ground control and then another he dropped him, just like the first fight.

It was frankly shit. Woodley would have bitched and moaned if he'd have lost the decision just like he cried about the draw last time, but it's his own fault he throws rounds away by backing up and not throwing a strike.

Wonderboy was a massive disappointment. He said he was far too tentative last time and will let it go this time, then goes out there and does that. If he wants to keep it at kicking range that's fine but at least throw some kicks.

Even more gutted Ferguson/Khabib got cancelled now.

Agreed. The only reason I can see the judges giving it to Woodley is if they somehow had him nicking round 2 as well. For the most part however, Wonderboy was more active and moving forward in the first two rounds so I'm not entirely sure what the judges were thinking.

And that's exactly what happened. Two judges (the ones who gave Woodley the win) had him winning round two, while the judge who scored it a draw, gave Wonderboy round 2 but then gave Woodley a 10-8 in round 5.

To think that Maia got passed over again for that shite.

I'm glad that Woodley won though. The only thing that would have made it even more unsatisfying was if Thompson won a points decision when he clearly lost the actual fight as a whole considering the only thing that happened of note was him getting whalloped to the canvas and almost finished. Other than that, while Wonderboy was the aggressor, Woodley outlanded him in the rounds he won so don't think anyone can really complain about the decision going the way it did.

Some good fights elsewhere on the card though and some huge upsets and comebacks all night it seemed. Alcantara leglock was crazy as was Elkins comeback win. Teymur also put on a very good performance against Vanatta.

Edit: A comment on reddit about the main event sums it up well for me.

"In 10 rounds wonderboy landed nothing significant. The belt rightfully belongs to Woodley"

Wonderboy had 10 rounds and never did anything of note in his title challenge. All the exciting moments came from Woodley in both fights. He basically nullified Wonderboy completely which is pretty impressive despite how shite this fight was.

Incredibly disappointing fight from both fighters, no one deserves to take a title home after that really. They tried to talk it up as a tactical battle but it was just cagey affair.

I can't see how that was given to Woodley, looked like 48-47 (or 47-47 at a stretch) in favour of Thompson purely on the basis of octagon control and being on the front foot. I don't even think the last round was a 10-8, 20 seconds of dominance surely can't be enough for that.
I'm not too disappointed at the result though as the first fight was harsh on Woodley and he came closest to finishing on both occasions.

Teymur : Vannata was a great fight and deserved joint billing. Two entertaining fighters that we'll hopefully see a lot more of. 30-27 felt a bit rough on Vannata after such a competitive fight.

Going to need to watch that second round again, I had it 3-2 Wonderboy, dull, dull fight mind (despite Rogan's protestations)
No way for me the last round was a 10-8 one

TBH happy that Woodley won (just about). Wonderboy didnt really do anything to defeat the champion. I thought it would be a draw again.
Rogan goes on about how its a tactical masterpiece and the fans are wrong to boo, but tbh, they pay so much to go and be entertained, seeing two people move around and hardly throw stuff in the main event would get me pissed off too. (esp seeing what Woodley did in the final round).

Woodley vs Thompson was an awful fight. How did it take until the fifth round in a title fight for someone to even attempt to let it all go. You would think the guys had never fought eachother before.

Wonderboy was giving it out about how he had figured Woodley out in the end of the last fight, Woodley was talking about how he dominated Wonderboy in every aspect of the first fight. Neither of them fought how they have done to get where they are. The rest of the card was great and was such a shame that it ended with that shambles. Fans were actually walking out in the fifth round.

I did gave it to Woodley as he was more convinving in the rounds that he won. I only want to see Maia vs Woodley now. Anything else will be a disappointment.

I'm not happy Woodley won at all. Personality wise, he's as dull as they come. Wonderboy is a much more interesting personality, despite his nice guy image he's got a very unique fighting style.

For me, personality wise, there arent many great ones left in UFC.
Last couple of years had Rousey, Brock, Conor, Jones, etc which created interesting match ups. Now its all pretty much a mash up of everybody. I very much doubt they get 1m unless a big name like Conor is fighting.

I think somebody said it above, after 10 rounds, I honestly dont think WB should be champ over Woodley because he pushed forward more in one round (but hardly did anything in it).
