The MMA thread

I mean the whole fecking card, but yeah, that was terrible too

I'm not sure what I was expecting as most of the fighters I'm unsure of. But you'd think they'd go for it a little more or something? The whole thing has just felt completely flat, even the crowd. Strange.
Ogle on the main card was pretty much a sign of what to expect. Hopefully the main event isn't awful.

That was better! I know what you mean though. I coulnd't give two fecks about most of the undercard these days and most of the fights are shite. I'm not sure if things were really different then, but I do remember in the Strikeforce days watching the whole card and being excited as feck.

Souza is a monster, he managed to make Carmont look small, and completely overpowered and outstruck him. Really Carmont hasn't been much tested against such fighters, don't think he's really ready to compete against someone like Souza.

Jacare wasn't anywhere near as good as some of you are saying. Carmont also deserved a round.

A few of us on here were playing the ESPN fantasy game which was pretty decent and me and one other guy even one a few prizes. That's finished and no sign of it returning yet but the above is a decent alternative. Started on the last event, mixed bag. I'm being a bit lazy right now so if any of you are interested I think you can create a league too. Can do a simple sign in with FB as well.

Anyone watching UFC 170 tonight. I think it's free with BT Sport.

Just checking the odds and Mcmann has really long odds to beat Rousey. She is 7/2 and Rousey 1/5. All the pre fight build up has this as a very even fight and McMann because of her background is someone who is unlikely to beaten by a first round arm bar but the bookies are scoring this the same as the Rousey/Tate fight.

Am I missing something here as I tempted to put money on McMann even if she is not the favourite. She's someone who has been built up as a legitimate contender rather than the other Women's MMA fighters.

I stick by saying McMann is her biggest challenge outside of Zingano. I've got Ronda winning this because I think she's pretty much unstoppable, but without a shadow of a doubt this is one of the most intriguing fights we'll see in terms of the Women's title. I think McMann's issue will be that I can't see her ever stopping Ronda and a five round decision in her favor is an absolute massive ask while trying to avoid the judo for 25 full minutes, Rousey's massively improved stand up and obviously the lethal arm bar that nobody has managed to avoid to date.

For me the odds are spot on really, not too far out because she's a quality challenger that is capable, but not too tight because in reality Ronda is still a big favorite.

Cummins comes across as a bit of a dick. Usually I'd like to see the underdog do well, but he has totally ruined that for me tonight.

I have such a strong dislike for Rousey, she acts like such a grade A cnut all the fecking time. I hope she gets her arse handed to her by McMann.
