Are you guys staying up or getting up? Normally I just get up at 5am and only watch McGregor but this whole card is so good that I'll probably watch the whole main card and a couple of prelims. Just not sure I can stay awake 'till 6am.

I'll watch it in the morning. Just won't look at phone before hand. Mainly cos am out tomorrow and will be dead tired.

Cage Warriors is starting now on BT Sport 1 lads.

I have to get up at 5 to start working at 6, for me the challenge is going to be not seeing or hearing any results before I head home. :(

Neither, i'm drinking tonight and have to be up early enough that staying up would be bad for me, will have to get it and watch in the morning.

That sucks, but I think it's certainly manageable here in Belgium, there's literally no coverage on UFC. Only places to avoid are probably the caf, Facebook and Twitter if you follow MMA-related stuff.

Yeah, I've often forgot, browsed facebook and fecked it up. The caf is not a problem as long as you avoid this thread.

Hah, all the places I like to visit but must avoid.

Yup, I had to do it for all the Lakers games when they were in the Finals a couple of years ago, I even had to avoid my phone because there would always be at least one mate who texted me about it.

But I can't record tonight's event so have to livestream it online. I hope I find a good one.

That's the problem with wanting something secret, somehow it will find its way to you. I can't count the amount of things spoiled for me by searching for unrelated things.

I remember reading the Red Wedding spoiler when reading an article on street fighter. was pissed!

Normally I pick and choose what events I watch live and what events I record but since the birth of my kid it's all live baby!

The reddit links are usually perfect.

All this is true, but do you think it won't happen? Of course millions of kids, especially those into MMA, will see this.

Yeah it's certainly possible mate, but if/when it does and little timmy starts acting like a cnut, swearing and picking fights in school. His parents can't blame Conor McGregor for that, what children are exposed to and how they behave is their parents responsibility. No one else.

The fundamental problem is all of these behind the scenes videos are so obviously staged for hype to draw in more PPV at 205. The UFC's reliance on Conor is getting a bit ridiculous in terms of the bottle throwing, chair throwing, belt grabbing, fake backstage confrontation videos etc etc.

Can't we just get back to fighting in the Octagon without the rabid infatuation with hype, money, and over commercialization.

Yeah it's getting a bit too obvious now. They have these backstage exchanges from one camera angle and then a few hours later they have them from different camera angles. So it's not like some camera man happened to be there and just managed to catch it.

Only way you can eliminate weight cutting is going the boxing route and having more weight classes vis vis light welterweight (165lbs) super welterweight (175) etc etc.

Which would be a bad idea for UFC

We already have at times divisions that are too shallow, so adding more would not be good

A lot of the divisions are too thin as it is especially at the heavier end, too many divisions would dilute it further.

Though having said that your idea of bumping the welterweight division up to 175 and having a new division between WW and LW is interesting that might work. Both those divisions are pretty deep with talent, and having a division in between could also allow potential match-ups between top LW's and WW's at 165.

khabib is an animal on the deck, johnson started the round well too!

the event is living up to expectations so far.
