Did Hunt get his visa issues or whatever it was sorted then?

Unlucky for him, Dos Santos is going to tear through him on his way back to regaining the title. Cracking card for sure.

Yea he did indeed, thankfully.

Good article about JDS. This part though, fecking hell:

He admits that he vastly overtrained for his title defense at UFC 155 on Dec. 29 against Cain Velasquez. He peaked, he said, 15 days before the bout.
He took a severe beating in losing his heavyweight championship to Velasquez via a five-round decision. The morning after the bout, his urine was a very dark brown, the color of Guinness Stout beer.

He wasn't urinating blood, as some fighters do after a grueling match. Rather, the brown coloration of his urine was due to rhabdomyolysis. His muscle fiber was breaking down and getting into the blood steam.

It is a treatable condition, but it can be fatal under certain circumstances. There are numerous causes, but one is extreme physical exercise. Dos Santos trained so fiercely that he was pushing his body well beyond its natural limits.

He's consulted with experts at Nike, and brought in Alexandre Dortas, a Brazilian physiologist, to monitor various levels in his blood. After the loss to Velasquez, doctors found that his creatine kinase (known as CK) level was far too high.

Creatine kinase is an enzyme in the blood that can be used to diagnose rhabdomyolysis. The average adult male has a CK level under 300, Dortas said. He said an elite athlete can get that level as high as 350. But after the Velasquez fight, dos Santos said his CK level was over 1,400.

I honestly feel that if he prepares correctly (Assuming he beats Hunt) this time, he can win back the title from Cain. But I have serious man love for JDS so I'm a bit biased.

The dude is crazy. Even with all that said, I still say that one slip in round one is what turned that entire fight. Cain came out crazy and JDS was managing to avoid him, before a mistake and a shot connected and from there on he just couldn't recover.

We have to see a third fight between the two. Both were really good fights and if they both get their wins this weekend, which I expect they will, hopefully we're looking at a third between the two before the years out.

Despite the sheer beating he took, Cain couldn't stop JDS. JDS has stopped Cain though. Can't wait to see what shape he's in against Hunt, honestly reckon he might just maul him.

Yea it was amazing, he got battered from pillar to post and kept getting back up. And then those motherfeckers boo'd him when he was giving his post fight interview, wtf?!

"Why they do that? Why are they booing?"

:(

Yeah that was a complete joke!

No idea what they were thinking

Yeah, I heard about JDS' overtraining issues in the Countdown to UFC 160. I love JDS, but I think Cain will rule this division for a while. Nevertheless, I would love to see JDS fight Cain at 100%. I wouldn't mind seeing a JDS vs. Overeem fight either; that could well happen if Mark Hunt somehow manages to pull off an upset.

Has either of Hunt or JDS ever been knocked out? Both have granite chins and if they keep it standing, which then tend to prefer, we could be in for an epic war.

Jones V Gustaffson just announced.

Should be a great fight that one, Finally somebody to challenge Jones' reach.

Bastards:(:(

Hello MMATards. You can get Glover at 10/3 to win by submission! That's got to be worth a tenner at least. Te Huna has lost four fights by submission, his TDD is average and Glover is has been able to take down much better wrestlers.

I'm considering putting a tenner on Glover by submission, Stephens vs Payan won't go the distance and Rick Story by decision. Tenner gets you £187.

On Betfair it's 5/4 for the fight to end in Round 1. Can't choose Cain as the winner though, just that the fight will end then.

I went with this in the end

30/1 so it's a huge long shot but only stuck a fiver on it and it makes the prelims a bit more fun. Most nervous about the Story/Pyle fight.

I downloaded the ufc TV app on my iPad. Was able to watch the weigh ins last night. Will I be able to watch all the prelims on it does anyone know?

Not sure because the first 3 prelims are on Facebook/Youtube. Not sure if they show them on ufc.tv.

The prelims on FX though you should be able to watch on ufc.tv

It's easy to see that these are seriously good fighters, but why are 90% of UFC fights so ridiculously boring to watch?

Ok, bought and watching. :D

Edit - Cool, I can scroll to the beginning of the evening and watch those I missed aswell. :)

Whittaker lightening him up.

Boring my arse!

That fight was 'ok'. The last fight I really liked was the Condit v GSP one. Most of the recent ones have been (in my opinion anyway) alright at best. But of course, that's just me.

Fair enough, I can certainly see why people would find it boring. I personally don't really like watching boxing any more. Off the top of my head for recent great fights

Struve vs Hunt
Wanderlei vs Stann
Hendricks vs Condit
Roy Nelson vs Cheik Kongo
McGregor vs Brimage
Rousey vs Carmouche
Watson vs Nedkov
Brown vs Mein
Diaz vs Thomson

And they're the only ones I can recall right now but there's probably tons more. If you haven't seen Wanderlei vs Stann then, as a fight fan, you need to watch that.

Early stoppage, but feck it. Colton is a cnut anyway for the takedown attempt when they were going to touch of the gloves in his first fight in TUF.

I've watched most of those, but I'll check that one out.
