The MMA thread

I've taken some big hits playing sport, I'm sure plenty on here have and some hurt more than others. Its not always the biggest hit that hurt most. It could have just been a perfect kick on the perfect spot.
That was a big shot too, in a nice spot. Probably just took all the wind he had out of him, and Mein is pretty tough.

A hard kick to the liver (I realise that one wasn't)feels like you're gonna die

He popped back up pretty quickly. Seemed like a real lack of heart. Thiago Alves took a beating in the first round and came out fighting. The guy with the bigger heart won!

If it's a shot that takes the wind completely out of you, you recover pretty quick, but are pretty helpless until you recover.

He was on his feet but he was done. It even looked like he thanked the ref for stopping it. Or at least that he understood that it had to be stopped.

Glad the ref stopped that. He tried to give him a chance, but he was just getting up to be hit.

Holy shit! That was a beating and a half. I've always like Joe Lauzon, sad to see him get rag dolled like that.

Ronda Rousey

Good night so far, looking forward to the main even now.

It's for fights like this that they need trapdoors and stuff. It's like Dana White hasn't even seen Robot Wars.

Silva schooling Diaz here.
Nick needs to knock the 'I'm here to fight' mocking shit off. everyone knows how Silva fights, not his fault you can't combat it Diaz

Something quite comical about seeing and hearing a grown man cry!

Great to see Silva back and winning. God knows why Diaz thought he won the fight he didn't do much in the 5 rounds.

from the tone on Silva's voice, this might have been his last fight. Hopefully we can enjoy him longer, but if he feels he can't compete toe to toe with the current top talents, then fair enough.

This was a disappointing fight, no real action, looked like a sparring match.

Understandable though from Anderson's perspective, it was more of a tune up fight than anything else.
