The MMA thread

That would make sense because he was shockingly non-offensive, and the punches he threw were weak, he looked winded on top, but if he was basically out on his feet that would definitely explain all of it.

Brown looked great besides his stomach obviously, hope that isn't a weakness for him and Silva just caught him.

The WW division is stacked at the moment, so many contenders in there for a title shot... Brown needs a win over a top 5 fighter to get that shot! Maybe match him up against Condit?

McDonald v Woodley already coming up! Lawler v Ellenberger in two weeks! His only option...

Well, he just fought himself, so the winner, or even loser, of either of those matches could end up being his next opponent. I would love to see him fight Lawler or Woodley but I would have him as an underdog. He would be favored over Ellenberger in my book and I think he matches up well against McDonald who struggled with Lawler's aggressive attack.

Condit may yet be out for a while with that knee injury.

Manager: Erick Silva neither concussed, nor is his jaw fractured after UFC Fight Night 40 loss

Some bruises and stitches, and that’s it.

Erick Silva came close to defeating Matt Brown at UFC Fight Night 40 in Cincinnati, Ohio, but "The Immortal" came back in devastating fashion and finished the Brazilian in the third round of an epic battle.

At the post-fight press conference, UFC president Dana White said Silva was rushed to the hospital with a possible concussion and fractured jaw, but turns out he’s "100 percent healthy" according to his manager Wallid Ismail.

"No fractures, nothing at all," Ismail told MMAFighting.com on Sunday. "He just got some stitches in the forehead, but the rest is fine. He walked out of the hospital on his own. He was just exhausted after the fight."

Ismail obviously expected Silva to beat Brown, and he wants his coaches to find out why he gassed so fast in the bout.

"We don’t know what happened, we don’t know if it was the rear-naked choke attempt in the first round," he said. "He’s really good, but something happened. We need to find out what’s the issue. His training camp was perfect, we have no excuses. He was great. He never cut weight that easily."

Silva got tired in his UFC 153 bout with Jon Fitch in a similar situation, after working hard to secure a rear-naked choke in the second round.

"I told him to never go for a rear-naked choke again," Ismail laughed.

The loss dropped Silva’s UFC record to 4-4, bouncing between wins and losses since his Octagon debut in 2011.

"That’s why MMA is so wonderful," Ismail said of the main event. "He almost knocked him out, but he came back impressively and won the fight. MMA is so exciting."

I was more interesting in the info that he wasn't concussed just gassed.

Gassed, from that first round? That's madness, he must have the worst cardio in the UFC.

Thats crazy!!

Must of had a really poor training camp, how he was gassed after 5mins is beyond me! He tried one rear naked choke and thats it!!

Apparently not! Seems the coaches are as confused as we are.

thats very odd alright!

Brown is on a great run, 7 wins with 5 KO's!! I think Lombard is up for him next... Sorry I forgot that Condit is injured... WW Division is stacked at the moment!! Unreal the amount of talent in there!!

Jesus he had better best miller in Dublin, I'd hate to see him fall flat on his face

Had money down on Tito and King Mo to win in Bellator last Saturday. 12/1 odds I got and the judges feck up the call. Devastated I was

Anyone watching the new season of "The Ultimate Fighter"?

haven't noticed Lawler was fighting tonight until his fight started... solid performance.

Cormier next

bring it on!

prediction: TKO 2nd round for Cormier :nervous:

Gotta stay on his feet after the beginning of round 3 for Henderson or its all over. The last time I saw him on the floor this long was against Jake Shields when he lost. Couldnt get up then either

Sad for Henderson to go out like that, but absolutely deserved by Cormier to get the finish to put the icing on the cake. Slaughter

this next fight should be a fun one too

T.J. anyone?

both look confident

ps. scratch that hahaha... T.J. looks like he already fought. wtf...
